Exclusive: Listen To Extinct? Radio Interview With 2008 Bigfoot Hoaxer Rick Dyer
Michael Merchant, Damian Bravo and host Ro Sahebi welcomes the self-proclaimed "The Best Bigfoot Trackers In The World" Rick Dyer as guest on the radio show Extinct?. Dyer spills it all and admits that the 2008 Georgia Bigfoot hoax was probably a good thing. In the interview Dyer says the Bigfoot community should thank him for doing the hoax.
Dyer claims to know where the exactly location of Dr. Ketchum's habituation site is (inadvertently discovered behind Home Deport while dumpster diving) and states that he has Bigfoot trackers staking out at the site trying to get a clear shot and finally bag one. Dyer believes that the only way to prove the existence of Bigfoot is with a body.

ReplyDeleteWhat is your thing for rick dyer? We already know that apparently you are friends with the guy which is sleezy enough, but what is it with you giving him so much publicity? Why are you trying to promote him?
If your just looking for stories, go to youtube and pull some videos to question, or go and pull some reports to discuss. But why in gods name would you keep giving this deuche any publicity at all? Your really beginning to hurt your sites credibility.
Bigfoot encounters is a great example. They dont have alot of updates, but they stay out of the drama and they dont promote rediculous pieces of trash like dyer. Then their is cryptomundo, which has more updates but still not the up to date info as it comes out. But yet it still remains out of the drama and doesnt give any attention to these butt sniffers.
Then their is here, where you get the latest updates in the bigfoot world, but you pay the price because you keeep posting this crap and giving this guy publicity. Literally, if it werent for your sight, his videos would get zero hits. Why do this? Why promote such a looser who is only hurting the field?
Why not continue the good breaking stories and leave the trash outside where it belongs. But instead the only thing we are left to think is that you either have a vested interest in dyer, or you really like him. And either way it makes no sense if you care about this field at all. He is a laughing stock disgrace and by giving him this publicity you are making yourself and your sight look bad.
PURE AND SIMPLE, STOP GIVING HIM ATTTENTION ALONG WITH FATSINO, SNOWDEUCHER PRIME, AND ALL THE OTHER GARBAGE, AND THEY WILL GO AWAY.
I like your site alot, but its turning into crap real quick. You should pay attention to this post as my thoughts are the same as most of us out their.

He does make bold statements about killing a Sasquatch but for now atleast he has not achived that goal.

And to make it clear, i didnt say that i spoke for you. I stated that their were a great deal of otehrs who share my opinion, and their are. I have talked to many. I could see an occassional post on this d bag so that we could all get a laugh, but this is beocming and every day thing, all day.

DeleteAnon @ 1:10PM, this is Damian Bravo, I wanted to clarify something, we did have many questions to ask Rick, but an hour how can go by quikly when talking, just did not have enough time to ask him all of them. For a strange reason he admires SWP and we hope we can get him back for a second interview. Also the reason why we showed respect to Rick, was not because he deserved it was because he showed it to us, as you notice he did not show and disrespect to any of us. Belive me I do not like Dyers views on killing Sasquatch and other things but when doing these kinds of interviews, attacking guest will stall them from answering questions and even lose more time, I hope that makes sense.

DeleteAdmittedly, there is a healthy consensus that Dyer is a total loser who needs a lot of attention. But, I have no issues with the guys talking to him and revealing what an idiot he is. The thing is, the more that people like Shawn expose Dyer, Fasano and Smeja for the losers they are, letting them talk and show how stupid and pathetic they are, the better for those who want to learn about the field to realize the vast chasm between intelligent conversation, like Mike Rugg, and pathetic small-weenied men like Dyer desperately trying to remain public when he should have crawled back under a rock. When my son was learning to drive, I told him we needed the a-holes on the road to keep us alert and keep our skills up. There's even a place in the world for these pathetic guys if only to keep us using our intelligence and skepticism to weed out the bad seeds.

Yeah he may have done something that you wouldnt have done, but i do know him and hes a hell of a guy. As nice as anyone you will meet. It is not up to Shawn to expose anyone. He puts the info out there and we make our own conclusion,at least some of us do. I haven't signed my mind and problem solving ability over to anyone else.

ReplyDeleteI would have at least said ""don't kill it, get video and pictures, just don't kill these animals"". Their lives are difficult enough without killing a BF who may be a needed member of a family grouping causing little ones to starve to death!
Unfortunately we could not convince him, Ricks theory on killing one is that It will end the debate and the world will know the truth with out any doubt. he believes is the only way to do it quickly and effectively. I you heard the Podcast I did ask him why kill one, why not use other methods like capturing one or finding one if he had the money to do so. But after his supposed encounter with one he stated they are just to quick and elusive to capture and can easly break out of any normal harmless trap. It is difficult to understand, I would liek like that to happen, but wiTh Rick after having his conversation i think he is 100% serious about what he wants to do and the outcome of it.

How is laughing it up and basically agreeing with his premise that Killing Bigfoot is the only way to to know for sure. Did anyone ask Ricky what he would do with the body, I'm quite certain he isn't donating it to Science. Because I've seen him talk many times about making 50 million off the body selling body parts to different Universities for study. Did anyone ask Ricky if he could prove any of the bunk he was feeding these guys. How about a video of the group with a video crew following them. What Organization is footing the bill? THese guys did nothing to further this story we know nothing about the guy. Becaue no one did any homework before interviewing him. Snowball was just yacking it up as usual he knows nothing. DeleteRicky Dyer is the kind you say "nice doggy" to until you can find a large rock. Everyone benefited by him being interviewed, except Common Decency. This is not a game animal. It should never be allowed to be treated as a trophy. I am very disappointed by all involved.
ReplyDeleteMy position is if it is NEVER proven to exist, that is more acceptable than allowing a single one to be slaughtered. No bipedal creature should be treated as an animal until it is proven beyond a reasonable doubt otherwise. We have less information in this case than a creature that died 36,000 years ago.
The most dangerous aspect of this is having trophy hunters out in the woods shooting at bipedal figures. This is where it becomes personal with me. I never got to hunt deer with my Dad because his brother was shot in the woods. It is bad enough that they kill other hunters when shooting four footed animals.
It is beyond me how anyone can look in the mirror who gives this dangerous narcissist any motivation to be armed and dangerous. I do not believe in restriction of firearms ownership, but I do believe someone who is willing to perpetrate a fraud is responsible enough to have a drivers' license, much less a firearm. This man cannot even drive a vehicle without the chance of it catching on fire.

We will try but Hovey dislikes SWP and me, we have nothing personal against her, just the way she likes to censor the people she calls her critics, TeamTazerBigfoot is dislike by Hovey and the show has 3 members of TTB. We will see if this can even happen, but if she wants to come on the show she is welcome to come and sling accusations at us. I doubt very much she would agree but we will try.

ReplyDeleteMy question is, how many species have been discovered in the last 60 years, using a rifle? If you are not using scientific processes, science will never recognize the findings (however corporeal). Therefore, this is undoubtedly a profiteering endeavor and not ANY type of legal hunting that is recognized by our state or federal government. Best case scenario, the appropriate enforcement agency seizes your illegally obtained property and gives custody of the cadaver to the university you would propose to sell pieces to... leaving you with nothing but jeopardizing your right to hunt, a reasonable fine and your less-than-credible story... which nobody will believe, BTW
Poaching doesn't even cut it here. Look up the definition of 'marauding'... that pretty much explains the intent, right?

ReplyDeleteListening to the tons of Bigfoot podcasts has become a hobby of mine, and this show is by far becoming my favorite. I know having Rick Dyer on was controversial, but if you listen to the entire show it is DAMN entertaining. I mean, Dyer is an interesting personality worthy of study — good or ill, screwy or sane. And he did a bad, bad thing in 2008 ... but at least he IS willing to talk about it. How many of us would love to grill hoaxers like Ivan Marx for an hour? We'll never get to, but these guys interviewed the next best thing! If only they could get Biscardi on ...

I can't say I would have had as much patience. And by being polite, Michael Merchant, Damian Bravo and Ro Sahebi actually got information out of Dyer, not an angry hang-up and a dial tone.
Looking forward to what these guys bring next!
