Putting An End To The Hovey Bigfoot Photo Fiasco!

Editor’s Note: This is a post by Bigfoot Evidence contributor, Damian Bravo, a Sasquatch believer. You can join Damian's group Sasquatch Lives? on Facebook and the group's official page at www.sasquatchlives.com.

A couple of weeks have passed since the Hovey Bigfoot picture, people are still chiming in on what they believe is or is not the suit related to the photo. The sad part is many researchers believe that the Hovey Bigfoot photo is the real deal. I myself do not know why they believe this from one photo.

Fact number one, Hovey has stayed quiet since her interviews on some of the popular internet places in the BF community and the author of the photo has not come forward or sent in any more of the supposed series of photos that he claims to have taken.

I think it’s time to put an end to this fiasco, this is my last time I will analyze the photo, and one photo is not enough to make assumptions that what is being portrayed in the photo is actually Bigfoot. I do not understand why we continue on this course with such an ambiguous photo.

The position someone stands can give the appearance of a short neck or no neck at all, so that can also be debated depending how someone stands to the angle of the camera. So even if this is a person or a bust or whatever anyone may think is in the Hovey photo; it can be duplicated with the right equipment or photo enhancement programs like Lightroom for example.

Below is a photo comparison and analysis of hair color, professional creature FX artist have stated that the suit can be tinted to achieve particular colors, also a photo can be manipulated to achieve certain color tones as I will show below. I used in this case Lightroom as the photo enhancement program.

Original Photo of the Movie Clawed Posted onBigfoot Evidence blog.
Mirrored Photo of original Clawed Costume Photo

So as you can see, if I can easily manipulate the tint on the hair of the “Clawed” suit, which came out very close to the hair in the Hovey BF photo, then we can assume due to the lack of other photos that we cannot trust the authenticity of the Hovey BF photo. The only way to do this is for the person that sent her the photo to come forward and show the rest of the supposed series of photos he has, I doubt this will ever happened.

  2. Mellisa Hovey's track record is sadly lacking.

She has been notorious for posting photos and reports on her website that turned out to be
    nothing but hoaxes.

If someone did indeed have a legit photo why would
they send to Hovey when there are some many others
    with far better reputations?

    3. Yeah, but look how many serial bigfoot hoaxers keep getting an audience time and time and time and time again.

For instance, many of these serial hoaxers have shown up featured in articles on this site repeatedly, as if they are still credible.

    4. Oh yeah there are just tons of blogs and websites about BF that are considered high quality and are rarely criticized. The pictures should have been sent there. Are you on crack??

    5. Hovey is proving this to be a hoax by getting defensive about logical criticisms. Yet, she claims to be a neutral party. This tells me she is a hoaxer.

  3. Damian, thank you , there are so many issues w/ this photo on so many levels that I do not understand why it was given so much attention in the first place. Today, I was reexamining the photo due to a comment and found even more evidence of tamperinmg. I think it should just go away

  4. Great post with great reasoning. Even the guy who did the photo analysis said that the hair was probably brownish but because of the light, was made to look more gray/white.

Unless tons of other pictures come from MH, I hope this is the last time I hear about this hoax.

  5. But it won't go away!!! Look how much ATTENTION it is getting.

The biggest point I think everyone overlooks is the thing in the pic has NO ARMS.

Should be a no brainer but lots of people want it to be real so it will always have its place in BF infamy now - along with so much other stuff.

  6. What all you assholes forget is that Melissa did not release the photo claiming it was ANYTHING. It was just released. You all want a conclusion. If you can't have a conclusion, you feel threatened and start attacking the source of the info that was released.

    1. I hope she's learned that her credibility is being judged by this photo, whether she claimed it to be genuine or not. People will forget that little detail, and it will always be attached like an asterisk in any discussion associated with her name. Much like Biscardi and Freezer Boy.....

    2. Big deal. I'm sure she could care less. What does credibility in Bigfoot research amount to anyway? It's not a profession. Only credentialed scientists need to actually worry about credibility.

The photo will be forgotten in a month or so anyway. Highly doubt that Melissa will suffer any ill will because of it. Anyone that does isn't worth worrying about.

  7. So you can use photoshop to tint the fur color to match the Hovey photo. Okay. But if I was trying to put out a hoax by photographing a suit, why would I tint the color anyway? Why does that have any bearing to proving the photo is a hoax or not?

Does the suit have underlying skin features like the photo?

People let's face it, there is no way to prove or disprove the validity of the photo from the photo itself. I'm sick of hearing it.

  8. Put an end to the "fiasco"? Dude, get a clue - all you've done is show what you can do in Photoshop. You make a value judgement on a relatively lo-res picture that has been cropped, which proves nothing at all. I see no point to this post.

I don't know if the subject of the picture is the real deal or not, and until more pictures or information comes to light we can't definitively say so. In the meantime, just keep on letting your personal bias muddy the waters, and have a nice day.

  9. I agree Damian. I haven't even been reading anything related to it. Unless it's about more pictures or the person who took the original picture I have no interest.

  10. The author is wrong on many details. First off hovey did nothing wrong by sharing this photo as many have wrongully attacked her personally, copyright issues and supported a false claim on suit origin without bothering to do any research. I saw on bfoot forums where this author's facebook page was linked to a white congo movie costume (clearly not a match) heclaimed matched and this guy actually created overlays to try and make that costume fit hoveys photo which is very deceiving imo. He is also false in that he claims in article that hovey hasnt been active in discussing this photo in which ive seen her answering questions everywhere from bfoot forums to FB to other interviews??? I dont know hovey from adam but i appreciate she shared the photo and is still trying to work w the witness according to her. The photo is at least interesting to look at and has not been matched to any costume yet. Maybe bravo should try and interview hovey before attacking her and her motivations

    3. One thing I will not allow, is for any one to question my credability, I was pursing that avenue of the Killer White Ape costume from the Congo movie, unfortunately it lead me to a dead end.

The suit was sold in a private auctioneer site, I guess due to their privacy police i never recieved an answer when I contacted them.

The reference to Hovey, i have no personal issues with her, and i am not the one who put the photo out in the community, so i have no need to interview her, and if i did, she would probably not answer my questions, because i will want to know who is the person exactly behind the photo, which she refuses to give info on.

Her last inteview was with the FB/FB guys since then i personaly have not seen anything from her camp about this.

Also my article is based on the hair of the suit and the possibility of this being replicated, i am not saying that the Clawed costume is the Hovey BF photo, but in this day and age with special FX many things can and will be duplictated.

Like I said if you disagree with my view of this fine, but do not question my credability.

      respectfully

  11. You know what,

What makes it real for me, is not the color, not the short neck, not the huge muscles. It's the fact that the skin is showing. Why? Well lets say you set out to craft a suite or a sculpure with hair. You would want to create the best looking fake you can. Would you intentionally leave patches of skin showing through? You don't see any patches of skin on the movie suit do you?

I know that if I made a fake suit I would definately not leave patches of skin showing through the fur like that.
It's definetly not the movie suit. It's not a fake because it would be considered an incomplete suit/fake if it was. I think it's this simple attribute that makes it a real photo to me.

Also yes it is totally possible duplicate this with a fake. But that does not mean it actually is. Just that it COULD BE.

    1. Well said. If someone were to fabricate a suit like this, wouldn't they be making it harder for themselves by leaving so much 'skin' visible? Surely you would see the weave of the material the fake fur was attached to. Given the amount of scrutiny the photo would undergo, wouldn't you want to make it a convincing fake as possible?

I'm on the fence with this one, but details such as the scabs are what give me pause for thought.

      Delete
    2. Why would it be harder? Also, not all of these suits require a weave. I keep hearing all of this talk about weaves and it's driving me nuts. You guys get hung up on one technique and act like there are no other techniques for attaching hair to costumes. Hair can also be inserted and glued as well as a weave. Just go to any Halloween shop and check out some gorilla or werewolf masks. I have a hard time believing that no one here watches any behind the scenes clips of movies. This is something that can be done and if you are trying to duplicate the muscle being visible under the hair this would be the best way to go since that weaves cover this kind of detail up. The hair is long and not uniform so that it can expose the muscular form of the body. This point has been hammered into the ground over and over concerning the Patterson film.

The Clawed suit is a horrible suit. A better comparison would be werewolf suits or even some of the costumes wore by the actors in the 2001 Planet of the Apes movie.

There are people out there everywhere replicating all kinds of FX stuff and costumes are on the top of the list. This suit isn't hard to replicate and anyone with a little bit of time and money can do this. Not to mention the left arm below the shoulder is missing.

Scabs? I suppose you people get hung up when you see people in movies with cuts and scabs on their face and think its real too.

This article nailed some great points. This thing can be faked easily! All it takes is someone with some money, some FX skills and a few thoughts on how to make it more real like adding tics and scabs. Hell, if it was me I woulda tossed in a few burs and leaves for the added effect and maybe even some matted hair like what's on my chow's ass.

  15. Good article Damian and I agree the photo has been beaten to death.
Someone had mentioned why someone would leave skin showing. While looking for matches to the photo last week, I came across a sad looking BF costume that is mostly skin. The critter looks pathetic, but it does show that movie makers will try different approaches when producing costumes of such a being.
Unless more photos of this subject come forward, I am done reading about this one.

  18. The neck! Look at the neck! Look at how it is so hunched. Look at its head and how the angle it juts from the shoulder is not completely human... And the upper back muscles! Looking at it from that angle and noticing that the hair looks like greasy long pubic hair everywhere makes me come to the conclusion of it being real or one of the best Sasquatch hoaxes ever. From an anatomical standpoint, its not completely human. Could some random Texas blogger with (presumably) no education in Anthropology and Anatomy be capable of doing this?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I am not convinced it's fake. It's going to take a lot more than the article above to convince me either way but I'm leaning more toward real. If it's PROVEN to be a fake I have this crow stew I make and have had to eat it often.

Perhaps I'm looking at it from a different perspective. I've worked in rehab centers and nursing homes. I've seen hair like this and I know what bed heads look like. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw this picture.Their hair looks exactly like the picture except for the sores one can see on the MH photo on the head. When one doesn't comb their hair or have not washed it and they lay down their hair will kinda part in the middle, get stringy and stay. Even after brushing it will go back to the bed head pattern. The back hair would follow the same pattern I would assume.

I also wonder why someone would add a few blood sucking ticks or what could be a few maggots on the back? I doubt one will find that in the comparison picture.I certainly can't see them in the magnified comparison picture. How can those not be addressed?

As far as the no arms???? Look at the photo above, where's the arms in the comparison "Claws" photo side by side MH's picture? However we know that that guy has arms. The date and time stamp were blacked out that which would be in the area of the left corner. I can tell where they did that.

I'm not shocked at all MH has been quiet.I'd run for the hills because all she did was post the picture. She xplained it publically before she posted and begged the person to come forward.

I strongly suspect the person who took the photo(if it's real)is sitting back watching all this and thanking the Lord above that no one knows his identity. I would be.

I have been absolutely amazed the first clear picture we have been begging for has turned into this circus but...Damion by posting this article you have helped Shawn get more hits and I fell for it too when reading the title.

As far as the color of the hair, guess what, that is exactly my hair color without my blonde dye on it.That was also exactly the color of my mother's hair. The hair in the comparison photo where you changed Claws color is not like MH's photo. I understand what you were trying to do but it is not the same color or striations, etc. Nothing looks natural in the Claws photo, any of them.

The muscles are amazing in the clear photo. They are not evident or realistic looking in the Claws photo.

I actually feel sorry for the poor old fellow in the clear photo because until I saw this I'd never thought about Sassy's dealing with ticks, mites, fleas, sores, flies, maggots, etc. No wonder they smell.

All of the above is my opinion only

If everyone wants the controversy to die down about the photo- stop posting about it either in articles or comments.

There is one thing I know for certain, the more I know about this community, if I just happened to have a photo that might be clearer than a blobsquatch, no one would/will know ever!

If I have/had a photo I've taken and decided to share it, I'm sorry but I don't have to prove anything to anyone. My attitude would be either believe it or not but I see now that one's whole life history would be fodder for all. That's not right.

To say that one has a hisory of hoax's without proof, links, references is so wrong. That accusation actually sounds like another researcher who has been known to frequent this blog. He's famous for calling others hoaxers yet his professional ethics are seriously lacking.

Consider this, just as I'm sure there are better pictures out there, I'm also sure very few people want to be served on a platter to this community.

  20. Blondie's post continued-

Damian, I think the Congo suit was whiter and had a whole lot more hair. Here is a link to the back of one of the ape heads from the movie. I don't think it's even close.

I'm not trying to sway anyone one way or another. I just felt it was time to explain the way I feel and why.

To the commenter who accused MH of hoaxing I need links and accountability before I believe your comments.

Damian it is with great respect I write this but it did nothing to change my mind and the title did not have the word "hair" anywhere in it.

If one has ever seen what I call "bed heads" they would recognize the appearance immediately. There would be no need to fake that.

By the way even though my natural hair looks like that and I use Blonde hair color I really was born a blonde.

LOL and no one will ever see a picture I might have of a big Sassy because of all this!

    1. Blondie I respect you r comments and answer you with this question, show me how you can tell all this from one photo? I know you looked at this photo over by the way you have talked about it, but exactly show me the ticks tha some are talking about.

Also the the hair folicals you see, I have the so called high resolution photo... which is not...and have enlarge it to what is humanly possible, what some people are seeing as a professional photographer with years of experience in photo editing is actually pixalations that are formed which are cause by light and shadows, this creates objects that are not really their.

If you would like blondie, circle the areas that you think you see ticks, maggots, hair foilcals and scabs, i will personaly enlarge them for you and show you that their is nothing on this figure that show this, here is my email ranxorox1@yahoo.com. If you want too.

I am not trying to convince anyone to belive its fake or real, but the fact is we only have one photo, we do not know if actually more photos exist and if the person wants to stay hidden , he still can but send all the other photos so we cna analyze them all and get to the truth.

    2. But Damian isn't the last paragraph a contradiction to all you've said above in the article? I'm just asking because I see some contradictions. I'm in a bit of a conundrum here but this will be my last post on this matter. LOL I just offered my opinion, no facts, etc. I offered links to the Congo suits that had been brought up above and my opinion.

I offered an opinion about the hair based on my professional experiences working with wonderful people who were bedridden and was trying to describe hair patterns and the colors of my own hair which is quite brave ask any woman.

I'm trying my best to find where I said the word "FOLLICLE". I've read what I wrote twice now cannot find the word follicle but no "follicle".

Thank you for asking for my help to find the ticks, maggots or scabs but I don't know how to circle a picture. I do know for sure that if you scroll back through all the articles here for the last month I'm sure you will see the pictures that have already been circled. Honestly I'm a pretty observant person but I think these items are pretty obvious when I increase my screen resolution.

You say in the last paragraph above -You are not trying to convince anyone to believe it's fake or real- yet the title states-Putting an End to the Hovey Bigfoot Fiasco? Perhaps I am the only one who assumed there'd be proof the photo was fake in the article with a bit grander reveal.Perhaps if the title has said "Why I believe the Hovey Bigfoot Photo is fake" I wouldn't have been expecting a bit more.

Damian, I enjoy your articles and have been very supportive but I fear you're losing your objectivity on this one, that is if you want to remain objective. If you want to prove it's fake say so just don't backtrack and make contradictory statements.

Also don't lose your cool and as with my post don't add a word I never said. I never said "follicle" I'm sure you've had an ingrown hair, that is a hair follicle growing the wrong way and it does not look like a tick or maggot.

Besides all I was doing was stating my opinion.
As I said the circled photos are here in this blog just scroll on back.

We all bring different experiences to examining what we see. It is by sharing those observations and opinions that I make my conclusions.

I was sure the plant in the MH photo was Rhododendron then when evidence was presented in the comments I went to the link provided and changed my mind. It did not have to by my way or the highway. It's important to keep an open mind and try to be objective unless you are supporting a specific theory.

You've put yourself out there with this article just like MH did with the picture. Don't get defensive and become transparent. When you put yourself out there like this you will be subject to the same scrutiny as anyone else and the very same issues you are focusing on. This is exactly why I would never write an article and I've got a great one. (Shawn, don't ask, not gonna do it.LOL)

I'm old enough to be your mother so please do not be offended by anything I've said. This became personal and it was evident...

If you put it out there you've got to be able to take what comes back without becoming defensive.

    1. Derek, should we not be skeptical of photos submitted by anonymous sources without any context, background, or corroborating evidence? What's the alternative, to simply accept any and all anonymously submitted photos as evidence or proof?

Also, its not up to skeptics to "disprove" anything. It's up to the person making the claim to provide evidence and an argument.

    2. Derek's right. One reason many people doubt Sasquatches exist is based on a misconception, they think because we see so few photos they can't exist. But people have lots of different reasons for sitting on what they have, could be thye're worried about the fate of the species like this photo guy claims to be, others with more personal reasons like their reputation, their job, their faiths, etc. And Damien I think is getting carried away, there's really no way from just this one photo to conclude either way if it's real or not. If it's fake the makers are having a good laugh right now over all the debate, and let's face it, it's safer to release a back side Bigfoot photo rather than a video so more easily debunked.

You can put it under a microscope forever and probably get new theories about what it may or may not be showing in way of details, but it is just one still photo with a mystery man supposedly submitting it, end of story. There's just not enough visual information there, or details on the submitter, to warrant much attention.

I would release the worst one first, for free. I would probably send it to a few people in the community, see how it was received, but in the few years after I took the photos a dna study was started, and knowing these creatures are real having photographed them I would lock those pics down untill the day that study breaks, have a lawyer and a agent retained and get my money shot on the cover of Nat Geo and every other magazine and newspaper around the world for a week.

  26. Forgive me if someone has said this, but no picture will ever prove anything regarding Bigfoot. This could be real or fake, it does not matter because there is no way to prove that it is real. The videos cannot even be proven real, a picture is out of the question. The bottom line is, until the existence of the species is proven every photo or video is just interesting. No more. Once Sasquatch are proven to exist it will be fun going back to some of these videos and relooking at them. How many that we all thought were fake will turn out to be real and how many we thought could be real will be obvious fakes?

  29. Hello everyone. First of all, I want to thank those who are giving this photo their time and effort. Many have given their time and expertise to try and get more information from it. I also continue to work with the witness.

Now, the comments about my not answering questions is patently untrue. I have been everywhere I can to answer whatever questions are out there, that I can answer. WHO this witness is, where this person lives and any agreements we made are not going to be disclosed, and if people do not understand that, then that is their problem. I protect my witnesses. Any researcher worth their salt would do everything they can to protect the identity of their witnesses. These people owe us nothing. This witness has never asked me for one cent - and I have never offered him any money. I do not pay witnesses. I post nothing on my blog (other than opinion pieces) that no one else posts on their blog - to include this one. I see videos on this site I have never seen anywhere else, BUT I would never accuse Shawn or Damien of trying to hoax anyone.

I am also struck by the fact that there is really no reason for me to post here. Why? No one is really asking questions. I appreciate the support though from many who are posting here trying to set the record straight, as it allows me to answer questions and work with experts in various fields in reference to this photo. This photo has been shown to NOT be the "Clawed" Costume - and to perpetuate that it is the "Clawed" costume is simply wrong and mis-information. I would think the person who owns the company (John Healy of Healy FX) would know more than the director of the movie. The suit that was sold at auction, was the stunt suit, not what they call the "hero" suit.

This photo was also analysed and shown to be free of ANY photoshop manipulation. What you see in the picture, is in the picture - period.

I have never said I think this is a real bigfoot, nor have I said it is a hoax. Anyone who says I have made a definitive statement is also putting out misinformation. I released this photo for more than one reason. The most important being (and the one many forget) IF this is a hoax - this is a dang good hoax. IF this is a hoax - wouldn't you like to know what is in the pike for this community? I sure would. We complain all the time about hoaxing, I am doing what I can to prevent one - IF that is what this is.

Damien, it may have served your purpose well had you actually attempted to contact me personally to get my side of this before you assumed you were in possession of all the facts. Clearly you are not. I have also released new information which you have not discussed or disclosed to your readers. Those interested can go to my blog. But, you're right. I will NOT disclose the name of any witness - so you would be wasting your time. But, you would be hard pressed to get any decent researcher to disclose the name or information about any witness who wants to remain anonymous. So, I am no different.

Maybe you think it's fun to watch people be slandered and put down on the internet for something they can't explain - but I personally find it revolting. As such, the name of this witness will not be disclosed. If I have reason to believe this is a hoax, all bets are off - which I have said more than once on many forums.

No worries folks. I have not headed for the hills. I am simply working hard to get as much information as I can (with the help of experts) from this photo as possible. I do thank each and every one of you who have been kind enough to put your own bias aside and look at this objectively. Yelling hoax is easy, the difficult part is in figuring out why it's a hoax - or legit. That is true investigation. Remain objective, question everything - but stay true to yourself and your own gut. It will serve you well in this field of research. :)

I want to get to the bottom of this as much as anyone else. Those who say otherwise, do not know me.

  31. Mellisa with all due respect i do not like the fact that you are saying I do not have all the facts, truth being... what true facts have you put out besides you have one photo and that your trying to clear this up and you have contact with the witness.

Also if you have new info, then share it, I am not getting in your way, my view of this is just from one photo people are saying this is the real deal, which i disagree.

Also I do not have fun, seeing people ridicule someone else, thats not how I do things and you actually do not no me to judge my character.

On another note, not trying to be rude, I do not have anything to ask you because you already said you will not give anymore info on what you already stated. In no way have i attacked you personally, my questioning is of this one photo, not you Mellisa.

In my view whats wrong in trying to get to the truth, and i thought that any decent researchers job is tryin to get the truth of Bigfoot existence and show the world that this community is not a bunch of nuts.

If your witness does not want his indentity out, that is fine but lets get the other photos out, show the amazing other shots and end this debate.

In my view the way this was presented to the community was wrong, thats my personal view, if people agree with me or not they have that right.

But do not come on the blog and say I enjoy ridiculing people. At the end of it all is about proving Bigfoot exist, so lets do that, if you working to get the person to give you more photos great, but do not try to make me seem like I am the bad guy, I do not appreciate that.

  33. Damien,

With all due respect, I do not appreciate your misrepresentation of the facts behind this photo. If you want the facts, maybe you can pull up your journalistic integrity and actually send me an email.

Instead you have made accusations, misrepresented the facts and not once have you even gone to the source - that being myself. If you think this is a hoax, fine, then simply move on. Adding to the confusion is helping no one. Apparently you think you are the only person trying to get to the bottom of this mystery - I assure you - you are not.

The way this was presented initially had nothing to do with the "community" it was between myself and this witness. How you handle things is your business, I will handle things the way I wish to. I did not realize there was a right and wrong way of handling an investigation into a yet to be proven mystery. I will also tell you, my witnesses appreciate my honesty and the fact that I protect them - from everything. Yes, I am an advocate first. But, I do not EVER protect hoaxers. I loved how you allowed the comments about me allowing hoaxed photos on my blog to go unchallenged - yet you felt it necessary to challenge when people actually told you how they felt about this photo and it didn't jive with your beliefs.

When you said you would email me, but you already knew I would not answer questions about who the witness is, exactly what did you mean? Do I appear stupid to you? Don't cry foul now.

I appreciate people who work their butts off for the truth. If you are upset, well okay, but it doesn't appear to me you give two shakes about this witness or those who are working hard to get you those photos you want so badly.

There are a few people making assumptions based on ignorance. That helps no one. I would think, you would care about the information you put out to your readers. You don't have to ask me anything, everything new that is being discovered is on many sites you could do your homework. When the latest information from Healy FX was released here by Shawn, you took the photo and put a big red circle through it and basically snubbed your nose at it. Yeah, that tells me you want answers.

You know what I don't appreciate. Good people doing honest and hard work - and you thumbing your nose at them like you are the keeper of all knowledge. I never said anyone has to believe this is a legitimate photo of a bigfoot - or a hoax.

    But, your bias is showing.

A little honey goes a long way. A few questions might get you some answers.

    Just a friendly heads up.

  34. Melliaa I have nothing against you and have never stated anything slanderous, if I have slandered you, then copy and paste the words I use to do that,I am not going to fall for your attacks,in the end if you have the proof, then give it to the BF community.

You nothing to prove to me, prove it to the community.

    Damian Bravo

    ReplyDelete
  35. Where did I say you slandered anyone? I think you need to take 5 and read my comments again. I have nothing to prove to anyone - period. This photo won't prove anything - and I never said it would - although many are putting that in my mouth too.

I am simply looking for an answer to this. IF this is a hoax, how was it done. IF this is a hoax, how much did it cost to do it. Simply saying this is a hoax right out of the gate is so incredibly simple - the hard work is figuring out how it was done, and why.

You also have not acknowledged the fact there was no photoshop done to this photo -yet it has been said many, many times before. I said it here, and still you won't even acknowledge the comment.

My attacks? I come here and comment about your red circle slashes and misinformation and you say I am attacking you? You are not a victim so please don't play that game. You're too smart for that.

If you want to contact me and actually get the full story, you know how to get a hold of me. I doubt you will though. I bet you had your mind made up in the first 10 minutes. I'm just grateful others see the need to actually investigate this fully.

    1. Melissa, it is so good to hear from you on this.
I appreciate you taking the time to address this and remain in control and objective.

I think the comment about you having perpetrated hoaxes before upset me the most and of course it was by a brave very reliable person named Anonymous who gave lots of links and evidence...NOT!!!

This is what absolutely terrifies me about anyone who has pictures. The pictures do not remain the subject but the owner's life, reputation and history do.

As I said before-We all bring different experiences to examining what we see. It is by sharing those observations and opinions that I make my conclusions, not by judging others and what they say but objectively applying their observations and justifications to what I believe.

      Thanks again for your input.

    3. Blondie, those who make these unfounded accusations - should scare everyone. They are a menace to this community and tarnish everything we are trying to do. Constructive criticism is one thing, flat out lying is a whole other issue.

Bigfoot researchers are their own worst enemy.. Isn't that a sad thing?

  36. Ok damian, she just took your ass to school!

You're way off base dude as i dont know if the photo is hoaxed or not but im damn glad she released it. It appears that you looked at this as an opp to build credibility for yourself......maybe?

Btw, not attacking you as i enjoy the stuff you cover but think you were a little overboard on this one

  37. Bottom line is this unfortunately...now in saying this, I am NOT saying the photo is of a REAL creature. Over the short 7 years I've been in this research, I've become convinced that NO ONE will be satisfied with anything. You could have a dead one on a slab being dissected and most people won't believe. I know who at least two of the anonymous posters are in this thread and they know I know who they are. The photo was released for discussion. Melissa did NOT make claims the photo was of a real creature, point blank! I have seen more arguments about this photo being a hoax than I have the many shadows and tree stumps put out by people on Facebook, some with red circles around them to assist us idiots that can't see them. The photo was put out for discussion and for answers. If it is a hoax, it's a darn good one! If it's not a hoax, then good for them! But for people to come in here and just bash someone for posting a photo for discussion, get a life because yours is pathetic!!!

  38. Damian Bravo is just trying to gravy train Shawn's site and get attention put on him when he offers nothing in the way of usable or quality research and investigation. All I've seen from him so far is extremely poor grammar, a horrendous writing style, and old, tired takes. Putting out a Homo Sapiens Hirsuti article about 8 months late, and trying to coin the term again when it's not even established bigfoot is homo sapiens is just one example. The only thing I'm certain of is that it is no coincidence Damian Bravo's initials are DB, because he is absolutely a DB. D-Bag.

Nothing you stated is constructive it is just a cowardly attack.

I suggest you write some articles or don't read his if you're unhappy with his writing.

  39. I believe it is obviously the costume from Clawed, and if it aint, it is a costume from something else. Real creatures in the created order do not look like this. Hovey's story about an alleged anonymous emailer is very suspect and also very convenient to blame the now backfiring hoax on.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Much ado, even some hostility this morning in a few posts.

Ms. Hovey offered a delicate spin of Healey's words earlier in the comments. Based upon clipped quotes, what he said was that the original suit was not sold but left in Washington for contractural reasons. What he did opine is that IF this is a copy of a clawed suit (3 do exist) that the fur may have been removed and replaced with a longer multi-toned synthetic that appears to be on a laced mesh. Seems to me he is saying he sees a suit, just not exactly his suit, or what his suit looked like when it was in his possession. While it would be nice to file the issue of the Clawed suit away I do not think he did that.

Here are a few questions. You may feel like Rodney Dangerfield after taking the exam in "Back to School" if you tackle them.

    1. Did you know that Biscardi also got the same picture? If so, why not mention him by name instead of saying a few "researchers"?
    2. Have you seen the pictures of the synthetic werewolf hair? What do you think? What do you especially think of the medium and light density versions? Is this the type of product that Munn's was considering when he concluded likely a suit?
    3. What is the harm in releasing a general geographic area beyond the promise you would not? But there was a promise not to release the picture at all, right?
    4. Are the IP addresses tracking consistently with the location of the claimed photographer?
    5. Has the photographer provided you with a picture of the sophisticated multiple 35m zoom autofocus camera trap they installed? Why not? What harm can come from you seeing that? If not a picture, how about have him/her sketch out the layout and one of the individual units to resolve if they have that expertise? Have you considered or asked the witness about the difficulty of pre-setting a zoom lense to monitor a specific point? Did they have a reason on the zoom setting they used?
    6. Have you received descriptions of the other pictures from the witness? If so, did he/she offer up the money shot first, or is there another claimed photo that will resolve the question? I think I read that you seen only one picture, correct?
    7. Why did you not attempt to convince the witness to work with someone who had the resources of expertise, time, equipment and finances to document the situation better? Erickson comes to mind.
    8. Were there other methods of releasing the photo considered? Was the advantage of taking personalities and reputations out of the mix by releasing the photo anonymously considered? If it was and was rejected, why? If one of the goals was being able to nail down hoaxers who use the photo was the option of inserting a marker in the file or the photo itself considered? If it was and was rejected, why?

I think there are many lessons in this saga but number one is that still photography is not going to cut it for some people even in a perfect "non-personality tainted sasquatcher world". In the least people are going to want to see video of something do something extraordinary and out of the relm of human capacity.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Capacity yes and anatomy. It's relatively easy to spot the hoaxed videos that never get any of this right, so maybe we'll see more fake photos now because they're safer to put out there.

  41. The only thing we really learn from this photo, is that it proves why we see so few of them. The moment you release it, skeptics and all sorts of people attack you from all sides, in this case Melissa and the photo's not even hers. It's a risky business if you care about your own future, and maybe the Bigfoots'. All she did was make it public, she never claimed it was real but that people should make up their own minds, just like they should about Bigfoot in general. Conclude based on the evindence if you think they exist or not, for me I've seen and know enough to feel they do in fact. Whether this photo shows one, could be, but unless more is released we won't know.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Billy, Melissa, I understand what you're saying, but you had no right to release the photo when you did, per Melissa's own words...

Billy I'm embarrassed to say I know you... From what people say it's to be expected from Melissa, I don't know? I would however never expect it from you... You might want to seriously think about aligning yourself with someone else.

The Copyright laws were not intended to be used to antagonize people into giving up their ownership or copyright. That is basically what you have done. This person didn't need you to © it for him... That is automatic, no watermark is needed, or ©. That just shows you don't know your craft as you should, Paralegal?

You say he can sell it if he wants, but now because of you it's not worth anything? You had no idea if the person was about to sell his photo when you released it, by your own words? If he was you have damaged any chance of making any $$ off this photo... That was his right and not for you to decide. It was certainly not for you to decide on be half of US, the other researchers out there.

Hey even Tom Biscardi wouldn't show this photo...

Not sure why you would expect that from Tom, he is not known for his complicitness... Far from it, he moves with lighting speed when he smells $$$, the credibility of the photo or person makes no difference to him... He just knew it was a professional photo/suit thus worthless to him... Too bad you weren't as smart as TOM? WINK!

Most of your statements make no since, and your actions seems to be opposite of what you are saying... Enjoy your stolen moment in the sun, with your stolen, blackmailed photo... Hey and keep those game cams away from the street, MQ, LOL...

Hey check out my link, I think you all will like it... Melissa, no we are dismissing it because you have something to do with it... Billy?
