Mr. Shakycam Films Sasquatch On Thermal Somewhere In Georgia

This new YouTube video surfaced this evening and it's purportedly from an expedition somewhere in Georgia. The Sasquatch Hunters said the expedition was "huge" and they're planning to release more information about the video this Thursday.

According to the crew, they filmed this on February 3rd, and they think it might be a sasquatch. "The creature was about 75 yards away. When we first saw it, it was standing in the open. Then it moved behind a tree and started peeking at us," they said.

    2. Not even a straight on video of a video, but an off to one side angled video of a video. Are you kidding?

    1. They might have been better off keeping that video to themselves. I know how hard it is to get thermal video and I applaud and appreciate their efforts. But this video doesn't seem to show much.

    2. In beginning to look at this, we understand the null hypothesis as to this may be something of note or it may not.
So let’s examine the source. This video is posted by Youtube channel “sasquatchsociety” http://www.youtube.com/user/sasquatchsociety and shows video productions accredited to “The Sasquatch Hunters”. These videos are nothing that hasn’t been seen or done before and pretty run of the mill stuff. The things recorded could be real experiences or easily faked fabrications.
One red flag is a video on the channel entitled “the Sasquatch Hunters.com-Idaho”. The descriptions is as follows: “we get chosen to be on a show project sasquatch and fly to Idaho” and that’s it. Very short and non-descript. The intro of the video reads “On December 6th 2011. we were contacted about being on a show with Dr. Meldrum called Project Sasquatch.”
This group (Stacy Brown and Mat Roberts) does, in fact fly to Idaho and they meet with Dr. Jeff Meldrum in his lab. They have a short discussion in which Jeff is personable/friendly and shows several casts in his collection. Next we are in a small place with Jeff flying over the countryside. And that’s all we see of Dr. Meldrum. The rest of the video is of these guys making an armature video and clowning around. As far as being in any “Show”, lacking on their video are any crew members – no producer, no professional camera operator and no boom microphone. It’s just shaky (home movie time).
“Project Sasquatch”, as many of you may recall, is a show that is being but together by an on-line radio host Joe Mastroianni with the help of (or blessing of) Dr. Meldrum.
Mr. Mastroianni hosts “The Joe Show” On CyberstationUSA that has a listenership of around maybe 6 or 7 and rarely is even posted on Cyberstation’s listing. Our group had been contacted by Joe and we put together a “Finding Bigfoot” parody for him as a fun project. It looks like Joe is very keen on criticizing the Finding Bigfoot show. As far as Project Sasquatch, Joe is relying on others to basically make the show for him. It’s another ‘no budget’ production in my opinion with no semblance of serious quality or content. My hope is that Dr. Medrum bails from this, so called, project ASAP.
The Sasquatch Hunters have a web site. http://thesasquatchhunters.com that is fairly new and still under construction. They announced their first public hunt for this month. The site itself has very little in the way of offerings but it does look as if they are at least going through the motions of doing field research. They have a nice collection of audio clips with things like twigs breaking, possible foot-falls and other noises but nothing that couldn’t be easily reproduced by just about anyone.
I have to take this effort with several large hand-fulls of salt. I’m just not feeling it.

  9. can't wait to see the FB/FB breakdown! what say you?

  10. I'm sure we'd be able to see a lot more if the actual video was loaded instead of a video of a video. We can't even tell what this thing is.

  11. Here's what I see. I see a someone in a turtle suit
doing the shimmy way out in the woods. Geeze I wish I had
    a Turtle Suit....

  12. That could've been anyone out there... Like the crap they pulled on FBF with a crew member on thermal. Just send some dude out behind a tree and have him sway back and forth... ooooohhhhh... bigfoot.... Useless!

  13. Maybe I'm just getting old but please someone tell me where is the Sasquatch. I mean folks how could anything be less visable then this video !

    ReplyDelete
  14. Wow, it's hard to make anything out in this video. These folks need to make a system that mounts to the video camera and Flir if the FLIR they have does not record video.
If you don't have all the toys, you need to innovate. Oh man how I wish I had a FLIR.

  15. I hate videos of videos. I can't see anything in the video except what appears to be a sock blowing in the breeze.

  16. I used to suspect Bigfoot hunters and believers were complete buffoons and gullible imbeciles. Now the people I have observed on Finding Bigfoot, You Tube, and the Internet have removed all doubt.

  17. I was in a similar situation and in some ways got better footage, but still suffers b/c I was too passive. Next time you are out, if you do, appraoch gently your target. Force a reaction of some kind. That can be hard b/c night and in my case a bit of rugged country seperated us, but I do wish I had the chance again. Also, it is possible to mount your handycam on a rail in alignment with FLIR so you can handle as one piece.

    1. I think FLIR, based on experiences with many equipments, is the most promising now for amateurs. You can rent the 7i for about $450/month. This method seems preferable to any I used, of course it suffers b/c of resolution (720p), however with a handycam you are getting sound too, so make use of it! New about $2K...rent it!
