How to tell if someone is telling the truth about seeing a Sasquatch

A lot of times when you talk to someone and they swear about what they saw, it's difficult to judge whether or not they're telling you the truth. We've heard stories about bear hunters and fishermen and their encounters with Bigfoot, but how can you tell the difference between what's true and what's not when you finally meet them in person?

Professional lie detection experts usually look for a flash of emotion that tells them what witnesses are really feeling. This can come in the form of micro-expressions. Micro-expressions are expressions that your face produce that generally lasts half a second, sometimes 1/4th of a second. Most people don't notice these expressions unless they're looking for them. Some expressions come through as a hidden frown, and sometimes a raised upper-lip. These expressions makes it very difficult to hide a lie and they usually still come through no matter how hard you try to conceal your feelings.

Below is a video about two men in Alaska who both claimed they saw a Sasquatch. Their micro-expressions come through and show that they really believe they saw a Sasquatch.

  1. Interesting Shawn. Now FB/FB can go through all the witness testimonies on FB and analyze those and tell us if they saw a Sasquatch or not, for reals.

  2. This was from Monsters and Mysteries in Alaska (April 2010). This was from an amazing encounter that proves who is the Apex predator in all of North America.
At the end of a fishing day this man, a seasoned fisherman and his deck hand anchored about 50 feet off an island in the Alexander Archapelago region of SE Alaska. On the shore was a huge, estimated 11 foot, grizzly bear looking out at the two in the boat. After a while the bear became very nervous and then hightailed it down the beach running fast. Then from the woods out steps a huge Bigfoot. The fisherman described it as looking like a massive man, only hair covered and nine foot tall. After about 15 seconds of looking at the two, the bigfoot also took off running at a tremdous speed. The lady of course determined that the fisherman was telling the truth.

    1. I like shows that use experts trained in microexperssions. Wouldn't it be interesting to be able to tell if someone was lying to ya.

  5. I also study microexpressions and kinesics (body language) and microexpressions alone cannot be used to determine a lie versus the truth. Even if someone believes what they saw this still doesn't mean they saw a Bigfoot, it just means they believe what they saw is a Bigfoot. Suddenly everyone is a body language expert, but those who know how close this is to pseudoscience understand that only looking at one part of a person's testimony is like only reading one word in a sentence.
