How Sasquatch May Be Primal & Feral Yet Intelligent

There are those of us that believe an amazing bipedal being is currently living a very unconventional life in the vast forests and mountains of North America. We can try to imagine how Sasquatch is surviving and if this Hominoid has skills and genetic traits that we no longer have. Early Hominid species lived in an ever changing world that provided an abundance of resources, but it was a difficult life that resulted in the extinction of many of these species, never to be seen again. For those that flourished and evolved, the most common adaptations became part of the primal and feral instincts which seem to be less common in larger evolved brains, in which intelligence overcame those primal and feral needs.

On the Island of Madagascar, there are numerous species of Lemurs, and these species of monkeys not only survived but thrived. Scientists have discovered that during their evolution, some lemurs mutated in such a way that even certain species that are almost identical cannot interbreed due to their genetic makeup. Could it be that Sasquatch is a mutation that branched off in our family tree of hominids just like certain lemurs did?

The definition of primal is used to describe feelings that are like the feelings of animals and that seem to come from a part of human nature that has existed since ancient times. Feral species lacks domestication and is wild and untamed but does not define by any means the possible intelligence based on these factors.

The common traits that we as humans share with Sasquatch is the typical description of the bipedal walk and very human like characteristics. Yet, those specific and possibly genetic similarities are nothing compared to the fur that covers Sasquatch entire body and its superhuman physical abilities. These described abilities seem to be very primal and feral behaviors. Some witnesses have even reported seeing Sasquatch use its four limbs to run and pounce like an animal to catch their prey.

If Sasquatch has both of these genetic traits, which could possibly be a mutation of a particular hominid species, could this possible mutation have given those uncanny abilities often described by witnesses?

The world is full of species that evolved to imitate other specific characteristic and traits such as the Fossa, which looks and has the traits of a cat but is actually classified in the mongoose family (Herpestidae). This species has evolved cat-like traits and hunts like the larger cats of the Felid species but is from an entirely different family.

We as Homo sapiens have long left behind the need to use crude tools and the need to hunt. Our own primal and feral instinct to survive is more about maintaining a job in a society which has more of a demand on social and economic behaviors. We have become the Apex species on the planet. Our adaptability has at times been the greatest part of our success. Yet with all of this, we cannot be so arrogant as to think we are and will always be the top species on the planet. If Sasquatch does truly exist and this species has survived side by side with us, it would be a testament to nature’s constant evolution and that we still have so much to learn.

  1. A nice blog with some things to think about. I've heard the arguments about the Big guy being more like feral humans but everything I've heard about their activities seems to leave out important traits like tool making. Stories of bending branches, tree knocking and throwing rocks doesn't lend itself to even the most basic human characteristics of tool making. I have yet to see examples of rock flaking in possible areas of nesting for example.

  2. Sasquatch are covered with hair (human) and not fur Damian. Sasquatch are human and they're number one priority is maintaining anonymity in the forest. To use tools or have things would compromise that objective. Nonetheless, they don't need them. And btw, they are people that do speak just as we do. I think these articles and your perception of the sasquatch (versus first hand knowledge) are causing the masses to regress in their knowledge thereof. We already have speech and numerous people that have frequent close encounters imparting truth that is far different than your articles portraying them as some stupid hominid with fur. Hominids don't have fur and they are much more intelligent than us. Their capabilities far exceed our own in both physical stature and intelligence.

    1. Definition of Fur per Wikipedia Dictionary:

Fur is a synonym for hair, used more in reference to non-human animals, usually mammals; particularly those with extensive body hair coverage. The term is sometimes used to refer to the body hair of an animal as a complete coat, also known as the "pelage". Fur is also used to refer to animal pelts which have been processed into leather with the hair still attached. The words fur or furry are also used, more casually, to refer to hair-like growths or formations; particularly when the subject being referred to exhibits a dense coat of fine, soft "hairs".

So Fur is hair smart guy, like it says in the definition is because is a complete coverage of the body by hair. Read up on those things before you give your opinion.

  4. What about their thumbs? I find it difficult to believe BF is a feral human but they don't have opposable thumbs (based on hand casts).

    Yet they have human-like feet?

The combination of characteristics found on BF is very odd.

  5. Albert Ostman's description included basic tools, even making a crude blanket, and speech capability. His descriptions were matched to some extent by those of Seraphine Long. The question "how human is sasquatch?" will be unanswered until we get reliable observation set up. Some witnesses have even indicated that sasquatch can train birds for their purposes, much as humans do. The scientific community needs a good long term study in a habitat, and unfortunately many of these primates are migratory, or if we determine they're closer to human we'll be forced to call them nomadic. In the end we may be forced to set up reservations/preserves for them.

    1. Reservations? Oh, good heavens I hope not!! If that's the case then they would be MUCH better off not being "officially" recognized.
I wonder if the Hairy Folk would be particularly susceptible to our diseases? Remember, this is what originally killed most of the Native American population.

    2. We have been tryng for FORTY years or better to just get decent footage.....
      really, learn anything about them...

And both of you two above in a couple paragraphs have decided that once we identify them.....
we may have to put them on a reservation??????

      HOW???

      WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN SMOKING???

      SIERRA CLUB MEMBERS HUH!

  6. I wonder if they do exist, if some of their traits aren't a direct result of evolutionary pressure from us, if humans wiped out all but the most naturally elusive, shy and remoteness loving of their species that would create a genetic bottleneck, where the species becomes fundamentally elusive to humans. They seem to live in places most inhospitable to us savannah loving humans.

  7. "Watch as I completely make up a scenario and get footers to buy into it.."

Seriously, you people don't require ANY evidence do you? It's like religion for you. You want it to be true, so anything to the contrary gets hand waved away or shouted down...... That's friggin sad
