Check Out This Review Of David Paulides' New Book: Missing 411

David Paulides is the man who initiated the Bigfoot DNA project. He's also the guy who hired Dr. Melba Ketchum to lead the study to help prove the existence of Bigfoot. He's written a few popular books, including a brand new one that just came out titled "Missing 411".

Unlike his other two books (The Hoopa Project, Tribal Bigfoot), his new book is not really about Bigfoot. It's about people who have disappeared in the wilds of North America. Paulides explains the unusual disappearances of these people. He claims nobody has ever studied the archives for similarities, traits and geographical clusters of missing people, until now.

Here's a short review by Jeffery Pritchett, if you're interested:

Missing 411 is a book by David Paulides that need not be over looked or ever forgotten. The book is about missing people in North America and Canada that have been unsolved and unexplained. The book goes into each individual case and describes the scenario and facts of what happened. Some people vanish and then are found later with strange facts surrounding the circumstances. Others are never found and the book highlights on the events in honor of these missing people, alot who are taken from National Parks. The National Parks cover it up and do not maintain lists of these missing people or let it be known to the public. When David Paulides and company tried to get them to compile a list they wanted over a million dollars to do so.

The book tries not to offer reasons or how these people vanished but evidence putting together a peculiar puzzle of how it happened. No one knows what happened to these people. Some would speculate common facts like kidnappers etc but as you read more and more into the book you begin to wonder if its something supernatural or even weird. But David never goes into this on his radio appearances or in the book in honor of the families who are having to go through these tragedies.

Because this is about the missing people and to turn into a circus side show of speculation of strange stories would be a dishonor to the people missing and the emotions of their loved ones and families. After speaking to David myself on the phone and asking him what he thinked happened. He explained this to me and I found it honorable that he would not divulge that information publically in respect of those going through the ordeals of losing loved ones in such peculiar unexplained ways.

Once I read this book I knew I had to get David on The Church Of Mabus radio show to discuss this. So me and Guy Weddle have made a special Sunday prerecorded show that will be placed on the archives after wards on April 1st Sunday. We hope you will tune in and help get the word out and pick up the book and visit the websites below to learn more and share this article on your walls to help raise awareness about this subject.

  3. Hmmm, well this same argument has been used before.Except it involved UFO's.

There's nothing scientific about shoehorning an effect into a cause. It doesn't work in reverse.

  4. Paulides is a sick, mentally unstable man who has tried to intimidate other researchers with bluff legal threats. Most researchers know this man has many issues leading back to his time in the sjpd where his troubles were documented by local newspapers. His involement in this dna study, along with m ketchum is very troubling as they are both paranormalists who have tried to manipulate testing to mirror their beliefs. Im very worried about what lies ahead in this field...be prepared for a major letdown.

    1. I enjoyed his book tribal bigfoot but noticed some paranormal undertones (ufo's and such) so this is not surprise.

I saw somewhere that paulides has been tied to the Bluff Creek massacre theory which i think MK was off his rocker on that one & can't understand anybody sane supporting it.

all that aside, I may have to pick this book up though as missing people is an interesting sujbect, thats for sure.

    2. What makes you think m ketchum is a paranormalist? That's the first I've heard that?

    3. Um lets see, Close friend of arla williams nut from OK whom melba tried to downplay and lie assoc with but gets out in the woods w often seeing invisible bigfoots, this nonsense about bigfoots appearing at ketchums property and horse braiding, lindsay mentioned her belief in dna being alien etc...

    4. Well, you can't believe anything on Lindsey's blog until it is confirmed by someone with a little more dignity and sense.

Let's just say that I know from personal experience.

    5. Ok forget that part of lindsays blog regarding "alien dna" though i know she believes this and lindsay actually got this right. Are you trying to say she doesnt believe now in paranormal bfoots, says bfoots braid her horses hair and hasnt been out w arla williams in the last month or two? If u say you yes you are a liar or very ignorant and not speaking from firsthand knowledge.

  8. I just got the book yesterday and couldn't put it down. He presents the facts of each case as told by SAR, law enforcement, etc. In other words, just the straight-up "official" story of each disappearance is very intriguing.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There is nothing official about it. Paulides took stories from newspapers and cherry-picked them to make them fit. Most of the TRASH in his recent books is just that! If you fact check you will see he BS'ed most of it in hopes nobody would discover it. Look for yourself. Take the Jay Toney case, compare Paulides version with the newspaper accounts.

      Delete
    2. Oh yes, the newspapers always report nothing but the facts? Generally they report without too much question whatever it is the official minions of the day tell them.

  9. BF has 'NEVER' been proved to exist by 'ANYBODY' if it was then end game. So how can you attribute anything to bigfoot?. Doesn't accidents, pot growers, lunatics, animal attacks or more make more sense?

    Very serious question.

    1. I've read the book and it's the story of people who have disappeared in the mountains. He doesn't point fingers at what may be causing this but he did a masterful job showing there are clusters of missing with timelines pointing to facts that this has been happening for decades. The book grabbed my interest immediately and I couldn't put it down. A great read that any person who enjoys the outdoors must read.

Let's see. Bigfoot researcher, a few books on bigfoot, a site devoted to bigfoot and whoa hold on.....

Of course he's indirectly pointing these disappearances to bigfoot. Wake the FUCK up....

  20. I have followed the progression of certain individuals in the field. For example I understand many of the methods used by Todd Standing and see how he leapfrogs forward on his tales. It was also my hunch that led to catching him making shill comments from the same IP Address on a few forums & blogs. I've also watched Paulides AND the field's response to him. While he may have spoken rashly to Mike Rugg in the past, that may very well be the only thing Paulides has done wrong. While I wasn't there, I did hope he had apologized to him. But what Coleman later said about Paulides a few years ago was just more Coleman trying to control the field. I spoke with Paulides about some of the games that people play and I also had a hunch that what Coleman was saying with respect to MKDavis wasn't true. Paulides' professional background is as a police investigator and that's exactly what he was doing with respect to the bigfoot massacre theory, he was investigating it plain and simple. There is absolutely nothing wrong with investigating. He never promoted the theory as fact as claimed by some.

This field is indeed full of amateurs, I count myself as part of that league in many respects. However I have had the benefit of a number of encounters over the decades and I do my best to exercise common sense and a certain level of research. I am very adept in the outdoors and I don't see every interesting natural shape as somehow coming from bigfoot. Mother Nature is a very creative artist on her own. Anyway where I am going is, Paulides is professional about things using his own background profession. He seems to go through investigations fairly methodically and I suspect this isn't generally at a speed most can appreciate. He understands the steps that are necessary in developing a hypothesis. He does his research. I can also see that some seem to be threatened by the progress he has made. He has a network in law enforcement available to him and that is a major asset in his focus area. He is doing his job and many may simply need to accept this.

I spoke with him about the missing boys from Crater Lake a few yrs ago as it is something I had researched as well. It will be interesting to see what else he has to say about it and what he may have learned since. Maybe I will hear from him on this? Just like he has done in his book though, I never would come out and attribute their disappearance to sasquatch. This is out of respect for the families and everyone needs to keep this in mind.

Paulides as well as others in this field (myself included) know there is something else going on that most bigfooters don't want to believe about bigfoot. These beings aren't all benevolent as some might think. They aren't stupid and they aren't merely elusive. They aren't just some extant ape. In fact they are very complex. Even with the DNA, I doubt we will learn the full story as there will be further curve balls. I used to believe they could be learned about using the Goodall method, but no, this will never happen because they won't allow it.

One of these days I'd like to sit down with Paulides and discuss a few matters that we've chatted about in the past and others. We were supposed to in the past but that never happened. I think everyone else may want to be a little more open minded to what he brings forward too, because he is mostly expressing what he finds from witness testimony.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I believe that there are areas in the country where this stuff happens and that certain types or tribes of sasquatch are taking people for various reasons. It is just a theory but I after reading the book I am really starting to believe it.

  22. Part 1
There are so many 'armchair' theorists stating their opinions as facts...and they've never been outside of their front yard in the field doing any actual research themselves. Yet they spout their theories as if they have facts they have found or discovered! Do some of MK's findings contradict what is supposed to be the experts views and opinions? Yes, and he backs this up with film footage to support his findings and trying to shed a 'real' look at the films, and other evidence out there. If you go against the professional status quo in any field they will do their best to discredit you and your work. It makes no difference if your findings can be supported and shown to be factual, if it goes against the long standing grain of the 'experts' opinions, they will try to discredit you and your work. After all, how would their standing in the community be affected if their long standing work was found to be flawed or partly inaccurate?

I've been in the field, with cave exploring, casting of hand/foot prints, to the actual location of the Patterson filming (yes, the cable is still there next to the creek), and some other doings with field research on a limited basis. I'm still a fledgling in this arena, but I have no doubts there is something out there, be that we call it a bigfoot, humanoid, wildman, or ?, there is too much evidence to absolutely and factually prove otherwise. Stop and ponder about how many new species of bugs, animals, fish and plants that are 'discovered' each year, yet folks said these did not exist or were extinct hundreds of years ago. A very basic example: how many people have seen a rubber boa snake in the woods? Yet they are out there. Yes, there have been rubber boa snakes seen and captured and filmed, but how many have actually seen them in the wild? Has bgft been seen or filmed, yes, though many doubt the reporting of this - and what facts do these people who say the stories and pictures are not correct have? Mostly their personal armchair opinions, not facts. If I had 3 wishes, one would be to elimnate the self serving egos of people...
    Please read Part 2

  23. Part 2
No,I do not know, nor have I ever met Mr. Paulides, and I've not read any of his books - yet. Is his work 100% spot-on with exactness, I don't know? Neither do you folks. As with any book being written, the author implants his views and opinions along with factual information. What author is 'perfect', just as none of us out here are 'perfect'. Yet we all have credibility to one degree or another, so do authors, no matter what the topic. Folks submitting their opinions/reviews here have their credibility and opinions on what they perceive from what they see or hear or read. So do authors. When threshing wheat to sift the chaff from the wheat, a lil' bit of chaff gets through. I've not read Mr. Paulides books (yet), so I'll not give an opinion or review - and if you haven't read the author's books, perhaps you shouldn't either. That's fair to ask, isn't it - of course it is, we all know that.

AND if you haven't been out in the woods or desert or mountains with actual research, perhaps you should consider what you voice as your opinion is based on 'facts', not on your self perceived armchair theory sitting there at home! I mean no disrespect to anyone out there, please to understand this. Yet, if all you have is armchair theory, at least consider giving consideration to those who have been, and are still out in the field, doing actual research.

Thank you all for your time and understanding, Bear

If you don't want to read the book, then that is your right, but go somewhere else and spew your negativity and hate. I found this book to be fascinating and could not put it down. I have traveled many times to hunt and hike by myself, and will never do it again. If you ever have that feeling you are being watched in the woods, chances are you are. This book should be in every bookstore across the country, Great Job Mr. Paulides, looking forward to the East Coast book now.

  50. You messed up on some of the facts about Paulides book "Missing 411". He doesn't "Claim" nobody has ever studied the archives for similarities, traits and geographical clusters of missing people, until now. He straight informs you that yes nobody has....SCIENCE FACT. This is of key importance to separate David from the money making story telling liars, conspiracy theorists, or fiction writers.

Also, another inaccuracy in this blog -although I'm sure this blog means well- is that YES there is a stone-walling concerning the compiling of the missing persons list and NO it's not by the National Parks but by the FBI. When David used the Freedom of Information Act as a tool to obtain the documents, FBI illegally refused using manpower resource costs as a excuse additionally refusing to EVER give the case file of Stacy Arras who disappeared from the edge of a lake off the Sunrise Meadows area of Yosemite within a 100-yeards of a old man with only the lens cap of her camera ever being found after a massive search.
