Mike Rugg Had Predicted The Patterson-Gimlin Event 6 Months Before It Happened

In last week's Bigfoot Discovery Museum Show, Mike shared a couple of stories from his scrapbook collection he started since he was 5 years old. While writing a parody story about the "Man-Animal" for the April 1967 issue of Stanford humor magazine, The Chaparral, Mike was essentially predicting the famous Patterson-Gimlin event that wasn't going to occur until 6 months later at Bluff Creek, CA.

Watch below:

Comments

  1. Mike has had the passion since the early 1950s.
Fabulous. Think of all the high hopes and disappointments he has went through in these 60 plus years in Bigfootology. It is for people like this that I hope vindication comes.

  2. Oh! Thanks for all you have given to this field, and the many people you have touched and given a greater awareness to these past 60 years Mike. KEEP PUSHIN ON.

  3. I predict a man will don an ape suit and walk across a landscape left to right. That man's friend will record blurry video of this action and post it online. I predict that video will be discussed in this forum.

    1. Exactly what are you and your brother doctors of?
Is it anything that gives your opinions greater weight than those of others?
Please enlighten me,I am curious to know your background.

  4. Visiting Mike at his museum one afternoon he remarked " if Patricia Patterson (Roger's wife) ever announced the film as a hoax, I'd have to ask myself what I'd done with my life" .yikes.

  5. Me thinks "Dr. Ranes" above is really someone else in disguise (LOL) who frequents this forum and wants to stir the pot....

    1. JN: Dr.(Ronnie) Ranes is my brother and fellow scientist.

We write a blog together titled, "Science Matters" and to us, it does.

I'm not saying he's not stirring the pot, because he's been known to raise the hackles of pseudoscientists, but he's absolutely real.

    5. Wow guys, defensive much. True, Ronnies comments are definitely one sided, but instead of getting heated maybe we should try to find out these guys credentials amd open a dialogue like civilized folk. I'm not saying that the likes of Robert Lindsay deserve your time, but maybe if these guys are actually scientists there might be a way they look at something down the line that could be illuminating. Instead of closing yourself off to skepticism we should all be open to it. No matter what we have seen with our own eyes, it will never be a reality with its own right to protection until it is proven by scientists.
Seems to me the second you start bashing this guy, who has only stated his own opinion, this comment section becomes like the comment section of every other Bigfoot forum. You want the man to be open to your ideas then you should be open to his, even if they are written with sarcasm. Hopefully the guys a legit scientist, and if so I personally don't care if he believes or not. I'm just glad he finds this subject interesting enough to comment on. I would like to hear a true scientific assessment of what he thinks is happening. A breakdown of how he thinks the pieces we see as evidence have all been hoaxed. Just trying to remain objective guys, we could all use some friends with legit credentials to round this one sided discussion out. Just sayin, John

    6. Well said, Anon John. Time will tell if Dr. Ranes is interested in two way discussion, or simply here to make inflammatory remarks. I would love a scientific assessment of some posts here, as long as they're not all along the tried-and-true lines of, "there is no scientific basis to support these claims". Of course there isn't! Most of us are acutely aware of this. We are here to discuss the subject, not ignore it... Maybe someday there will be a "basis" for science to weigh info against, but until then, I am still interested in ALL other's interpretations. Shawn does an awesome job of putting ALL the available info (for better, or worse) on here and lets the reader make up their own mind.
I love science and think it matters very much! I also know how flexible it is (and isn't)... I get the most excited when science begins to bend in a new direction!

  6. I just returned from the proctologist in fact; the problem seemed to be that Justin Smeja's book and Ketchum's DNA paper were lodged in too tightly. Afterwards, I seemed afflicted with the strange gait seen in the PGF creature

  8. Well, fair enough "Drs" Ranes. It's a free country. Must be a slow day in the "science" world. Stir away!

Fair warning: be prepared to take exactly what you dish out here. Us regular folk on this site tend not to hold back (as you can see). A suggestion...you should mosey on over to Bigfoot Forums and start a thread there too. I (and others) would love to see that!
