Finding Bigfoot: CANADIAN BIGFOOT, EH? Episode Tonight!

This is a reminder for all you Todd Standing fans out there. For the first time on TV, you will see a professional investigation of Todd Standing's  Bigfoot footage filmed in a secret valley called "Sylvanic" somewhere in Canada.

Here's the story if you can't wait:

The Animal Planet team is heading to Canada, where they search for “what may be the most territorial Sasquatches on earth” in the Canadian Rockies.

Yet another Bigfoot encounter is caught on tape, luring the Bigfoot Field Research Organization television team to the Canadian Rockies to have a look and determine the validity of the video. However, the video is in question from the beginning, as “Todd’s [the owner of the video] reputation is very controversial in the Bigfoot community,” according to Bigfoot researcher Cliff.

“I’ll tell you what happened,” Todd says to the group. “My crew and I scouted out this area as a potential Bigfoot ‘hot spot,’ I guess you’d call it. As most people know for Bigfoot, they are nocturnal. And, we found three daywatchers, as we call them, that watch over the main group. We know that when they become alerted to your presence they move back to the main group. So, what were were doing, is we were trying to get as close as we could behind a daywatcher, so when she would come back to the main group, she would have to come back across this rock face, and that was when we were going to videotape her. Something that we didn’t anticipate was when the whole group is alerted to your presence, they don’t just ditch the daywatchers, they come back and make sure they are safe. I believe that was a large male in the video, and what he was most likely doing is standing up to let the daywatcher, the female, come by, and then he got back down and followed her back to the main group. I started to feel a lot of fear at that point, because he was enormous, he was beastly huge. It made me scared, I was afraid, I started to think, ‘What the hell have I gotten myself into?’”

After hearing his story, the group sent their regular Sasquatch stand-in, Bobo, to the area of the cliff seen in the video, to recreate the scene. Ranae, apologetically, said she thought it could be a person in a suit, while Bobo, not shockingly, dubbed it a Bigfoot. Surprisingly, Matt said he believes it is a hoax. “I think that’s a guy in a costume,” he states.

Todd, the owner of the video, says that he understands the doubts, why the team cannot rule out a man in a costume. “It can always be something else. Science needs a body,” he says.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that the team cannot find their own Bigfoots in the area. Out in the Canadian Rockies wilderness, during a nighttime research expedition, Matt and Bobo are sure they are hearing Bigfoot calls, while Cliff and Ranae initially thinks it is coyotes. Soon, however, the two are turned onto the idea that it could be Bigfoots calling in the night.

Finding Bigfoot airs tonight at 10 p.m. (ET) on Animal Planet.

  1. Todd doesn`t sound at all emotional when when he describes his experience of being scared. It sounds rehearsed and regurgitated.
he doesn`t take the crew to the original spot. Why not?
After watching the Called Out episode he was in,I very much doubt he has a secret area.
I don't find Todd to be credible at all.

  2. Good point SN! It reminds me of Smeja's recounting of his supposed BF shooting. Still, I can't help but think of Standing and the Sylvanic project as a giant doobie-smoking hippie commune in the woods. Just hope it doesn't end up like Waco.

  3. Standing is no doubt a controversial character. I still don't think it was cool of Moneymaker to straight up call him a hoaxer though. I gotta say though, if he is a hoaxer, those close up facial photos would be some of the boldest bigfoot hoaxes ever. No blobsquatches there, whether they are authentic or not. I guess I give the guy the benefit of the doubt just because he's been doing this for quite a few years and makes such bold claims that I can't imagine anyone wanting to do that if they didn't feel like they had the goods. There have been many hoaxers over the years I know, but how many of them stretched the hoax out for seven or eight years?

  4. I have been looking forward to this all day (after my Pats won) This is going to be nuts, you have Standing pissed he was shot down about his video, and him calling out BFRO saying the calls they will here are from Cows near a ranch.

FB needs to step it up a little, because the first few episodes have been a drag. I can't wait to read the recap from Shawn and Autumn tomorrow.

  5. Why do you deem this a 'professional' investigation? Do they not do exactly the same thing week after week with exactly the same result? In this episode they brand Todd Standing as a hoaxer(which he is) yet have no trouble finding hints of bigfoot everywhere on their own albeit without any proof. When do you give up on the same tired meme and look for some better things to watch? I am done with this ridiculous program.

  6. To Broski's first post... that is exactly why I did not watch tonight.

Someone soon is going to come up with something better if they don't do something I'm afraid.

Kinda like I got tired of Josh Gates after a while, they rarely found anything but his personality made the show.

Maybe we are looking at it from our point of view and not that it's for those who know little about Bigfoot. I don't know.

  7. Lol. Gary you know what the definition of insanity is? Watching this show and expecting different results.
After watching this show and previews for next weeks show, I have determined the reason Renae doesn't tweet about it anymore is because she is leaving the show. Matt and her but heads a lot and she seems a little fed up with traveling around and never finding a thing.

  8. Well Blondie how much do any of us really know about Bigfoot? All I know is after another show with nothing at all, they better deliver next week or its adios for me. I liked Destination Truth and Josh Gates they always had something to analyze. Plus ryder is hot.

  9. @Autumnforest. ..You keep saying' you've seen bigfoot on this blog!.... Has anybody ever questioned your story?. The thought of a ghost hunter having a bigfoot sighting, sounds like B.S. To me!

  10. I actually think Shawn did an entire post on Autumns' bigfoot experience.

But like everything else on this blog, read it and come to your own conclusions.............something tells me your mind is already made -up though.

But even if it is,(your mind made up) why not offer some interesting dialect instead of the same old retoric heard from every skeptic out there!

    Heres the link!

  11. To me, any time the Footster gets this kind of mainstream coverage it can only be a good thing, but brother, this show is getting old and FAST. MONSTERQUEST was infinitely better IMO.

  12. @Beer-man, I guess I have a issue with Autumn, calling somebody a liar"General"!! ... Rumor has it that a sample from the "sierra kills" is part of the Ketchum DNA study! . I'm hoping that we get some answers about BF. Soon!

  13. His real name is Todd Rockford and he knows his way around editing video since he runs a commercial studio for mostly businesss clients. Th first video he did was thye only convincing work I have seen of his it did look big.

  14. In my opinion, Fraud Standing is basically a criminal, a con artist and a pathological liar. I have a friend who is big in the Bigfoot scene in Canada, and he won't go to any conferences if Standing is going to be there because he says if he sees Standing, he's going to punch him in the face. That's how much people hate Standing. Yet his hoaxes are so good that he has many believers in the community. There is no place called Sylvanic and Fraud has never been there in the first place. He was never trapped there, and he never got rescued by Mounties. Almost everything Fraud says is a lie.

However, I must say that that very first video he did is very good, and it may even be a video of a Bigfoot.

Maybe he shot a BF, and then tried for a long time to shoot another one and then started hoaxing. We have a long history in this field of people who shoot good videos or get good evidence and then also hoax other videos, photos or evidence. He wouldn't be the first.

Fraud also appears a bit mentally unstable. He shows up with no rain gear, is soon soaking wet with chattering teeth, yet he says the weather is great? Is he crazy?

Keep in mind that Fraud has sold some of his faked and hoaxed lying videos for cold hard cash to both rich people and to Joe Blow as DVD's. The guy's a crook.

  15. I fear so too. I mean, those muppet heads. Come on. That first video of a big Bigfoot hiding down, could be fake too. I've said before, he's done some good stuff by drawing attention to the subject and trying to get the species protected. Problem is of course, you need to prove the species real first, then protect. So if he has the goods why not show them, and have the species declared real thus protected? It just reeks of dishonesty, I'm afraid. The very opposite of Dr. Ketchum's attitude and operation.

  16. If you watch the video it looks as if the Squatch in question uses his right hand to balance himself when he squats down. I have a hard time believing that an 8 ft tall animal needs to do that.
