Examiner.com Editor Has Bones To Pick With Rick Dyer About Hunting For Bigfoot In Canada

"We want to thank Canada for their support." - Rick Dyer

According to Rick Dyer last week, he was recently granted permission to bring firearms into Canada to hunt for Bigfoot. Whether you took him seriously or not, there were some obviously questions about this.

In an article by Jeffery Pritchett, an editor for Marianna Paranormal Examiner, he has a few questions for Dyer. For example: What are his intentions?

Will he observe accepted forensic protocol to preserve the body properly from field to lab, or does he intend to just drag it out of the woods to wherever regardless of damage to the victim? If he bags such a large creature in the middle of nowhere, what’s his plan then? God forbid if he decides to field-dress it! Does he even want the body to be examined for complete and irrefutable scientific confirmation? Will he be willing to surrender it? Has he confirmed where the body will be examined, or does he intend to display it for a cover charge or to sell the rights to the creature? Does he look at this permit as carte blanche to do anything he wants? Per his video, he seems to believe it!

What are his scruples, his ethics? Mr. Dyer has a less than stellar reputation since his infamous 2008 hoax debacle. His credibility is still in serious doubt, and I haven’t seen any proof that he’s working seriously on improving it. Now the biggest concern of skeptics and scientists alike is that if he actually does shoot a Bigfoot creature (and not anyone else accidentally in the area) is that he will not treat this event as one of the biggest steps ever toward one of the biggest scientific breakthroughs in recent history. If he takes control of the whole situation, how will anyone ever truly find out what we need to know?

  1. Oh, jeez, can Dyer be our poster boy for all that is rotten in BF world, all the big ol' boys with guns and a six pack around a campfire and bullshit stories? I'm surprised anyone asked him to come forth with actual intentions, plans, and promises. That'd be useless. One time fooling CNN, shame on Dyer. The next time, shame on CNN.

  2. I wonder if the State of Georgia will give me permission to hunt that guy.

  3. I, like so many others with a science/medical education, will NOT believe in BF until a guy like this puts one on the Pathologist's metal table. Of course it will be the same as Smeja and so many others "i shot one! oh yeah but I felt so bad I just left it laying in the woods".......Kill one for real and prove me wrong!!

  6. I don't get it.. The post the other day referring to the Finding Bigfoot show said that Canada won't let them film their show in Canada without Canada retaining ownership or rights to the film. Now this guy says he has legal authority from the same government (Canada) to hunt and kill a Bigfoot. So many questions......

I reckon' the only thing that makes sense is that this ole' Ga boy is pullin' everyone's legs or tryin' to.

  8. Someone needs to take the time to hold this wannabe redneck (he ain't even redneck status) accountable and watch him run and hide in that little shack in back of his mama's house.

  10. It's wrong anyway to shoot a new primate, you don't even do that to new species discoveries of monkeys or apes in the deepest darkest parts of Africa (unless you're a deplorable criminal poacher creep), let alone to a humanlike bipedal primate right in America. I mean, what kind of primitive caveman mentality is that, that's just 100% wrong any way you look at it. And I personally don't care whether skeptics won't believe it otherwise, not now when solid DNA proof's coming. Hopefully.

  11. Hi Autumn,
I was the one who made the comment about Ketchum a few stories back. If it makes you feel any better, I think that you are hot too...

Ya that's a load of Bs.
From what I believe he has a record so the moron wouldn't even make it across the border, let alone shoot anything other than his own foot. Which would be impossible do to the fact it's so far up his......... you know where I'm going.lol

  13. In Canada you might have to get permits for shooting a show on Crown land or private property for that matter, but everything else is the same as the U.S.

Like our American brothers we just generally ignore certain rules. lol

  14. Mike-I think the comment you were talking about was from an anonymous poster(filming in Canada).
Like Timothy said, you just need to purchase a permit for filming.
A few months ago I was in Kananaskis Country (Alberta) and there was a posted sign stating a permit was issued for filming purposes. It named the company and dates the permit was valid.I even spoke to the security guy for an hour since it was snowing.
Canada just doesn't claim rights to film productions.
Pay your fee and carry on.I think the Anon poster claiming to be with FB was pulling our chain.

I still think Slick Liar....I mean Rick Dyer is fabricating yet another lie. It's obvious that he feeds off the attention.
Once I get my letter from the Gov. of Canada explaining Ricks alleged permission,it will be shared with everyone.I won't even post it on my own blog,I'll just send it to Shawn.
Hoaxers need to be shut down.Rick Dyer has NO credibility.I feel sorry for the newbies who fork out hard earned cash to go on and "expedition" with him.
I hope I don't see him in my neck of the woods.
