The Difference Between Sasquatch Footprints And Yeti Footprints
Editor’s Note: This is a guest post by William Jevning (@bukwas01), 38 year veteran sasquatch investigator, and author of "Notes From the Field, Tracking North America's Sasquatch". Read more about Jevning at his Bigfoot blog, Bigfoot Researcher.
Over many years now, more has been reported about the Sasquatch than the Yeti. This was the opposite when the wildman first got news coverage. Many people think they are the same species, but their footprint structure is different.
The Sasquatch are more humanlike in appearance and design while the Yeti look more apelike. The top photograph is of mountaineer Eric Shipton who in the early 1950's found and photographed a line of Yeti tracks. The next photograph is a single track in the line Shipton found. The third picture is the line of tracks Shipton found. The fourth picture is of a plaster cast I have of a Yeti track.
I was wondering if anyone had noted the difference. You figure, if these beings came from Asia and across the land bridge, they would evolve differently over time. If it's true that Native Americans and Asians share DNA, then there is an obviously isolated group of descendants who evolved with different characteristics. Intriguing.
ReplyDeleteMaybe a sasquatch broke its toe skiing in Asia
ReplyDeleteThat's it?!?
ReplyDeleteWell, this week DNA research has indicated a strong possibility of the Altai region as the proverbial homeland of the tribes that crossed into N. America. If you look at the current Altay people you see very strong similarities in both physical appearance and cultural practices. The Alamas is also located in the Altai region so the "wild man" stories are connected to both Asia and N.America with essentially the same/related people over thousands of years.

Good stuff!
DeleteYeti feet seem to have more prehensile ability in the big toe. Also foot not as long. The foot cast looks convincing, but the snow tracks you show are just leopard tracks, I think.
ReplyDeleteThe big toe to me looks like the one in the redwood forest video. As the toe splays down when he walks over the log. I maybe wrong it but it looks like it.
ReplyDeleteI think he broke his toe skiing in Asia...Autumnforest is beutiful
