Autumn Forest Talks About Her Bigfoot Encounter And Why She Writes About Bigfoot On Her Ghost Hunting Blog
We all know that Autumn Forest loves to comment about Bigfoot-- but did you know that her interest in Bigfoot started with an encounter?
Back in the mid 1980s, while hiking in the Sierras with her then-husband at the time, Autumn spotted something dark coming out of a brush as it walked into a clearing on two legs. According to Autumn, the creature had a loose-limbed gait, large strides, and long arms. From her perspective, it was "very dark brown" and it seemed medium brown where the light hit the part facing her.
There were a few other people who were with her on the hike who didn’t see what she saw, but she kept it to herself since her knowledge in Bigfoot at the time led her to believe that the creatures existed only in places like Washington State.
"I didn't know California had sightings and even though I had seen film on TV of the Patterson-Gimlin film, I did not recall hearing where it was taken. We didn't have internet then and Bigfoot was not 'in' at the time, so no one was putting on specials or documentaries on TV about it," wrote Autumn.
She learned later on in life that what she saw back then was definitely not a man and it absolutely was not a bear.
"There simply was no other way to explain what was a very organic, natural, fur-covered, upright walking creature."
The Bigfoot sighting, along with other unexplained occurrences in her life was what led her to search for answers. Her blog is a reflection of this passion.
"If you ever wonder why I run a ghost hunting theories blog, then you must not read the blog. I am hounded by my very logic-minded side and the witness I have been to some extraordinary things. Still, I am not one to jump right to the woo-woo or spiritual realm. These things launch themselves in our physical world for us to see, hear, smell, feel and so they work in the natural world. It is that natural realm I hope to pursue answers that ring true."
"Hope you continue with me as I make more theories and test them."

Thanks. It was a crazy "outing" for me, but at least people might understand where I'm coming from.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the story...hard to see why you're such a hard nosed skeptic though, having had your own experience to know they exist.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy reading Autumn`s perspective on things because I find her to be a rational thinker, but a romantic at heart. This doesn`t get in the way of her thinking,it`s just something I`ve noticed.
ReplyDeleteI find her story believeable because in my opinion,I think she is trustworthy.
We all see things we can`t explain.
This is something I`ve never told anyone, only my brother knows because I was with him at the time.
We had an out of town trip I was helping him with because he broke his leg.We were driving back to Calgary on the Q.E.2 at about 1 a.m.
It was dark and overcast. My brother was driving and we were quiet, just looking around.
Out of no where this green orb passed by the truck. It was partially covered by fog,but it was distinct and about the size and colour of a green traffic light,or so it appeared anyway.
Neither of said anything until I looked over at him.
All he said was "you saw that too?".I said "yup" and that was it.We never brought it up again just because we couldn't explain it.
No swamps nearby,no planes,no noise. It was there and it was gone.
I can relate with Autumn, although our sighting was much different.
I have to say that that The Naturalist will lose his composed mind when he sees that picture of the lovely Ms. Autumn.
Edited for typos.
Another interesting story, SasquaiNation. Thanks for sharing. I've had my own paranormal experiences deriving from the use of a ouija board - spirit writing, objects moved and/or hidden, aside from the fascinating conversations on the board, so I know there is more than just what we see.
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't have any doubts about Bigfoot existing. I just have my doubts about some of the characters in the field who crow and preen to get attention. Their very character and lack of reverence for this being makes whatever they have to say muddied by their attitude.
ReplyDeleteSometimes that's the hard part Autumn, sorting out who is sincere and who is not.
DeleteThankfully many of them are so obvious and dripping with ego that it makes it almost funny.
Unfortunately many people dismiss other people's encounter stories because they've been hooked in the mouth one too many times by hoaxers.
I totally agree with that...
ReplyDeleteHow old is she now like 50?
ReplyDeleteAnd that matters why?
DeleteThe first two words of the headline alone have me seeking my fainting couch.
ReplyDeleteI'm not ashamed. I'm a hot 49!
ReplyDeleteI bet you are Autumn.Red heads are especially hot.
DeleteSizzling, baby.
ReplyDeleteAnd confident as well.No wonder Mr.N is smitten.
DeleteI call BS on this one. How come the 'few other people' in her group didn't see it? How convenient. I think someone was playing a trick on her or it was a case of mistaken identity. End of story.
ReplyDeleteJerk,
DeleteShe is sharing her experience with nothing to gain. Give the girl a break. After you see something for yourself. All the skeptics are dead wrong and simply have their heads in the sand.
It's like when Galileo saw moons around Jupiter centuries ago. The skeptics refused to look and said I am not looking through that telescope because I know you are wrong and that's all there is too it.
Skeptics still haven't changed their ways to this day have they? They still refuse to look. How sad, how very sad.
Chad
Although I strongly believe in the existence of Sasquatch, I'm still calling BS on this one. Like I mentioned, how come no one else in her group saw it? Furthermore, why didn't she go over and look for evidence it may have left, such as footprints or strands of hair in the brush it walked out of? No, wait, let me guess why -- those were the days before collecting evidence for Sasquatch was 'in.'

ReplyDeleteSurprisingly little resistance here to the idea AF got lucky with the big hairy man in the sierra backcountry.
ReplyDeleteSorry couldn't resist...
Good article, Autumn.
ReplyDeleteMr. Naturalist so glad you're back. Bet you are really excited about Autumn's picture.
AF is the picture demonstrating how to lure a BF in closer!
ReplyDeleteLooking good,

Thanks Autumn, I have been seeing your comments all the time and have wondered what your experience was like after I saw you mentioned a week ago you had seen a Bigfoot. Thank you so much for sharing this with us :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Bigfoot myself, but would love too!
Like SasquaiNation I have had my own unexplained experience. I grew up in a small isolated mountain village in BC right on the coast, smack in the middle of the forest. When I was about 5 or 6 I was going to bed and looked out the window. I saw an orange glowing Saturn shaped UFO hovering in the night sky. It looked exactly like the Trindade Island UFO photos taken by a photographer on a Brazilian ship back in 1958.
At first I saw it up in the sky, then it moved down in front of the ocean water and then it moved in front of the mountains across the inlet before it disappeared.
Because of that experience, I am a believer in the unknown and LOVE these mysteries. Once you see something that is not supposed to exist, this means to you, that from now on every skeptic in the world is dead wrong and have their head stuck in the sand, or up their...
Thanks Chad
Aw, shucks. Y'all make a gal feel special. I have, in fact, gone on my first official BF hunt in October and plan one this summer. I am going to try something--using my abilities in psychometry to try and track him. If I can find any evidence of where he's been, I think I can track his path. It's a wild experiment, but I've been able to do it with humans and other animals, so why not? I will report back all the findings.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have screen grabbed and laminated Autumnforest's lovely picture for um...posterity.
ReplyDeleteFunny, that's one of my favorite pickup lines I used in the past. "You and me Naked, on a rock"
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your search Autumn. My wife had the same curiosity and after two years of going with me she finally heard one up close and then had one rub its hand on the tent. At first it freaked her out bigtime, after a year, she got her guts back and went back out with me and now loves them as much as I do. Just a suggestion, go to a good active location, and just camp quietly and have a good time. They will come to you as long as you are paying attention and over time they will get to know you and expect your vehicle and all of the interesting sights and smells that you bring. Dont go out calling and getting in their faces and trying to make them mad. They will get in your system and change your life. I've had them reach into my tent, scratch my car, leave dead rabbits and birds as gifts and have seen them on a few occasions, but they are very shy. Good luck. I hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing Autumn.
