Etsy is an e-commerce website focused on handmade or vintage items as well as art and craft supplies. These items cover a wide range including art, photography, clothing, jewelry, edibles, bath & beauty products, quilts, knick-knacks and toys. Many individuals also sell craft supplies like beads, wire, and jewelry-making tools. The vintage items on the site have only one rule to follow: they must be 20 years or older. These items range from old boots and ice skates, to dresses, hats and scarves. The site follows in the tradition of open craft fairs, giving sellers personal storefronts where they list their goods for a fee of $0.20. It has been compared to "a crafty cross between Amazon and eBay," and to "your grandma's basement."
Apparently, some people are selling oddities like animal hair.
Here's a posting for Bigfoot hair:
Its true Bigfoot exists and here is the proof.
This spring I was camping in the back country of northern California, the sun had gone down and I was sitting next to my camp fire enjoying the great outdoors. Watching the fire turn from a roaring blaze, into red and orange glowing embers; I decided that I would call it a night. Just then rumbles in the brush not far from where I was. I figured that it was some small animal, perhaps a curious raccoon interested in the smell of my campfire cooking, and paid no attention to the sounds of the forest as I tucked myself into my sleeping bag for another night of sleeping out under the stars. Just as a start to doze off I am swept up into the arms of none other than the Bigfoot. He runs through the forest holding me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, jumping over logs, running through streams, all in the darkness of the night, lit only by the glow of the moon. Finally after what seemed like 30 minutes of me being lugged around on the once mythical beast he takes me into his layer.
He puts me down gently, I was a bit frightened but not scared. I look around his cave home and notice pictures on the wall, some pictures of humans, some pictures of other Bigfoots, a picture of an abominable snowman, and a unicorn. The Bigfoot went into a different part of his layer out of view from my eyes as I stare at the walls intrigued by the decor of the creature. He comes back holding a tray and asks me if I would like a cup of tea. “why of course” I say, thinking to myself wow its not everyday that a Bigfoot offers you tea. We sit and talk for a while about the forest, about his kind, and about my kind. He tells me that all of the pictures on his walls are friends of his; people and creatures that he has known for a long time.
After a while of talking to him, and several cups of tea later, I finally ask him why did he swoop me up like he did? He told me its because he needs a hair cut, that he just can not reach the hair on his back to get a nice trim, and that none of his forest friends can hold scissors, so that if I would, could I trim his back hair for him. I took the scissors in hand and went to work. The hair cut took hours considering that there is a lot of hair on the back of a Bigfoot. After I finish he tells me that he will take me back to my campsite so that I could go about enjoying the forest. Just as he is about the toss me on his back I ask if I can have some of his hair so that I share with the world my Bigfoot encounter. He looks at me and then looks at the pile of back hair on the floor, thinks for a while deciding that I could have the hair as long as I shared it with all the great people on Etsy.

My phone rings, I answer and who is on the other line? None other then the Abominable snowman, or as he like to be referred to as, Yeti!
Flabbergasted that the snowman wants to talk to me, I try to play it cool. “Ohh whats up man?” I say, “Nothing much” says the winter bound creature. “I just got your number from our mutual friend Bigfoot.” he explained. Which was good because I was wondering how he got my number. We chit-chat for a while, the usual sorts of things life, relationships, careers. I ask him what its like being a mythical creature and he asks me all sorts of questions about humans, mostly why in the world does my kind enjoy wearing clothes and eating fried chicken. I explain to him that cloths are a necessary evil in our society and that fried chicken tastes amazing, that's why we eat it.
He then goes on to say that Bigfoot looks really good with the hair cut I gave him and that he would like to fly me out to the Himalayas so I could cut the hair on his back, seeing how his back is the one part of his body that he can't quite reach. I thought about it for two seconds, deciding that this would be a great opportunity for me, plus if my friend Bigfoot recommended me I had to do it. I tell my new Yeti friend that I am the man for the job, and ask how will I get ahold of him once I get on his side of the world. He told me not to worry that there would be a Sherpa waiting for me at the airport who would rush me to his layer so I could give him the hair cut he so desired.
That's how it all happened, I got the ticket, flew over, the Sherpa was waiting for me at the airport and took me right away to my new friend. Once I got there the Yeti had homemade cookies waiting for me. We ate cookies, chatted and after a while I got to the hair cut on his back. When his trim was all done, looking in the mirror, he complemented me on a job well done and asked if I to would take some of his hair as a token of appreciation for such a stylish new dew. I said of course and thanked him for the time we spent together. As I was leaving he grabbed more hair off the floor of his home, handing it to me saying “why don't you take this and share it with your friends on Etsy?” I say “wow thanks Yeti, giving him a hug as we part ways.”
