Bigfoot Benefest Slated July 1-3 in Santa Cruz, Felton

In this episode, Mike talks about the upcoming "Bigfoot Benefeet" going on 4th of July weekend in Santa Cruz and at the Museum.

We've posted on the Bigfoot Benefest show a few weeks ago, and this is another reminder for those of you who live near Santa Cruz.

Donations will go directly towards the Bigfoot Discovery Museum where their goal is to help ensure the bigfoot are treated right during their discovery. If you're curious to know what the museum is up to nowadays, you can watch the Bigfoot Discovery Museum Show where in every episode, Mike answers Bigfoot questions.

From the Santa Cruz Sentinel:
FELTON - "Bigfoot Benefest," a series of benefit shows benefitting The Bigfoot Discovery Project, will be held July 1-3 at venues in Santa Cruz and Felton, with funds being donated to the museum to help raise operational funds and continue research activities.

The benefit begins at 8 p.m. July 1 at The Blue Lagoon, with a lineup including Mean Jeans, Clorox Girls and The Groggs. The Blue Lagoon is at 923 Pacific Ave., Santa Cruz.

The museum, at 5497 Highway 9, Felton, will host a barbecue and music 1-4 p.m.

Museum curator Mike Rugg will play Bigfoot songs, and musician Nikki Corvette also will perform.

At 7:30 p.m., the festivities continue at The Crepe Place, 1134 Soquel Ave., Santa Cruz, with music from Paul Collins' Beat, Shannon and the Clams and Garbo's Daughter.

The event concludes July 3 at The Jury Room, 712 Ocean St., Santa Cruz, featuring performances from San Francisco-based The Devil's Own, and Behind the Wagon from San Diego.

Jeff Proctor, who's helping to coordinate the event, said all net proceeds will be donated to the museum, with money raised through door receipts and merchandise sales.

The Bigfoot Discovery Project is a museum and research organization.

Its mission includes educating the public about mystery primates, establishing a research center, teaching children about respect for wildlife and conservation through cryptozoology - or the study of mysterious creatures - and conducting field research to verify Bigfoot's existence.
