Ro Sahebi Reviews The Hobbit - Big Screen MONSTER MAYHEM!
Editor’s Note: Ro Sahebi, Filmmaker from Los Angeles, CA and Producer of the EXTINCT? Podcast. You can visit his website, thebigfootreport.com.
This movie is simply an incredible movie-going experience. With 48-frames per second 3D projection, it was just short of really being there. The opening scenes of Bilbo in the Shire were so vivid, I felt that leaning forward would allow me take in the smell of the gardens.
But since this is the Bigfoot Report, I'm going to talk about the MONSTERS!!!! They were non-stop, bipedal beasts of legend, the next group more fantastic that the previous. Trolls, Orcs and their Wargs, Goblins and the Goblin King, and of course, Smaug the Dragon. But my favorite action scene in this first film was the Stone Giant's battle. A rock 'em sock 'em epic good time. This was nothing short of fantastic, breathtaking and deafening.
There is so much going on in every scene, I will have to see this movie again. The cinematography is something you must experience in the theater. So do yourself a favor and head down to the closest IMAX screen you can find and strap in for two and a half hours of adventure.

ReplyDeleteThat's probably not the only place
DeleteI don't even think that Ro Sahebi gives a fuck about Ro Sahebi's opinion.
ReplyDeleteHobbits are dwarf Bigfoots
ReplyDeleteHey Ro are you still buying into all the Justin Smeja bullshit? Any DNA results or other credible evidence to his story? He fell off the map, and I'm sure theres a reason why.......
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how you can make one book into a trilogy, I guess the proceeds will make Smaugs hoard of gold look tiny.
ReplyDeleteYou don't even have to see this stupid film to know it's trash, I haven't seen any of the others and they're trash too. Utter crap but the books are genius.
DeleteI thought the books were genius too....WHEN I WAS 14!!
DeleteAww...grow up.^
DeleteWhats a book?

DeleteIt's like a movie with words, oh and no pictures.
Actually, in the book The Hobbit, it contains pictures.
DeleteSaw this last Friday in 24 fps 3D and loved it. Love the books and the LOTR movies. Peter Jackson has done the almost impossible. And if you don't like the books or movies, fine--we fans couldn't care less about your opinion. LOTR movies made 3 billion dollars--this trilogy may make even more.
ReplyDeleteWho gives a shit how much they've made they're still crap, quantity doesn't equal quality, Madonna and the Bieber blip make millions too and they're also crap. Perfect example of a united world dumbing down, way too many of those in the so-called arts these days.
