Ranchita, California Wood Ape: Mystery Solved?

Editor’s Note: Jonathan Poulsen is a cryptozoologist with a mere four years experience. But what he lacks in time he has made up for in progress.

Back in 2011, an alleged photograph of a Sasquatch was taken by an anonymous person hiking near Ranchita, California. The person claimed that they did not see the "creature" when the original picture was taken (which is a rather dubious claim). While scouring the internet for photos of silver-back gorillas that might match the heatedly debated Wood Ape photo from southern California, I came across this (image above). Case closed?

    1. lol... agreed. WTF is this "case closed" business? I don't think the wood ape photo is a bigfoot, but come on... I think we all knew it could possible be a normal ape already (or statue, or photoshop job, or....)

  2. Huh, WTF? "I came across this"....what??? This post makes no sense at all.

    1. This was published here last week. I think it was pretty much exposed for what is was at the time. http://bigfootevidence.blogspot.com/2012/09/possible-wood-ape-photo-from-ranchita.html

  7. As Blondie pointed out when this was first posted here, the guy who put this out (in video form) has also released a video of apes in a zoo. Look under Mark Anders on youtube

  8. There were also a few posts that pointed out the photoshoping in the picture. I thought is was pretty much solved then.

  9. This guy is less than a hour away from two of the most famous zoos in the world. San Diego Zoo and the Safari Park in Escondido. Google pictures of the Gorillas in the parks. Pretty easy to figure out after you see the pics.

  10. Yeesh, this was obvious to most people when it was first posted so how can you close a case when it was already closed for the majority, are you living in a parallel dimension that is somehow behind our timeline.

    1. Please don't drag that supernatural parallel dimension timeline nonsense into this serious study of the Woody Ape Peoples.

  11. I believe the pic is probably fake, but the facial part that you can see looks a little human. They look similiar, bur exact? No. The gorilla pic is from google search gorilla pics. I just hope someday, some one gets a good picture!

  12. Was there really any doubt that it wasn't a gorilla to begin with? I just assumed anyone with a tiny bit of brain capacity could see that's all it was. Probably taken at a zoo.

    1. Yeah, I was hoping that someone found the other pictures, i.e. the freakin gorilla behind the fence in a zoo, sitting in the same branches, but lo any old gorilla image will do, as if we didn't know it was a gorilla. Why was this even posted? Another five minutes of my life down the shitter. Not many left now!

  18. Well at least the kid is not wearing that stupid girls wig anymore. If he was I would suggest he become one of the bigfoot chicks because this story is pretty lame. He sure seemed to get fired up at anyone who doubted the elbe tracks were real.

  21. Please remove my photo from this blog of the silverback gorilla, or give credit where it's due. I never gave permission to use it.

  22. This is a bigfoot picture. The size and depth of eye socket says it's not an ape. Now the case is closed. Bigfoot for sure.
