Is Gimlin telling the truth when he tells his "Patty" story, or is he telling a tall tale?
Surely, if the famous Patterson-Gimlin film was a hoax, Gimlin would know that it was a hoax.
You have to admit that, given Roger Patterson's background and pre-October 1967 interest in bigfoot, it does seem that Patterson was exactly the type of guy who would create a hoax. However, that does not necessarily mean that the subject in his famous film was not an actual bigfoot. People do win the lottery against huge odds. Patterson and Gimlin coming across "Patty" could have been the equivalent of winning the bigfoot lottery.
What do you think? Is Gimlin lying through his teeth? What are your thoughts on this? (Please be serious; I am looking for a serious discussion on this topic. Thank you).
Nope, Gimlin is a pretty straight up truthful bloke who has come around to talking about it after years of shunning the spotlight. Patterson may have rented a monkey suit for the purpose of filming his bigfot documentary but then lucked out when he stumbled across a real bigfoot crossing his path back in 1967. A highly doubt Patterson had the superior skill to create such a great costume as some people claim and if he did he could have made millions in hollywood . The stretch fabric used now didn't exist back then . Also poeple claim Gimlin is only doing this for money and looking to get rich. Like anyone on the bigfoot speaking circuit is rolling in the dough, hahaha. Bloody ridiculous to think anyone is getting rich and if they think that way maybe they should try it. Gimlin is the real deal unlike fake Joe gug, gug above who spends his time smoking meth and commenting n this blog cheers
If Gimlin is telling the truth, then sasquatches do exist. This is why unbelievers/critics dismiss his story out of hand and by default have to directly or indirectly say/believe that he is lying (like the skeptic Ranae from the Animal Planet program Finding Bigfoot).
He refuses to take a lie detector test and will not be in the same room as Bob Heironimus. He will never change his story because he loves the attention from his admirers especially the ladies. Because of this hoax he is now something special in his eyes and has no reason to come clean.
instead of subjecting him to a polygraph test, why not have a seance or have a witch doctor shake some rattles over his head? It would be just about as effective. The only thing that a polygraph test really does... is put money in the pocket of the testing company.
End of story.
Of course, if anyone can find peer reviewed experiments that have been done that DO establish a link between polygraph tests and truthfulness, please post them here so we can gather them up and petition the APA and the courts to change their position regarding polygraphs. In short Gimlin is in a no win situation . if he passes you'll claim the tests are not reliable and if he fails you'll take it as the gospel truth. Go enjoy your life, smoke your meth and drink your beers and stop trying so bloody hard cheers buttercup
Roger Patterson took a lie detector’s test. Arranged by National Wildlife magazine... and he past. But Pedo Stu above won’t ever tell you about that. Also, if someone called you a liar repeatedly, you tend to not want to be seen dead with them.
“We” this and “we” that. There is no “we”, expect maybe Danny PS and his little lapdog Edward Nolan when pretending to be a sceptic, to help put a little smile on the former kook’s face. Nwah... there’s nice.
LOL. Are you trying to be facetious? I hope so. That story about hunting down and killing a family troop is a load of BS. It's amazing that there are people who are gullible enough to believe such nonsense.
Gimlin is playing a character. He is and was a thief and conman. Does he tell the story about when he got caught stealing a shitload of stuff and his parents had to mortgage their house to pay his bond?
What? If this is true, my balloon has been popped. The multi-million dollar bigfoot industry rests largely on the Patterson-Gimlin film. It is always touted as being the best evidence for the existence of sasquatches. If Gimlin has been repeatedly lying for decades, then what is the logical conclusion regarding the famous PGF?
Much in the bigfoot world that is in the realm of stupidity are the things and people associated with bigfoot hoaxing.
There is nothing illogical about serious investigation into the sasquatch mystery. Too many credible people have seen a sasquatch to dismiss this out of hand.
Credible people can't be mistaken? We have read right here on this very site about hundreds of people investigating Bigfoot and what have they come up with? Absolutely nothing convincing over of 50 years since the PGF film. Sooner or later one has to accept that a large creature seemingly seen so often (according to what we read here) remaining undiscovered in the U.S. stretches logic to it's limits.
“Does he tell the story about when he got caught stealing a shitload of stuff and his parents...”
“What? If this is true, my balloon has been popped. The multi-million dollar bigfoot industry rests largely on the Patterson-Gimlin film...”
Jeez. Still making up stories and having conversations with yourself, Danny? It’s a sure sign of your narcissism that you think you might set up some conversation when it suits you, shame 99.9% of its with yourself, ya f’n kook.
Having once steered this place away from being a playground for a couple of overweight nerds, to a place where the best pseudosceptical prayers could be panic-published and subsequently chipped away at one by one... There’s not one argument you can conjure that can’t be destroyed with basic facts, a bit of knowledge about the subject, and a bit of peer reviewed science. You used to cry, cry, cry that your comedy club Bigfoot blog was taken away. Now, after all the best arguments against Bigfoot were destroyed... it’s just Edward Nolan and Danny Campbell itching each other’s *****. You’re a sad little satire of a lonely old cyber-nerd.
Listen to what MK has uncovered about Gimlin. He's not exactly the sweet old man he loves to portray but no question is and was real. There is a conspiracy about PGF but it's the eradication of a troop that scared the loggers so bad they refused to work.
Gimlin is the truth. Just call him the TRUTH. Great name for a wrastler. You don't have to believe. Just because you don't believe doesn't mean it's not the truth. It is the truth!
This story was circulating the internet way back in 2004, or maybe as far back as 1999. Back when everybody was on 56k dial-up modems and a "Facebook" was just a regular book with directory listing of names and headshots. This story was so disturbing and so shocking that nobody believed it at the time. It was the Robert Lindsay " Bear Hunter: Two Bigfoots Shot and DNA Samples Taken " story of the time. And like Robert's Bear Hunter story , this witness didn't have a name. The only thing known about the witness is that this person was a government employee, anonymous of course. The author of the story was a science teacher named Thom Powell who believe it really happened and that the whole story was an elaborate cover-up. Powell said the anonymous government employee alerted the BFRO about a 7.5 feet long/tall burn victim with "multiple burns on hands, feet, legs and body; some 2nd and 3rd degree burns". Sadly, there was no DNA samples taken from...
Rumors abound on whether or not Finding Bigfoot will continue, but hopeful news is on the horizon. Snake Oil Productions, the production company responsible for Finding Bigfoot, is seeking a permit for filming in the Monterey, Virginia area. Monterey lies between the Monongahela and George Washington National Forests. Definitely a good place to look for bigfoot. We can only speculate if this means Finding Bigfoot has been signed on for additional seasons, or if perhaps a new bigfoot show is in the works. We'll keep you updated on any further announcements for sure.
Editor's Note: This is a guest post by Suzie M., a sasquatch enthusiast. Crypto-linguists believe that the species known Bigfoot/Sasquatch/Yeti/Yowie ect speak and understand a complex language, which by all accounts seems to stem from Asia. When one listens to it there is definitely a sense of it being Chinese or Japanese. It is a very odd mix of sounds, clicks and what could be actual words. This is the reason some experts are looking into the Asian dialect theory, some have said it could be a lost dialect, which was carried from Asia by the Bigfoot species that colonised America.

Well old Gimlin is certainly not squeaky clean:
