What Kind of Horse is This?
Is this a photoshopped picture? Is it a donkey crossed with a zebra? What's going on here? It turns out this is a real animal. It's called a Somali Wild Ass, and it's supposed to look that way.
These beautiful creatures live in rocky deserts in very remote areas of East Africa. There are so few left in the wild that it’s feared something like a drought could kill them all off.
The are considered the smallest of the Equidae family (horses, zebras, wild asses) and are ancestors of today’s donkeys. They have a smooth gray coat that can look purple-ish when the light hits it right. They have a bristle-like mane that stands upright, just like zebras. Their bellies are white and they have black striped legs.
The San Diego Wild Animal Park oversees the breeding of these animals, lending them out to zoos around the US for breeding purposes. Scientists feel they have enough of these animals in captivity to keep the wild ass population healthy and free of any inbreeding problems.

DeleteIf an idiot tries to coin a lame joke- and no laughs are heard, was it actually a joke?
DeleteIt wasn't even funny yesterday. Ass.
I didn't coin it. Google is your friend, genius. Someone mentioned that they were nerds, hence my recall of the phrase. Besides, someone did say it was funny negating your ASSertion.

DeleteDoes anyone genuinely believe there are undiscovered apemen in north america?
ReplyDeleteThey aren't in anyway "apes". Sasquatch are genetically very close to modern humans. Some like to call them the Forest People. They can be very large of course.
DeleteThey populate much of North America. They are found in forested land and even some green belts. There are reports of them in more suburban areas, although I find that a little hard to believe.
I like the term Forest People. They sometimes infiltrate the outer reaches of suburbia in the dark of the night but most certainly do not live there. They are becoming, maybe they always have but I believe numbers increase in them are bringing them into agricultural areas throughout the midwest and south.

It's just a matter of time before one of them slips up and we get real good proof. I don't know if the world is ready but it's coming...
Delete...I think, whether its in the homo line or something that split from humans before the time of the australopiths, it would have been proven by now....I know that is the banal man on the street opinion, but nobody is proving us banal street people wrong...
DeleteCombined with how smart they are and how much the government is covering up I can see how they remain hidden. Then there are the skeptic agents (whether paid or not) who try to shoot down believers. We shall see.

Not really, there is plenty for a breeding population.
DeleteIn my mind
DeleteLow end, probably 25,000. More likely closer to 100,000.
DeleteI think minimum of 100k and probably a lot more. I know a pretty good researcher that says 2 million. It is all a guessing game. I base my estimates on sheer number of reports every year x at least 10 for the unreported ones.
DeleteBut it is a number we really can not know. It may be just 25 to 100k.

I bet they are capable of invisible cloaking too. They are also the best dancers, and can hit a clean sinker 500ft....
DeleteTo find giants or ape-men, just go to a basketball game!
