Watch: Planet of the Bigfoot
Some people have long believed that make-up artist John Chambers, most well known for his work on Planet of the Apes, was partially responsible for the Patterson-Gimlin film. Rumor had it that Chambers created a suit for Patterson, which was then used to create the iconic bigfoot film. Of course there's never been any proof to support that, and a costume that famous would surely have shown up by now. One thing can not be argued though, and that's John Chambers was truly a master of his craft. Check out this video of behind the scenes Planet of the Apes images:
Late night first!
ReplyDeleteThat's kitakraze in the top photo smoking butt hairs from Godzilla.
ReplyDeletelol
DeleteThe following accounts are all the same person, and there time stamps proved it. Look into the backlogs and you will see for yourself. Im sure now that we have exposed the accounts they will try and disguise it more, but we now know the truth.
ReplyDeleteEva, MMC, Nonarchaic Human, Chick, and Fozzie are all the same person. Who has conversations among himself or herself. And since Eva admitted she was a transexual today, i guess its appropriate.
You are sick my friend... I think you need help. I'm not trying to be mean or derogatory; I genuinely think you need help.
DeleteI mean that as politely as I possibly can.
Time stamps prove it how and so what if they are? What is your point? If they are all the same person you're the only one who cares. Is trolling all you have in life? If they are all the same person you're still the crazier MF.
DeleteIt was the film director John Landis who kinda started the rumor after he worked with Rick Baker on Schlock and Baker told him that Chambers had made Patty. Baker was friends with Chambers and told other FX artists the same thing over the years including Howard Berger from KNB effects when they were creating Harry for Harry and the Hendersons. Later on the story was picked up by journalists and Baker got sick of being asked about it issuing a statement through his people denying the rumor in the 90s. One journalist got to speak to Chambers himself before he died and he too denied any involvement in Patty's creation. However, Chambers was a known practical joker, hoaxer and was also on the CIA payroll and people who did know him said he'd never admit to the hoax anyhow.
ReplyDeleteThe suit has allegedly been spotted on Lost in Space that Chanbers worked on in the 60s and it's also said that costume departments were full of ape suits at the time and any could have been modified to make Patty. Chambers was also fond of making Sideshow gaffs including some Bigfoot type creatures. He also knew how to keep a secret as he was recruited whilst working on Mission Impossible by the CIA and was involved in the Argo project and was played by John Goodman in the movie. If he did make Patty the suit could be anywhere from a dusty studio lot to a landfill site but if you did pull off the best hoax ever wouldn't you destroy the evidence??
There's a little too much conspiracy in your theory. Patterson modified the suit he had Morris mAke Is the most plausible theory. Patterson was supposedly good at working with leather etc. so he could have worked it out.
ReplyDeleteYes while his check for the camera rental was bouncing all over town, Patterson had vast resources to produce a costume superior to even those used in Planet of the Apes that year. No costume explains the spinal erectors and other aspects apparent on Patty.
DeleteWould that be the same Morris who's attempted recreation looked worse than the gorilla suit from Gilligans Island? Yeah. He's a master of his craft. NEXT!
ReplyDeleteI've read that Patterson took a Morris suit and worked on it. How is that too hard to believe?
DeleteEasy. He was a damn cowboy, not a costume designer. Even with todays technology, which he NEVER could have anticipated, that video holds up. There is zero evidence that Morris had a damn thing to do with Patterson other than a drunk Bob H.'s word. Which is worthless. Check out the BBC's and Morris's attempt to duplicate the suit on Youtube. It's a laugh if nothing else. It was so bad the film makers tried to make it disappear.
DeleteSmoke, smoke, smoke that cigarette.
ReplyDeleteThe reaction when seeing the "PGF" is "it's an ape suit" because it was. It's obvious it was. All attempts to obfuscate that by the bigfoot community is funny.
ReplyDeleteStand back, people, tardist hard at work digging himself a hole. A really deep one. A deep hole of delusion, confusion, and hilarity. Let him dig, soon he'll be out of view.
