  2. 1. The argument that stretch fur fabric, ala NFT was not available in the 60's. True, but totally irrelevant. It was not necessary, so that argument is moot.

    2. Fur fabric has been around since the 20's, and certainly had been perfected well before Patterson's suit would have been made. It was inexpensive and readily available commercially. It was pliable and flexible, just like the artificial fur cloths of today. What you can buy at any decent sized fabric store is not very different from what was available in Patterson's day.

    3. Bill Munns stands by his claim that fur cloth of the 60's was as stiff and rigid as (modern) carpet. Big Ginger over on the BFF supported that claim by listing "non-stretch" fur fabric as commonplace, even listing a particular manufacturer which listed in their advertisements "non-stretch" fur fabric. I ordered samples from Big Ginger's source, and sure enough, that fake fur fabric was extremely soft, extremely pliable, and absolutely provided plenty of yielding when pulled and manipulated. It was not as rigid as carpet. I have never found fake fur that was as rigid as carpet. Recently someone pointed to some fur cloth being sold on Etsy I think, described as fur cloth from the 60's. I was tempted to buy it, but suspected that it might have been a ruse posted by a bigfooter for who knows what reason. Bill says he has no access to any fur cloth of the 60's to back up his claim, and that we are simply supposed to take him at his word. Unfortunately, I cannot take him at his word because I have had fur cloth from the 60's, as clothing and as raw material, and there are far too many examples of fur cloth from the 60's and older which demonstrate its flexibility and pliability. The claim that fur cloth in Patterson's day was rigid as carpet and absolutely not suitable as a fur costume like Patty is completely false. Watch the film clips above for verification.

    4. Padding has been claimed to have been way too heavy to work for a Patty suit. This too is a ridiculous claim. Foam has been around for ages. So has cotton batting. Either could have been used to pad the Patty suit, just as it was used to pad the Gemora suits and the American Tourister suits, and any number of other suits that can be listed. Suits did not need to be padded with heavy, solid, inflexible materials like meat, or water bags, or clay, or sand, or whatever kinds of materials proponents might dream up to support the idea that a visibly bulky suit must be extremely heavy and cumbersome. Quite the opposite in fact. Again, review the clips above to see how easily an actor can get around in a foam or batting padded suit. Those materials were also readily available in Patterson's day.

    5. Latex has been around long before Patterson's interest in bigfoot. Making a mask out of a mixture of latex and other materials was a standardized process well before Patterson's time, and the materials to make such a mask were also readily available to him.

    1. The materials were available to Patterson. The technology was well established for making suits. Logistically everything was there for a Patty suit to be made. The only requirement was time and talent, both of which were abundantly available to Patterson. Patterson had a "can-do" attitude. Actually, he had more than that, he had a "must-do" attitude. He was desperate, short on time, with no nest egg for his family. He had far more incentive and motivation than any of us since. He was not some hack cowboy as some would like to paint him. He was extremely talented, very artistic, creative, and ambitious. While proponents like to say that skeptics try to trash Patterson's character, I'm of the opposite opinion. I think Patterson deserves to be put in some sort of hall of fame. He was able to pull off a monumental hoax with sheer determination and talent. The fact that people are still debating it is a credit to his efforts.

Patterson has always been heralded as a hero by the proponents because he did something nobody else has ever done, filmed a real bigfoot. I always wonder what they would think if the hoax was finally and completely exposed. If they would still think he was that great hero. Or would they turn on him like they have Bob H. If it comes out that Bob H. was not the evil liar he has been made out to be, what then? Asking that question year after year, I get the feeling that it is next to impossible for some people to imagine a scenario like that, where Patterson was a hoaxer, and Bob H was not a liar.

    3. Death Knell -

I do not believe your claims of ordering that fabric. I want to see photos of your stretching the fur on the bias against a scale. It will NOT stretch. Period.

Will it roll in the hands? Yes. Will it be able to roll around a surface? Yes. Especially with materials today, but it will NOT stretch. It is made NOT to stretch.

Was the 60s fabric as rigid as a carpet? I do not know - that is before my time.

I think you are nit-picking with words used to prove your point, which is deceptive. You are claiming I said one thing when in fact I said another. The backing of the fur cloth is made from a non-woven fabrication so as not to have any perceptible stretch. It will still have a "hand" which means it will be able to roll and move. The density of the fur and backing will determine the hand of the fabric.

Stop trying to twist words and show proof of your claims. But, of course you won't be able to.

  3. "The lack of any bit or piece of Bigfoot after so many hundreds of years is extremely powerful and meaningful evidence of its nonexistence. A kind of evidence that trumps. It's like a big hammer that pounds on all the stuff that the believers put forth." - William Parcher
