Breaking: Site of Famous Bigfoot Attack, Ape Canyon Has Been Discovered
Artwork by Severino Baraldi |
During one evening In 1924, a group of miners shot at a mysterious 7-foot-tall apelike creature that was milling around the makeshift cabin they had built in the canyon to assay a nearby claim. That night, as the miners tried to get some shut-eye, their cabin was reportedly pelted with rocks, logs and other forest debris by a band of at least three of the “Big Foot” ape creatures—the miners later measured footprints at up to 19 inches long. In the morning, the story goes, the miners came upon and shot one of the ape creatures, which fell some 400 feet into the canyon, presumably to a certain death, although no remains of any kind were ever recovered. It was understood that the cabin was burnt to the ground around 1968 and the exact location of the claim was thought to be lost forever.
But according to information being gathered by a group of people seeking to preserve the famous site, they may have found the cabin -- at least what's left of it. A person named Marc of the Dark Waters Paranormal Group sent this exciting email to us today:
Hi Shawn,
July 2, 2013 2:30 pm, on second day of 3 day expidition. 1924 Ape Canyon cabin site rediscovered. Its been a long haul, but I found it, No surface evidence left, but a good start on sub-surface evidence. Mine entrance not found. That's for next time.
Marc
For the past 4 years, the Dark Waters Paranormal Group has been collecting important documentary evidence leading them to the exact location of the cabin. Based on the evidence the group have gathered, they believe they've finally found the cabin. According to Marc, the area is an alpine forest, and the dangerously rugged terrain makes it very difficult to get to. This is perhaps why the cabin was presumed lost.

ReplyDeleteAnon 2:52pm is definitely mad. Like real mad. How'd you get so mad, bro?
DeleteIt seems to me that the group of people who produced the PGF and who support the notion of an existing hominid are the ones constantly on the search for the creature.
They do the leg work and take the risks, while harassing skeptics sit at the luxury of their Starbucks table with free wifi trying to hate themselves less than they normally do by anonymously calling people names and surfing countless forums, blogs, and websites creating drama, back stories, movie scenes, and other accounts to continue the fray when no one else is biting.
You call footers pathetic, fat, lazy, and idiotic but look at you, you just got legitimately angry on a comment section about bigfoot.
Skeptic meet mirror, mirror meet skeptic.
rush rules this Independence day

ReplyDeleteBreaking:
ReplyDeleteMMG is pwned by packham
Hackham & Hilarious owned by Patterson.
DeleteIts not breaking its well known that all those years ago MMGs mom let him stay up late to watch the x creatures episose about his favourite fantasy animal bigfoot. Little did he know of the pwnage that packham would deliver. By the time the last section of the documentary was aired it was too late. The magic monkey man fantasy was over for MMG, his heart truelly broken. Poor kid.
DeleteIt's pretty simple! How is a rookie film maker meant to make a suit out of materials that were not available to the average person, and top what modern technology can't today?
DeletePackham proved nothing other than The fact that his effort to try and help children sleep better at night failed miserably.
I know it's a big laugh to you, but use some common sense bro?! Where's the monkey suit??
Oh and Rum-Dumb the redneck! I wondered when you were gonna limp into comment mode! Howdy partner!!
Peace.
Joe.
Even if Dickham had run into a squatch while there he'd never been allowed to show it on TV because he's part of mainstream media's status quo gang, bought and sold as he is.
DeleteSorry,I have a life and was getting some vagina gud,but you've been here the whole time I see,yoo smaart, another insult huh?Guess I win yet again
Delete'
No chick was giving it up to an old fat drunk like you!
DeleteYour goat doesn't count. Why dont you go get your lips reduced. There causing you to babble alot.
HA HA HA HA HA!!!! Rum-dumb! Win there pal?
Deletethe cabin was located at the base of mt. st. helens. after the 1980 eruption, everything was destroyed, burned or buried in hot mud a hundred feet thick. good luck finding anything!
DeleteVagina gud, yeah,I win,Joe,whats your liquor of choice?
DeleteAre there any tracks left? If so, do they have dermal ridges and a midtarsal break?
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you go and check?
DeleteDermal ridge peak width size is an accurate indicator of taterhole depth.
ReplyDelete^^just ask Jimmy Chilcutt

ReplyDeletehow DARE you...
DeleteUmmmm, I'm right again.
See how this works?
Go science!!!
I doubt DWA will ever recover from the pwnage delivered by dmaker.

ReplyDeleteJust watched the blevins pgf recreation and it looks like footers have been dealt the final death knell.
ReplyDeleteThe suit perfectly matches the body proportions, gait, bulk, leg angle, effortless walk, look back and the muscles.
Change the fur to be horse hide or whatever Patterson used and film it on a 16mm camera to add that grainy 60s look and you've got yourself the pgf.
Footers = pwned.
No monkey only a hoaxed film in 50 years.
LOL!
DeleteLMFAO!
DeleteIt makes no difference if the PGF was faked or not, bigfeets exist regardless.
DeleteHa ha ha!! Are you serious?!! Are you telling me that the Blevins recreation has the same muscle tone & hair texture and skin folds? Plus, the pictures you see the Blevins suit in have had the width reduced by 5%... looks like a very good effort and after all this time you'd expect someone to come up with at least one good effort I suppose!
DeletePeace.
Joe.
If we can only just make something a little close to Patty now... Then there's simply no way a Rookie film maker could have made a suit that good back then.
DeleteIf anything; Blevins' suit has helped to strengthen the claim that Patty is real, hominid flesh and blood.
Peace.
Joe.
Excellent comment joe.Brief, but straight to the thoughts of a logical thinker. And I must admit, your mental agility is admired. I will send you a link to my channels for contact..Till next time, salutations Mr. fitzgerald.
DeleteYour a star Steve and thank you my friend. Can't stress the mutuality enough.
DeletePeace.
Joe.
These trolling kooks aren't serious Joe, they're only here because they've been bought to be here. Blevins is a dummy we all know that.
DeleteStoopid Minors. lol
ReplyDeleteFamous lie. Prospectors always lie about bigfoot to protect their worthless claims.
ReplyDelete^^just like in every episode of Scooby Doo
DeleteI like eggs. Shave my back please
ReplyDelete^Dr Johnson? What about you're big hairy hugs?
DeleteFor the newbies who were born in the last 46 years (after the P-G film), here is the Fred Beck/Ape Canyon story. Please note that Fred Beck descibes them as, "they are not entirely of the world".
ReplyDeletehttp://www.bigfootencounters.com/classics/beck.htm
He's probably right too which is why the government is covering this and UFOs up. There's a cool episode of Ancient Aliens where they speculate that Bigfoot might be an alien experiment dropped here on Earth an awful long time ago to keep an eye on us, and otherwise mind its own business. Why the Beck and Ostman tales have not yet been turned into big budget movies is a bugger mystery than Sasquatch by now.
DeleteGreat NW legend until you look into Fred's psychic stuff
ReplyDeleteHis book came out in '67 same as PGF?
i heard about a death bed confession from one of the miners that it was all a hoax. an earthquake caused boulders to roll down and rest near the cabin. supposedly, the same boulders that biggies used to try and break into the cabin
ReplyDeleteafter the mt. st. helens eruption in 1980 everything near the base (where the cabin was) was destroyed, burned or buried under steaming hot mud.
ReplyDeleteDermal ridges, PGM, all that. I know nothing. 1924 Ape Canyon. I know plenty. The remoteness of the site, coupled with the eruption has actually protected the site from visitation.
ReplyDeleteWhat protected the site from the eruption was the West side of Pummice Butte. The lahar flows came from the West, splashed against the West side of the Butte and then drained to the North and South. The East side only received about 1"=2" of pumice and ash. Comparing pre and post eruption aerial photos, the East side vegetation has remained essentially the same.
marc, you must be one of the group members that tried to find becks cabin. their must be an easier way to gat in and out of there. after all, it was a miner's cabin. how were they supposed to get in and out with precious ore and supplies. did the eruption change conditions of trails? don't overhead air photos show if the cabin is still intact?
ReplyDeletethe rumour that the cabin burned down in '67 or '68 may not necessarily be true. This is an excerpt from Peter Bynre's book "The search for Bigfoot" pp.28 The remains of the cabin are still there and were seen in 1972 by some "Bigfoot searchers."
ReplyDeleteread your latest mess. on crytomundo. sounds like you found it. with this heat wave, and limited water, conditions must really suck. a 1966 story by abe vidal says he visited the site and claims the cabin was no longer standing. good luck marc! am looking forward to your next update.
ReplyDeleteRandy W! Yeah, it's me. The cabin was built in 1924 after working the mine for two years in '22 and '23. In those first two years, the miners were tent camping at the base of Pummice Butte, about 1/4 mile away and walking in everyday. The mine, I haven't found yet. But reports from 1924 was that it was REMOTE and DANGEROUS to get to. The cabin was built in 1924 almost right next to the mine. Setting aside Fred Beck's 1967 narrative as to how the mine was established (great white arrow in the sky, leading the way), how and why the mine was started in such a precarious location is a mystery. Reporters who visited the site from 3 newspapers (Oregonian, Portland News and Longview Daily News) all explain the same. Why did the miners start the mine in such a ridiculous spot? Aerial photos pre-eruption and post eruption were combed over, many many late nights. The pre-eruption photos were very high altitude, but I couldn't make out a structure. Post eruption photos, the same. But the photos did show that the general site conditions in the immediate area did not really change that much from the 1980 eruption. This is why I pursued it so hard, as I felt the chances were high that some evidence might be left if I could be the clues on the ground. I've consulted the Gifford-Pinchot NF archaeologist. We spoke for a while over the phone. "Geez! It sounds like you found it!" he says. (proud face) But now, its kind of like the dog that caught the car he was chasing......
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've been able to find out, trappers and Indians stayed out of the area. Being a semi-active volcano, all those earthquake type rumblings convinced the local inhabitants that it was a place of "bad Medicine". Besides, with questionable water, it doesn't exactly sound like a fun place to visit.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I,d really like more info on the other miners Joe Peterson and someone named "Lexington"? After the incident they just sort of disappeard.
By the way, did you guys feel or hear anything strange? Day or nignt?
