In the Pacific Northwest, a small island may hold the clue to unravelling the mystery of the legendary Sasquatch. Vancouver Island is a densely forested land mass located about 70 miles northwest of Seattle, Washington. The island is separated from Canada's mainland by water and is a popular destination for hikers, hunters and possibly something frightening and mysterious.

    If sasquatch visit this island, then it should be possible to get a few hundred volunteers to circle the perimeter of the island while spaced out evenly. Then on cue, everyone moves toward the center. If there is a squatch on the island, they should be able to flush it out.

    I've been told numerous times that the biggest concentration of the beasts are in the Cowichan Valley and around Shawnigan Lake. Mesachie Lake also seems to be a hot spot along with the Whiskey Creek area. So, go for it. Keep in mind that it's steep mountainous terrain and thick rain forest populated by the highest concentration of mountain lions and there are over 10,000 black bears on the island. Oh, and don't forget the occasional grizzly bear from the mainland and numerous pot plantations. With boobie traps. Maybe a plantation guard with a crossbow too. Did I mention the weird invasive fungus on the island that attacks and destroys the lungs?

    Glad to see Steenberg featured on a high-profile show like that. That guy has impressed me with his books and no-nonsense approach. Also, from what I have read, he has really exposed himself to some dangerous situations. You can read about his best reported sighting on the internet if you google the Crandell Campground Incident. This one is spooky.

This story was circulating the internet way back in 2004, or maybe as far back as 1999. Back when everybody was on 56k dial-up modems and a "Facebook" was just a regular book with directory listing of names and headshots. This story was so disturbing and so shocking that nobody believed it at the time. It was the Robert Lindsay " Bear Hunter: Two Bigfoots Shot and DNA Samples Taken " story of the time. And like Robert's Bear Hunter story , this witness didn't have a name. The only thing known about the witness is that this person was a government employee, anonymous of course. The author of the story was a science teacher named Thom Powell who believe it really happened and that the whole story was an elaborate cover-up. Powell said the anonymous government employee alerted the BFRO about a 7.5 feet long/tall burn victim with "multiple burns on hands, feet, legs and body; some 2nd and 3rd degree burns".
