Watch this: Dude Almost Gets Killed By Tire During Spartan Race

I've never heard of the Spartan Race before but if they're throwing tires at people to get rid of them, there's no way in hell I'm signing up for that! This video was filmed during the Spartan Race in Charlotte last week and it's frickin' scary how close one guy came to losing his life. "My GoPro was on when a tire from the hill above almost hit us during the sandbag carry. Pretty scary in reality. Very lucky," the uploader wrote. (Tire starts at 1:22s)

    1. This is disgusting. These racist men are coloring their skin to mock the African American community, like blackface. Besides, everybody knows the Spartans were actually black, my African Studies teacher taught me about it. And I read the book 'Stolen Legacy'. Plato, Cleopatra and Alexander the Great were black as well.

  4. Well, this just proves my theory that bigfoots can morph into tires.

  5. "Whats that? I came within a frogs hair of death by giant tire while covered in mud and carrying a bag of sand to nowhere for no reason? Huh. Well, I gotta get this sand up here..."

  8. I wanna rub mud on Ketchum's big old boobs. Let's stuff Phil Poling in a tire and roll him down a hill! Look out Phil, don't crash into the tractor shed!

  12. The figure moves quickly through the frame from right to left, unlike the subject in the Patterson-Gimlin film. Only the most sophisticated hoaxers would know both how to avoid being accused of mimicking the "Patty" subject's left-to-right movement and how to avoid being accused of a clever, but transparent, attempt to intentionally avoid being accused of mimicking "Patty" by directing the guy in the tire suit to cross the frame from right to left.

    I've run this footage through using software to stabilize the frame (and had some very interesting results by viewing the film as a mirror image — the subject actually goes left-to-right!). Using several filters, ranging from a totally black screen to a totally white screen throughout playback, and several other filters that make a big kaleidoscope of the whole thing pulsating to a Hall and Oates album, I've seen no evidence of CG or digital post-production manipulation.

    If this is a tire suit, it's a very, very good one. The subject confirms on the following points:

    • Being round;
    • Overall black or dark grey coloration;
    • An "open" or "metallic-looking center;"
    • Movement generally either downhill in a rolling "bicycle-wheel-like" movement or not at all; and
    • Some bouncing observed when moving over uneven terrain.

    This may be the real deal, folks.
