Bigfoot: Cannibal or Spirit God?

Editor's Note: This is a post by Bigfoot Evidence contributor M. Strudwick, a Sasquatch enthusiast.

If I were to say to you the names “The Cannibal Demon, The Frightener, The Masked Being” what or who would you think of? Many would think they were names of characters from horror movies or books, but no they would be wrong, for in fact these are just three names from a long list, giving to Bigfoot by Native American tribes.

Now what is strange is that some of the other names given sound respectful and spiritual, such as “Big Elder Brother, The Gamekeeper and The Big God”. What this tells me, is that in some areas it seems Bigfoot was a resented, evil creature to be feared and kept away from, in others a quiet enigmatic giant hiding in the woods, whom the tribes revered. One has to ask why do the names differ so much from tribe to tribe? Why would a species be so different area to area?

See what you think and share your opinion.

  9. I don't necessarily think it is a good or evil thing. They are probably just like any other thing living in the wild, or even people, some are fairly tame, others are raging hemorrhoids. Bears and raccoons are good examples. There are lots of both that are very comfortable around humans. But sometimes, they will attack for no reason. Much like humans do too. Then when you add in breeding, young, etc, it really fires things up. Ever come between a sow and her daughter, I mean cub? ;) Good way to get messed up. I imagine if a bigfoot is protecting something, young, territory, injured or a mate they probably are aggressive.

He would then roll pieces up in toilet paper and stick it in his mouth like a dip of chewing tobacco. Sorry if anyone puked a little, but it's true. We are not far from apes at all.

    5. No, I am not a sw. But I work in the mental health field. Started in the mental health/medical field in 1996. I am basically a nursing assistant in the forensic mental health field, picture a nursing aide mixed with correctional officer, wearing street clothes. I work for the state in part of the state hospital classified as an adult correctional setting. Our building is basically a jail, high curved in fences, sallyport entry controlled by security, double door entry into each ward. We do evaluation of people accused of crimes while providing direct care to them and those either undergoing treatment to stand trial or those who have been found not guilty by reason of insanity. When you hear of someone on the news who is accused of a crime and being sent for evaluation, that's us.

The many years in this and other positions working with or around the mentally ill has allowed me to see things in humans no one should ever see. But it has also given me pretty good insight to people. I spent over four years as the security supervisor of a hospital in Tacoma that had a 30 plus bed involuntary commitment unit, a detox unit, a dual diagnosis unit (mental health and drug abuse), an ICU, a med surg unit, an OR, and ER plus outside buildings with offices. I always thought I saw it all there, but someone always surprised me. Still do. I have some friends that want to gather all our stories and write a book. But no one would believe us unless they worked in the same place or field.

Over the years I have had EVERY known body fluid, and probably some unknown, thrown on, spit on, smeared on, and otherwise applied to me. The absolute nastiest I will not name, but only women have it.

I am not sure if scaleburger is open. It really has been years since I stopped for one. They are good, but pricy in my book. I am close enough to home or a full service restaurant that I will usually skip them.

Well, at least if some tribes are correct.

Maybe you just don't want to mess with a big male when it's BF rutting season.

  12. Bottom line, all the negative associations came later when settlers arrived in America. They were obviously from organized religion (Christians).

This is simply a long lost pagan brother who has been ostracized since this country's founding. Some of the names (Cannibal Demon) are catchall for things that go bump in the night.

    1. Sorry but that is total BS. There are negative stories about BF all around the world including where Christianity hasn't had any influence such as remote areas of China. There are several American Indian tribes that had negative stories about bigfoot long before settlers arrived.

Some people just want to blame Christians and religion for everything. WTF is your malfunction?

    2. Disagree - these Christians killed my Druid ancestors oh my brother.

  13. The older the accounts are the more malicious and evil the depictions tend to be. How do we explain that? The most common terms in the oldest anthropological records are "cannibal" & "devil."
