Giant snake attacks truck! Eyewitness interview by Team Tazer

In this video, Michael Merchant, founder of Team Tazer, interviews a witness who survived a giant snake attacking his truck. The witness gives an account of a snake smashing head against his truck window, and firing pistol at the snake with no apparent effect. It's a remarkable story of an undocumented species of monster snake living in the U.S.

Historical accounts of other giant snakes from the turn of the century are also discussed in this interview.

  4. Dear mr Merchant and other researchers,
please have vitnesses like this subtitled, for us visitors from other countries with good English, but not good enough to fully understand a gentleman like this.
    Thank you.

    1. You mean Youtube's close captioning doesn't help?

    2. Youtube's close captioning is in some parts hillarious, and as useless as my English, which is pretty good for a Serbian guy. I have no problem understanding rural accents from the Balkans, or drunken rednecks from my own country, or Hollywood actors playing with accents, but this is too much for me. Youtube seems to have the same problem. Anyway, I got the point of the video. And the cartoons are pretty much it, I suppose.

  5. Living in S. Ga, there have been stories like that for a long time. I disagree with Merchant however. Released boas and pythons have been going on for decades. It isn't just a recent phenomena. My neighbor had a boa when I was a kid in the 70's. I think a bigger cryptid down here is the black panther which skeptics say doesn't live down here yet I have many friends who are hunters and have seen it first hand.

    1. Phantom cats whoo-hoo call the Brits.

Actually call the CFZ, all you have todo is pay their flights, room, board and let them waffle on then let them investigate and go back to go old blighty and write a book about their serendipitous adventures.

    2. Boa's were available maybe as early as the 60's, but Boa constrictors max out around 15 feet with most well under that. The first captive bred Albion Burmese Python was produced by Bob Clark from a wild caught female in 1983, and Bob was one of the pioneers in this field; and has been captively breeding Pythons since the early 70's. While an escaped *pet* python might be responsible for Hunters sighting, it is extremely unlikely it would account for the report from his Grandfather early in this century; when only zoos maintained these critters. And then you have to consider the reports of these massive serpents that go back hundreds of years. I use to bred Burmese Pythons and Boas as well an a number of Colubrids. So it is possible Hunter saw a released captive animal, but when you look at the whole picture; it becomes difficult to give an easy explanation. Take for examine the black rat snake, which is considered the longest native snake we have in North America and the record is listed as 8 feet 5 inches, yet I've several reliable people tell me of killing and measuring Black rat snakes over 10 feet in length. Just this summer one was photographed a few miles from the swamp I was investigating Skunk ape reports in, and although they were no one was able to capture the critter, it was photographed, and estimated to be between 10-15 in length. Snakes never stop growing, so the only limiting factor is genetics, habitat and food supply. What really impressed me about Hunter was he was well informed about the type/species of snakes known to live in the area, and he was also familiar with exotic Pythons. In his opinion, what he saw, didn't match any known snake. :)

    3. THE TEXAS RATTLER RECORD WAS 9'6" a few years ago???

My self and a body caught a rattler crossing a two-track sand road. Mid body, he was the size of a quart of beer. I had my buddy pull the back tire on him 3 times. He wiggled out without really getting pissed. It was a three qtr ton chevy with wide back tires, so it reduced the PSI, but I wouldn't have believed it had I not seen it. I was actually going to make a belt and boots. But when he couldn't pin it with a truck tire, well, I wasn't getting out of the truck. This thing went off in the weeds along way past the two-track in both directions. I'm guessing 11 / 12 foot rattler. When he finally cleared, 5 inches of rattles, most I've seen and they do loose the really old ones. Who knows how old he was. Happened near Bohnam texas, 1983.

  8. The sketch looks like a Rock Python but they don't naturally occur in N. America. They're very aggressive too. Maybe some got released from captivity, who knows?

    1. A rock python would be a good bet, as they are known to be extremely aggressive when compared, say to a Burmese Python to which they are closely related.
