Bart Cutino and Tyler Huggins Release Second Lab Report: Is "Sierras Tissue" Dr. Ketchum's Achilles Heel?
Editor’s Note: This is a guest post by CA-BFRO Researcher, Bart Cutino. He is an unabashed, unapologetic member of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, a diverse group of about 200 researchers and adventurers. He's also a member of the AIBR, the Bigfoot Discovery Museum and a co-founder of the Sierras Evidence Initiative.As I've stated previously in my summary attachment to our Trent University report regarding the “circumstantial” Sierras tissue, our objective and responsibility to the public, fellow researchers, the hunter/submitters and frankly ourselves, was to independently contract multiple labs to screen this sample as a precautionary measure and hopefully rule out “all” potential North American mammalian candidate contributors.
For purposes of “checks and balances” and with respect to both a piece of the frozen Sierras tissue, as well as a piece of the “salt-cured” tissue originating from the same mass (see historic description below) the second lab we contracted in addition to Trent University was DNA Solutions, Inc. (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) and highly respected lab director, Dr. Brandt Cassidy. Dr. Cassidy is a world-renowned expert in DNA research/analysis and lecturer who has also written various abstracts and publications in addition to being actively involved in several professional groups including HITA (Human Identification Trade Association) and The Association of Forensic DNA Analysts and Administrators. Of interesting note, Dr. Cassidy and his team at DNA Solutions Inc. were contracted to create and manage the North American Deer Registry (NADR) in 2007. In September of 2011, Dr. Cassidy and his team reached a historic milestone when they completed testing on their 100,000th whitetail deer.

Bart with Tyler did everything anyone couldve asked with Sierras thing including promise transparency, get testing done and follow through regardless of what tests showed. Both always talked level headed and never made "definite claims" as bart as correctly reminds us alot lol if they are uncertain. No promises by these guys unlike many others who end up sticking foot in there mouths.
Bart also just called melba out to release docs she shouldve already released for analysis.
Now bart gets thermal footage in sierras with a handful of witnesses im dying to see and claims it will be great documented though snt greatest footage ever

ReplyDeleteIf you are referring to me, where do I defend anyone? I asked if the lab explained why the frozen sample was most likely a human hair and the salted sample was from an animal. Bart and Tyler have done exactly what they have said they would. They have answered my questions several times on the stuff they posted. Since this report showed some things that didn't make sense, I asked if they knew the answers. I know those two at least are doing their best to be open and honest with their test reports and I absolutely appreciate it.

I am glad you are releasing this. Hopefully it will lead to something. One problem I noticed though. The microscopic views of the hairs from the two samples don't match. The frozen hair sample hair a very narrow medulla, measuring less than a third of the shaft's diameter. While the second salted sample's medulla is over half the shaft diameter. The frozen sample is consistant with human hairs while the salted sample matches animal hairs. Did they explain this? I also am bothered by the fact that they were able to amplify and sequence human contamination on the frozen sample but not able to amplify any other dna. I hope more data gets released soon by other studies because right now this entire dna subject is a mess. None of the reports released by anyone are very good. Too little data, obvious different hair samples under microscope, etc.

As for the Ketchum report. I have supported it in wanting the data tested. So far it has not been tested. That data is currently being reviewed by people with the proper education and credentials. Nothing anyone with an obvious bias towards bigfoot or Ketchum means diddlely jack squatch. They do not have the data or the education to review it.
If you have not noticed I have refrained from any more comments on the paper. I am waiting for the true experts to come forward. Nothing I say or do makes one bit of difference in the data. It is beyond my education and experience. I can and have asked questions on things found in it and other reports. Some have been resolved. Others have not. So I now wait.

How anyone can question what you guys have done is beyond me especially with what you knew. I will admit that I thought when you guys said you were going to share testing results that if they didn't back Justin you would waiver. I also questioned what was taking so long and boy I was wrong to assume.
