Melissa Hovey Republishes Bigfoot Photo Sans Watermarks
We want to thank Melissa Hovey for publishing this semi-unaltered version of the Bigfoot photo sent to her from an anonymous reader four years ago. The person is claiming that it was from a game cam.
This new but old photo now has the watermarks removed. The original one from this morning containing the watermarks created such severe distortion that it ruined some important details/clues.
In this new photo, you can actually make out some the leaves on the tree in the background. Unless the owner of the property where this photo was taken has planted non-native trees in their backyard or at a low elevation on the west coast, this photo is from an eastern or northeast forest area. This region is normally referred to as a temperate broad-leaf or eastern hardwood forests.
Since I’m not from this area, I’m not sure what kind of tree those leaves belong to but with a clearer photo it should be easier to determine a smaller region than just the east coast.
The Green Region (East Coast) Is Where We're Looking... |
If you are having trouble viewing the photo - please know this blog is overwhelmed with people right now. Most who are having trouble are trying to view on their phones. This may be the problem. Also, I hope this image is much clearer for those who were having trouble viewing because of the watermark. I hadnt realized the watermark created such distortion until it was pointed out.
The photo has been released. I am withholding nothing.
- Melissa Hovey
This is an interesting photo. It's absolutely clear now. It would be nice to see the uncropped version because there is very little to reference from.
ReplyDeleteI do hope that more photos are released from the series. I would really discourage anyone from editing photos in any way, it leads people to become more skeptical.
I'm certainly not qualified to pick apart this photo, but as always, I will look at it until my eyes bleed.
Thank you Melissa, and anyone else who was involved in releasing this picture.
I think it might be a honey suckle tree.
ReplyDeleteit's darn possible thus making it an Ohio tree, or other similar eastern state.
DeleteChuck
Leaves don't look right for honeysuckle. I was thinking rhododendron.
DeleteNot a rhodo - I spend lots of time fly fishing in the Appalachians and have tangled my flies in countless rhododendrons...
DeleteThe trees look fake to me.
There isnt enough light but it does look similar to a rhodendron to me.
DeleteI live in WNC. That's either Rhododendron or what we call Mtn. Laurel.
DeleteThe blooms have just expired. They are Evergreens and bloom in the early spring.
Poor guy looks like he's got sores on his head and the scab on his back isn't pretty either. Those pimples close to the bottom of his right shoulder would be kinda hard to fake, wouldn't it?
If he's been lying down the hair would be pressed that way.
If this is not a trail cam, I suspect it was taken with a flash and regular camera. If that's the case there must be a lot of trust between the Hairy guy and the picture taker. I don't blame the person for not telling who or where. It'll probably save the poor guys life.
Just my opinion but I'm happy not knowing the location and identity of the picture taker.
Thanks Melissa for sharing this with some of us.
Another thing that adds to the validity of the picture for me is the leaves on the plant that are not green, the yellow and brown and shriviled up ones look like what we call winter burn.
DeleteNow with the water mark gone I can see what you mean. You don't think the hair looks to fine and perfectly combed? If he was Lying down it would be matted much more, don't ya think? Also where the left ARM should be looks like its completely cut off.
DeleteNot trying to hate, but every time someone says they have a great pic or this or that, we get a pic that is full of questions.

im in upstate ny and can never recall seeing plastic leaves in the woods i wish this turns more into real than fake ive been in woods all over ny i drive the entire state almost weekly and i can say ive never seen these leaves anywhere ive been hunting since i was 5 with my uncles and father its been 3 decades of serious hunting and have only seen 4 bears in this time and 1 opened my window and went for my dogs .i know there all over my area but never see them so why not bigfoot he is real just tired of people shit
DeleteMy problem is if this is from a game camera there should be more photos associated with this. There might be, but until they come out you have to say no bueno.
ReplyDeleteBigfoots Broski
Whatever it is. It's shoulders and traps are huge. It looks like it's been juicin.
ReplyDeleteThe hair looks consistant with reports. Looks a lot like what I saw in the field back in 94. Could be a suit but it looks very well done which is not consistant with the source.
ReplyDeleteMM.
Why would there have to be more photos? I'm not saying this is the real deal but maybe the camera was set to take pics. 2 mins. apart, or 5 or whatever giving the subject plenty of time to move out of frame and on to his cave...or hut...or wherever.
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming the game photos were for hunting and no way you set them 2 minutes apart if you do a for could walk by first and a monster buck could follow and you would never see it.
DeleteBigfoots Broski
Whats Ron Jeremy doing in the woods?
ReplyDeleteThe "source"? What do you mean MM?
ReplyDeleteThey did state this is one of a serious of photos, in a earlier post.
ReplyDeleteSeries not serious...
ReplyDeleteLooks like a "Hop-Horn-Beam" ( the tree in the photo )
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostrya_virginiana
OK lets get this straight not all trail cams take serious of pics most have settings to chose to but not all do
ReplyDeleteJ bigfoot community are suckers
ReplyDeleteI would love to see Bobo in the exact same spot for a size comparison.
ReplyDeleteBobo may be as tall, but he don't have a physique like that. Jimmy Snuka coming out of retirement after doing several cycles of steroids. This thing is powerful looking!!
DeleteSuperfly!
DeleteIt's interesting to compare this to Daniel Falconer's photoshopped sketch of John Cartwright's North Carolina sighting: http://i712.photobucket.com/albums/ww128/ojcart/bigfoot/SquatchWatch8x10Flat.jpg
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of Rhododendron's there too.
DeleteWow good catch, I've never seen that picture before but it does look very very close.
Deletehttp://www.olympicproject.com/id5.html check out these photos from the olympic project, they use Reconyx camera traps, some of the best camera traps out there and compare to the 4 year or older bigfoot photo. If this was taken on a trail cam its uses a real flash and not ir lights. It looks HD to me and i just have not seen a trail cam that takes a photo that good.
ReplyDeleteMy problem with the Olympic Project's trail cam photos is that they have nice, clear photos of many animals and then--suddenly a blurry squatch. The cougar photo is obviously at a close range, esp. given what they make out to be the squatches face in the photo they have. With the distance and the flash freezing everything, you'd expect a clear image + image ghost from motion, if any. Just my opinion.
Deletebut yes, this one is also too good for a trail cam...
DeleteGood point, Unknown. I agree with you. Without the full image or the back story, there is simply not enough info to make a solid case. Because of this... it seems fishy to me.
ReplyDeleteCould be standing still (no blur) because it is eating from that tree?
ReplyDeleteTree is really unusual to me. Leaves look glossy almost like a tropical plant, those flowers also look tropical.
ReplyDeleteThe only good thing about this photo is the way the skin folds on the right shoulder, also the lateral head of the triceps might be visible.
Other issues I've not yet seen mentioned are: it's very good quality photo for a cropped 4 year old trail cam, camera hardly captures any of the background,
Flowering LOQUAT tree. Not native to the US. It bears fruit as well.
DeleteIf it's a monkey suit, it's a REALLY nice one.
ReplyDeleteJMHO, but the waxy green serrated leaves look like a loquat tree's leaves - Japanese plum tree. Not native to the US, but you can find them in more than a few backyards from coast to coast -
ReplyDeletehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/tgerus/3200348266/
That's a very good match to the tree in the photo.Good find.
DeleteIf that's it then maybe he's eating the fruit?
DeleteGood work. But who sets up a trail cam in a garden, and why is sasquatch in the garden? Could it be a costume from a Japanese or Chinese movie/tv show?
DeleteMy understanding is the gentleman set the camera up on his property because a family of BF frequent the site. I'm not convinced he's using a trail cam. The picture is far too clear and detailed for a typical trail cam image.
DeleteOh yeah Robert Lindsay originally called it a trailcam, but Melissa Hovey refer to it as a photo sent by a witness. Therefore, Lindsay is probably wrong again.
DeleteBut Munns also refered to it as a cropped trail cam. So who knows.
DeleteYeah Lidsay said it was from a trailcam. What a tool! I hate Lidsay! Why doesn't he just go away...
DeleteI agree with Robert lindseys that Robert lindsay is a tool and should go away.
DeleteLindsay, Munns, and this website call it a trail cam. But Hovey never publicly called it a trail cam.(as far as I can tell). This just adds to the controvery. Hovey needs to clear the air.
Deleteps. Chill out RL. :)
Leaves, maybe, but the flowers are all wrong. I still say it's rhododendron.
DeleteIt looks real. The earlier photo did not. That said, it's not possible to prove it's real without a lot more detail and corroborating evidence.
ReplyDeleteRight--every Squatch will look like a good hoax. Every good hoax will look like a Squatch. I guess we're stuck in a conundrum until something truly indisputable comes along. I want to believe, goddammit!!!
DeleteBest guess: It's a sculpture made with what looks like skin and hair. Until there are more photos, that's the best explanation.
ReplyDeleteI still don't believe in bigfoot, but I'm not opposed to GOOD evidence. This doesn't qualify.
Sculpture made if skin?? Unless you are Ted bundy where do you get skin to make a sculpture?
Deleteu guys blind? its Fasano...
ReplyDeleteWhat I don't get is how the bigfoot ended up directly infront of the game camera, and why you would set up a game camera with a tree/branches right in front of it. If the bigfoot wasn't there, it seems like the camera would just be set up to shoot the tree/branch that is directly in front of it. I am a believer and my wife has seen one (recently), but I am having a hard time buying this photo, mainly on the setup of the camera, does anyone else agree?
ReplyDeleteThat's an excellent point, i was thinking the same thing. It's hard to tell with that thing blocking the camera, but it almost looks as if that camera angle is looking straight at that tree. Also, who puts a trail cam at an angle like that? The creature is captured in a loose medium close up, and we all know bigfoot are apparently over 6 feet tall. If it wasn't set up to capture a BF, then i really can't of another animal that would pass in front of that camera angle. Birds maybe?
DeleteIt's not Bill Emery's Big Clyde lost on the East Coast is it?
ReplyDeleteits charlie sheen, taking a piss behind dr drews house, hes been snorting rogane again
ReplyDeleteThe photo has been cropped so the camera was probably pointed at a large area and then they zoomed in and cropped the photo. The camera probably wasn't just pointed at a bush from a few feet away.
ReplyDelete"Lindsay, Munns, and this website call it a trail cam. But Hovey never publicly called it a trail cam.(as far as I can tell). This just adds to the controvery. Hovey needs to clear the air.

I'm not Lindsey or Whoever but, She does say that the witness called this a game cam shot on her blog.
I'm in North Carolina and spend allot of time in the Piedmont woods and NC mountains. The plants do look like Rhododendron to me. I'm not a witness, but the length of hair, hair color and sparsity is as described to me by a witness I trust completely. That witness saw up close, what appeared to be a older male and younger male, (definitely male) from a tree stand.
He said the hair on the subjects he saw was not matted and appeared almost groomed.
Just my thoughts
