Using a live baboon to lure in Bigfoot [Finding Bigfoot]

One of the perks of having Bigfoot show is that you're encouraged to experiment with wild and crazy things, like having a live ape on location. Cliff Barackman mentioned in his blog today that in the New York episode of Finding Bigfoot, they brought a baboon with them to an expedition and they were hoping the ape's noisy howls would arouse the interest of a curious Bigfoot.
"It had been a dream of Bobo's for as long as I've known him, and it was great to see him live his dream," wrote Barackman.

ReplyDeleteInteresting idea. I wondered why no one had brought an ape into the wild just to see what it might do or take note of or how it would tackle the environment, but as a lure--interesting. Sometimes, you just have to keep throwing shit at the wall until something sticks. I give BoBo credit for being an outside-the-box-kinda guy.
ReplyDeleteThe thing is Autumn there's no need for fishing to see if something like a baby matt monkey maker'll act as a lure for Bigfoot.
DeleteThere's definite evidence young menstruating human females draw the interest of the critter concerned in which case mightn't a better idea be to have a sort of register of female volunteers willing to go in mobhanded to a suitable area at a time when they're all about to have or're having their period?
People thought of this before. No one in the bigfoot research community had the budget and access to primates. The Michael Crichton book "Congo" kind of alludes to this idea. They take a gorilla that has been trained to sign out to deal with dangerous primates.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying it has to be an It's It -- because it can be any kind of ice cream -- but it's best if the lure item is enrobed in chocolate and has some sort of cookie element.

ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned before, ice cream novelties are the ideal lure for the elusive MaMo, but you can also use news articles about MaMo to lure MaMo for the Mamo is notoriously self obsessed.
ReplyDeleteI've got to believe this technique could bring results. One would have to leave it for a few days and I think it would be better if you had at least two in a cage at least the size of a boxing ring. You've got to like Bobo.

ReplyDeleteThis technique was used in the 1800's in Africa to lure two man eating lions. A movie was done on the story."The Ghost and the Darkness". One of my favorites.

Beyond being cool to have a Baboon I don't see why a Bigfoot would be attracted to another Ape considering it has never seen one before. I mean isn't the greatest Ape around walking through the forest everyday? Humans.
ReplyDeleteMost Bigfoot sightings are just large Raccoon families winding through the trees. They work as a team and their combined mass looks very similar to a large woodman (Bigfoot.)

ReplyDeleteI mean, c'mon, Why are all Woodman(Bigfoot) photos blurry? It's because people don't have time to prep their equipment, I'm guessing.
ReplyDeleteIt would be funny if the caged baboon lured in a troop of about 100 baboons living in the wilds of North America unknown to anyone.

ReplyDeleteWhy not put matt or BoBo in a cage and see what happens?Heck the baboon is just going to go nuts and if a bigfoot comes along he just kill it. So it's just for the ratings!
