Derek Randles Extends Olive Branch To Justin Smeja [Sierra Kills]
We have confirmed the following exchange between Justin Smeja and Derek Randles is really from them. Last night, as we were on the phone with Smeja to get his take on the recent controversy, Randles called in on the other line to settle the matter.

I hate to put an end to this soap opera before it gets more legs but I got nothing but good things to say about Derek. In the future you will not hear me ever say a negative thing about him, nor have I in the past.
I got no judgement for anybody. People do what they do. Sometimes without reason or rhythm and rhyme or the right amount of patience. I sure don't claim to be smarter then some and i don't have all the answers and my mistakes are many. I've shown a complete lack of good judgement time and again.
Derek has been nothing but a good friend to me. He has always perused the truth and tried to do whats right and get to the bottom of this no matter what.

Thank you for that Justin. I sincerely hope we can keep our friendship, and I mean that. To the rest of you, I wasn't in this for the money, I was in this for the truth. I believe 100% that Justin is telling the truth, and I do know the DNA test results. I've never cared to be famous, and I'm quite sure I'll never be rich. I do this research because I love it and it keeps me in the woods. All I can tell you folks that spit venom is, you don't know me or my motivations. I won't be involved with this event any longer because it goes against what I believe in. I've tried to hunker down and ride it out but I simply can't do it anymore. I'd rather sleep well at night than be famous for the wrong reasons. I know Justin's sorry for what he did.

ReplyDeleteJustin's a good person? I think his character, moral/ethic codes and hunting attitude's rotten. There are no monsters. A person can't be very good anyway if you shoot at soemthing you're not licensed/allowed to like bipedal or humanlike targets, I would've thought that's the first rule of hunting you just don't ever break.
