In this case, however, it appears to be a doe skull and therefore probably not stuck while rubbing the tree. Any number of natural or man influnced ways it could have gotten there. The deer was using the tree a...No one put it there. The deer was using the tree as a rub and got stuck. Then he starved to death. Scavengers plucked away at the carcass and dragged it away over the months. Not a mystery. Happens all the time. I've found 3 deer skulls lodged between trees in my lifetime. Two had partial skeletons still attached and one a trail of bones leading 200 yards away.
