The Rocky Mountain Sasquatch Organization heads into the Uinta Mountain area where numerous bigfoot encounters have happened.

    2. For all that scientific opinion... surely it should be easy to debunk “Bigfoot”? Oh, and Hawkins was a theoretical physicist and cosmologist, probably not the best authority on matters of wildlife biology/primatology/anthropology (cringe).

Funny how proportionately the same amount of bigfoot sightings in the UK as in the US were dismissed as misidentification by ikdummÿ based on the absurdity of a large unknown primate living in his own country but ikdummÿ has no issue believing bigfoot lives in other countries. Distance makes the make-believe more palatable for ikdumms...

    10. Bigfoot isn`t being "peer reviewed" by anybody with any credibility - maybe by people of Todd Standing`s creed...that is about the stamp of the "peer review"...certainly not by reputable scientists.

Why is there NO evidence in 50+ years of searching ?

      Delete
    11. You’re not remotely qualified enough to say who has or hasn’t any credibility. For example, you think theoretical physicists/cosmologists are within the boundaries of commenting about wildlife biology/primatology/anthropology. You have no clue about anything you’re trying to sound clever about. And whilst you think “Bigfoot doesn’t exist” 50 times a day some bearing on the subject... it’s just a therapy exercise pal.

Better to role-play the evidence away ten times daily than looking stupid trying to explain it away.

    13. And you think that the deaths of hundreds of thousands of South Africans is funny. No wonder you’re such good friends with the “race realist” Zabo.

“‘Denying the link between HIV and A*DS is scientific illiteracy,’ says Yusef Azad, director of policy and campaigns at the National Aids Trust, Britain's leading HIV/A*DS charity. ‘But worse than that, it is profoundly dangerous and has caused countless unnecessary deaths. Just because something is on the internet does not mean it is even remotely true. More than two decades of peer-reviewed scientific research demonstrates in some detail how HIV attacks the immune system and causes A*DS if left untreated.’”

“But Duesberg – now an outcast to mainstream medical science – continues to push his ideas, winning credence among those who are, for their own reasons, unwilling to accept the truth. Prominent present-day denialists include Henry Bauer, a retired chemistry and life sciences professor at Virginia State University and Eleni Papadopulos-Eleopulos, a medical biophysicist working at Royal Perth Hospital, at the University of Western Australia. All three have a strong following online.”

    17. My word... what an episode.

My response to that would be the same only half a day ago. A*DS is not funny. And a study about A*DS published in the same journal that published Meldrum’s paper, does not paint said journal in a poor light, because more mainstream journal are being criticised for publication biases, as well as being susceptible to hoaxes. Meaning the “holier than thou” attitude towards fringe journals is hypocritical. For example...

“Academic corruption is an intractable issue plaguing journals, institutions, learned societies, and governments across the globe. While the volume of scientific publishing is increasing, the competitive pressure to get published is leading some researchers to indulge in misconduct. The enormity of this issue is evident from the increased volume of retractions. One of the major forms of misconduct is peer review manipulation, which is becoming increasingly and worryingly common. Every so often we encounter news of mass retractions by journals due to peer review manipulation. In 2015, more than 100 retractions were attributed to peer review scams. Recently, Springer Nature retracted 58 articles after discovering that the peer review process had been compromised. The incident brought back into limelight the loopholes in one of the pillars of academic publishing process: peer review.”

    18. Your “journal” is a repository for rejected loony ideas and fraudulently attempts to provide an aura of credibility for those idiotic ideas. The leader of a large nation was influenced by such crackpot science and enacted a policy based upon one such inane idea — it directly led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people.

When this was pointed out to you, you not only made up ridiculous excuses, you openly laughed at hundreds of thousands of human deaths. Good job ikdummy, you should be proud.

    20. Nargh!

It’s just a journal that doesn’t prejudice against fringe topics and puts them through scientific scrutiny and on the most part, debunks them. For such a terrible journal, you’re not doing a very good job at debunking Meldrum’s work, are you?

“In November last year, BioMed Central uncovered evidence of repeated and inappropriate attempts to manipulate the peer review process of several journals. The apparent intention was to deceive Editors and positively influence the outcome of peer review by suggesting fabricated reviewers. Given the scale of the deception, we alerted COPE (the Committee on Publication Ethics) and a number of other publishers. COPE issued a statement providing further advice for publishers. PLOS also recently issued a statement here. Although we originally found only a handful of affected published articles, a subsequent extensive and systematic search of all of our journals identified 43 articles that were published on the basis of reviews from fabricated reviewers. After contacting the authors involved, and notifying their institutions, we have now begun retracting these articles. We have also contacted institutions about a much larger number of rejected articles where the names of fabricated reviewers had been supplied. Some of the manipulations appear to have been conducted by third-party agencies offering language-editing and submission assistance to authors. It is unclear whether the authors of the manuscripts involved were aware that the agencies were proposing fabricated reviewers on their behalf or whether authors proposed fabricated names directly themselves.”
      https://blogs.biomedcentral.com/bmcblog/2015/03/26/manipulation-peer-review/

You don’t have any gold standard of journal to abide by, since mainstream journal’s credibility is being taken apart. Did anyone tell you that you’re painfully pretentious you’re angry?

    34. Well since Stuey insists on crying for my attention all day, every day of his life... And having diagnosed all of his emotional & psychological issues, I feel like I know Stuey. Hence at the time I was happy to have a drink with him in Leeds...

But you’re not Stuey, surely?! You’re an anonymous stranger, one of several that are all out to get me, right?! I thought there were loads of anons arguing with me here?!

Just like my fringe journal doesn’t influence the scientific world one minute, and then has the influence to kill off thousands the next... Just like Patty is too blurry to make out any detail, but you can see hip waders & zippers the next... Just like Roger Paterson was a genius costume hoaxer, but couldn’t get a basic timeline accurate... And just like one minute it’s all down to 100 role-playing hoaxers all up and down the country, and then it’s all misidentification the next...

It’s a struggle getting any coherency from you.

      Delete
    35. So you’re either confirming you’re from Leeds... Or admitting you’re the same anon. I’m not sure how this even begins to start debunking Bigfoot... But thanks for that!

Insane leaps are more like believing everyone here is attacking you from a psy-ops experiment airforce base in the US. When I read that, I knew that you were likely on medication for bipolar disorder, which I still believe is a real possibility. Which COULD be why you experience such extreme lows of depression and need to draw people into negativity here to help forget about your own emotional turmoil. The thing is Stu, is the more you troll, it’s more indicative of how cruddy you’re feeling. They kind of go hand in hand.

Hundreds of open access journals, including those published by industry giants Sage, Elsevier and Wolters Kluwer, have accepted a fake scientific paper in a sting operation that reveals the "contours of an emerging wild west in academic publishing".

The hoax, which was set up by John Bohannon, a science journalist at Harvard University, saw various versions of a bogus scientific paper being submitted to 304 open access journals worldwide over a period of 10 months.

The paper, which described a simple test of whether cancer cells grow more slowly in a test tube when treated with increasing concentrations of a molecule, had "fatal flaws" and used fabricated authors and universities with African affiliated names, Bohannon revealed in Science magazine.
