    2. The reason a high percentage of psychopaths come from neglectful family backgrounds, is because a baby in its most earliest stages of infancy learns that fear erodes once his/her cries are responded to. No parental response to crying means stress, resulting in heightened cortisol levels that in turn leads to a permanently damaged and defective brain in the prefrontal and paralimbic regions. In later life, the requirement for control in a psychopath ensures that nothing can dishearten them. Kind of like the comment section of a Bigfoot blog, where any civil exchange of ideas might threaten the psycho-nerd's little world inside his bedroom, about monsters outside in his backyard.

  2. Hello Iktomi

    Hope all is well

    The troll here does have serious issues. Mixing prescription drugs with booze is probably one of his biggest. Got no future until he cleans up

    2. Yep, surface area increases by square power and volume increases by cubic power so large animals have more volume per unit surface area.

    4. Why does Iktomi's post disappear after a couple of seconds? xx

    5. I think it's how BFE stopped the trolls posting long comments with gaps in before, remember? If you have a comment with loads of gaps, it just deleted the comment after a few seconds.

    6. Here it is again...

      MMC, I often wonder about "Sasquatch" and their obvious tolerance to cold weather. Polar bears (mammals all the same) are the largest recognised land-based carnivore on the planet with males reaching 1500 lbs in weight, to which helps them retain body heat. Animals that have higher volume to surface-area ratio, means they lose less heat through their skin. Importantly, this is an adaptation common to many species in cold habitats. The biothermal facts are that it is easier to freeze a mouse than it is an elephant. Even big mammals from tropical homelands adapt to winter outside in northern zoos better than smaller species;
      "All through the animal kingdom, the production of body heat drops in a very regular way as body size increases. But generally, the radiation of heat is less for the large animal.
      Weight:
      rabbit = 1 # and elephant = 10,000 #
      elephant = 10,000 x heavier

      Calories / #/ hr:
      Rabbit = 280 & elephant = 28
      The elephant produces 10 x less heat per pound per hour (280 vs 28)

      Skin Area:
      Rabbit = 75 sq. in per # & elephant = 3.4 sq.in per #
      So the elephant has 22 x less skin per pound (75 vs 3.4)
      SUMMARY
      Compared to the rabbit, the elephant, per pound produces 10 x less heat per pound but has 22 x less skin area per pound thru which it lose body heat. Even though it produces less heat, it loses MUCH less heat and is always warmer.
      Rabbit = 3.7 calories per square inch and the elephant = 8 calories per square inch
      Elephant: 2.2 x more heat / per square inch of skin is retained."

      "The Yaghan are one of the indigenous peoples of the Southern Cone, who are regarded as the southernmost peoples in the world. Their traditional territory includes the islands south of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego, extending their presence into Cape Horn. They have been there for more than 10,000 years. The Yaghan were traditionally nomads, who were hunter-gatherers. They traveled by canoes between islands to collect food: the men hunted sea lions, while the women dived to collect shellfish. Despite the extremely cold climate in which they lived, early Yahgan wore little to no clothing until after their extended contact with Europeans. They were able to survive the harsh climate because they kept warm by huddling around small fires when they could, including in their boats to stay warm. The name of "Tierra del Fuego" (land of fire) was based on the many fires seen by passing European explorers. They made use of rock formations to shelter from the elements. They covered themselves in animal grease. Over time, they had evolved significantly higher metabolisms than average humans, allowing them to generate more internal body heat. Their natural resting position was a deep squatting position, which reduced their surface area and helped to conserve heat. They were famed for their complete indifference to the bitter weather around Cape Horn. Although they had fire and small domed shelters, they routinely went about completely naked in the frigid cold and biting wind of Tierra del Fuego. Women swam in its 48-degree-south waters hunting for shellfish. They often were observed to sleep in the open, completely unsheltered and unclothed, while Europeans shivered under blankets. A Chilean researcher claimed their average body temperature was warmer than a European's by at least one degree."

      Now even though they were widely reported to use fire, there is in this tribe an astonishing example of how humans can adapt to the cold. Imagine what a very large, heavily built human might be able to achieve given the aforementioned examples of higher volume to surface-area ratio?

      Just a thought.

    8. Give me a while ikitomi. That's some very interesting stuff. But off the top of my head I can tell you that air is the best insulator and it is also a known fact that American Eskimos have a higher tollerence to cold than down Landers

    10. Ok Iki

      When icefishing I practice deep breathing techniques to stay warm. When oxygen meets red blood cells heat is created as a byproduct of the chemical reaction. You may be sitting in one spot forma long time if the fishing is good. When you work hard you get hot due to this chemical reaction not because your muscles are moving. Deep breathing is truly an art and needs to be practiced to get good at it. You don't want to hyperventilate. That's how those Buddhist monks can set in freezing weather with out freezing. And it also speeds up your metabolism. When you are hot you pant. With out you knowing it your body is shallow breathing to avoid the chemical reaction.

      If your hair/fur has air pockets in it it is a better insulator. In the Himalayas it is said that BF actually lives in the warm valleys while only going high to hunt or get to the next valley over by the shortest route

    11. And last

      The structures that ppl have found, especially the ones in the mogillon Arizona reagion are well insulated. And it is said that the bigfeet leave the area and head south in the winter where the food is and maybe better tempatures
