This Is What's Involved In Making A Real Bigfoot Costume

A professional from the Stan Winston school of special effects shares this tutorial on making a bigfoot muscle suit. Some say that this type of costume explains the muscle patterns seen in the Patterson film creature. Sure.

  1. I don't know, the second sketch from the left looks pretty convincing.

  3. Stan Winston is on record as saying that the subject in the PGF is a human in fur suit and that the suit could have been made at the time for about a thousand dollars.

And Hillary say's she didn't send any "classified" material.

I'll Take Gimlins word over Stan whoever??? ha ha ha

    3. Stan Winston was one of the greatest Hollywood costume and special effects experts whoever lived. If he said something about the Patterson film and a costume, his statements are at least worth considering and respecting based on his expertise. Even if you don't agree with his conclusions.

    5. so then make one and test it out. You chuckleheads wouldn't raise the money between yourselves ? give up buying video games for a month and use that money to make a replica PGF bigfoot .
every attempt to replicate one has been laughable at best
      got monkey suit ?

    6. Actually make one using 1967 costume material . of course there has been so much advance in the special effects field that did not exist back then

    7. "If one of my colleagues created this for a movie, he would be out of business."
      - Stan Winston

You see... This just digs a hole, because if someone like Stan can state that the costume could cost a couple of $100, then why couldn't a BBC budget manage it? Why couldn't Blevins manage it?? For someone with as big a rep, he didn't think that one out too thoroughly did he? Well if I someone who had knocked up a monkey suit to best 46 year's worth of advances, I'd hand him a job! Ha ha ha!!

For a Hollywood SFX expert to be cynical of the PGF; typical. They wanna be the best in their business. It's providing die cloth methods that's required.

    8. Ever attempt to explain the validity of Bigfoot has been laughable at best.

I swear the PG film is like the Holy Grail to Footers. Whether anyone has replicated a suit based on your judgement is irrelevant and you are just too stupid to understand that. Got monkey suit, hur durr...

He couldn't possibly be just stating an honest opinion could he?

    10. hold on a minute there cowboy !
Patterson should really be in the special effects hall of fame . He was in no way trained to make costumes and yet according to the skeptics he managed to put together a costume for little money that has fooled so many experts and has yet to be duplicated with any credible results
wow, he must have been a true genius right up there with Edison and Da Vinci
or he could have just captured a real bigfoot on film

    11. 7:07- you are such a blockhead. i'd like to see you make a costume and then i'll start singing your tune but until that please shut your gob

      Joe

    12. Joe if any one around here is a blockhead it's you. Why do I have to make a costume? What if I do and it's good, are you going to give me credit- no because that would blow away your fantasy. Go back to drinking.

    13. Patterson and Gimlin should be in the haoxers and con hall of fame.

    14. of course i'd give you credit mate but that will never happen because blockheads like you are all talk and zero action. Go ahead and make a suit- i triple dare you. i know you wont and will just slither back into your couch too play video games and drink your diet cola and eat your cheetos
sorry bro, you'll always lose at this game

      Joe

    15. You can dare me all you want, lol. I never said I would, just that you wouldn't admit to a good effort. Like I said it's irrelevant anyway.

    16. Sorry! But has Stan Winston conducted analysis on the 'suit' or just offered a lazy opinion, just like Rick Baker, Howard Berger, Dave Kindlon?
Rick Baker - 'rumoured' to have made the costume as he was working on movies at the time, whilst none of his representatives are willing to comment and verify those claims.
Howard Berger - merely claimed that he heard that the PG film was a 'gag' and has yet to comment on why he thinks it's a suit and compares the PG creature to Harry and the Henderson's as 'proof' it's fake.
Dave Kindlon - claims he 'overheard' PG was fake from Rick Baker - again, full of claims and rumors and speculates it's fake as opposed to offering any explanation why it's a 'suit'
Verne Langdon - claims that 'the suit was advanced for the day' (opinionated I believe and again not offering an explanation how the suit was made)

... The list of these experts goes on with them all turning out to be close associates looking to be the best in their field and none of them offering an explanation as to how the 'suit' was made... casting their opinion like all lazy uninterested sceptics. Whereas, Bill Munns DOES actually look into the possibility of a suit being made and can't for the life of him replicate it or be able to fit the dimensions of a human in it. All these people offered an opinion on the spot as opposed to thorough analysis that would be suficient to pass judgement on something that has the proportions Patty has.

If you're making a claim or being critical of said source, then you bear a burden to substantiate that with a monkey suit. Don't cry about it, man up.

    17. they'll never man up Iktomi because to do that they'd have to be real men

    18. ...Around the time of the PGF, Roger was planning on making a pseudo-documentary about bigfoots..He would have of course needed a bigfoot costume for this project: it would have been the most important element...What wee see in the PGF is certainly not an off the rack Morris job. If it is a costume it is pretty elaborate, so given the mountain
of investigative work into the background of the PGF it is surprising
there is very little information about
      the construction of a suit...EEG

      Delete
    20. yes, he was planning a documentary and i can even believe he did buy a suit from Morris which is not what he took a film of. I also believe he got extremely lucky and filmed a real creature and ditched the idea of using the costume since he had the real deal on film

    21. Sorry kid, you might have to be in bed when your parents pull the plug on the Internet, but I'm an adult and can pretty much so what I like.

Hey EEG! You are correct. Roger was making a documentary where he was intending on filming scenes about famous historical Bigfoot reports. I believe some of the footage from that has in fact been used over the years.

    22. Posting on a Bigfoot blog at 3:00 AM is certainly indicative of a mature, well adjusted adult who has a wonderful life! Ha Ha Ha!

    23. Sorry... I forgot you set the bench mark of maturity with "Joerg Juice" comments. I guess you're well adjusted. How many on the airforce base today?

      ******* loon.

      Delete
    24. Oh, and lastly... I really don't think Roger would have been so detailed in his "costume" shooting in shaky 16MM. I don't think he anticipated the footage being digitalised and stabelised 45 years later and put SFX defying detail to his costume in case. Detail that could have got him a job in the most well paid of Hollywood SFX.

      ... Night y'all!

    25. Did you anticipate staying up until 5 AM to post nonsensical comments on a Bigfoot blog?

    26. ...Hi Iktomi..Have a good night..

    27. 9:37... You were here for the same amount of time, not being able to provide substance against "nonsensical comments". Not a good look.

  4. If Stan had said that he believed it to be real instead of not real, and all else being the same, iktomi would be holding him up as proof of Bigfoot. Instead iktomi tries to discredit. It's all based on bias, not objectivity.

    1. It's pretty simple... Where's the monkey suit? If Winston took the time to analyse the piece, fair enough... But he's not gonna endorse a piece publicly when he's not only likely sceptical of the subject himself, when he's not seen the footage prior to stabilisation, but also when he needs to be looking for work and not coming across like a "nutjob".

Remember, according to him... It should be made with the smallest of budgets. The same approach most had before the footage was stabelised. If that's the case... Where's the monkey suit?

      Delete
    2. And you wouldn't be picking him apart at all if he gave the opposite opinion. You wouldn't be asking where's the monkey suit if he said it wasn't a monkey suit. Would you, kid?

      Delete
    3. ^ since it's pretty clear you don't believe in bigfoot what is the reason why you are here other than to be a jackarse ?
