New Bigfoot Movie "Campout" Being Filmed In Ohio

Clint Howard, brother to the more famous Ron Howard, joins local filmmaker Glenn Martin, in a movie inspired by childhood events and local news stories.

The film is about a sasquatch rampaging through Athens County after the murder of its offspring. The film's leads work to save a group of teenagers who are camping out from the bigfoot's wrath.

"Campout" will be shot, edited and produced locally in and around Nelsonville, and features both local and national talent.

Martin said on Saturday, after wrapping up filming a scene at C & J Income Tax Services in Nelsonville, that the idea for the film came to him through some childhood memories, and a recent newspaper report about bigfoot sightings in southeast Ohio.

"When I was probably 16 or 17 we played this 'capture the flag' game which is kind-of what we're doing in the movie," Martin said. "It's kind of based on what happened to us one night - we kept hearing something going around in the woods around us.

"Then they had an article in The Athens Messenger about a bigfoot sighting in Fairfield, Hocking, Athens (Counties). That gave me the idea for this whole thing."

  1. Yet another film about Bigfoot and with the same tired old plot. Unbelievable! Do the producers really make money off these things?
