Breakdown: The Naysh River Sasquatch Video

In 2008, an epic video was recorded of an alleged Bigfoot. Walking over the frozen Naysh River, the dark figure was observed for some time before disappearing out of sight. At least, that;s the story.

Coned head, all over auburn color, grey on face and palms of the hands, compliant gate, backwards sloping forehead, risepausefall aaaand BOOM! there it is. This is a real living breathing sasquatch. I can't even imagine how the filmer felt. That's very very powerful.

    9. I saw it now. It's a cool picture and looks realistic, but if you got a picture that good of a real bigfoot, why would you want to remain anonymous? People don't want to take ownership of things that are hoaxed.

No seriously you are correct. This picture has been around for few years and nothing on it. No critics, no ownership, nothing. That has me wondering also

Oh well guess we'll have to wait for Matthew A Johnson, one of the most credible people in the bigfoot world, to chime in on this one!

come join us trolls on the dark side. it is so much more rewarding. everyday I get somenew new off of this site. It may be knowledge on rare animals,or learning about the climate in various parts of the world. But mostly I get my fill of chuckles and laughter at what some of the loons honestly believe. 4. I have a question for you guys. Paranormal claims fall into one of four categories: parapsychology (telepathy, ESP), the supernatural (ghosts, miracles, near-death experiences), cryptozoology (Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster), and extra-terrestrial (UFOs, alien abductions). In your opinion, what category of claims is most likely to include at least one authentic paranormal experience? Here is how I would rank them from MOST plausible to LEAST plausible:

    1. Supernatural
    2. Cryptozoology
    3. Extra-terrestrials
    4. Parapsychology

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. True cryptozoology has nothing to do with the paranormal. Its an unrecognized(by academia)interdisciplinary study. The disciplines being zoology and its various branches, cultural anthropology(or whatever folklore comes under) and psychology...

      Delete
    2. According to Wikipedia, the word "paranormal" designates an experience that lies outside "the range of normal experience or scientific explanation." Since science does not currently recognize the existence of Bigfoot, a Bigfoot sighting qualifies as a paranormal experience.

      Delete
    3. Well in that case the definition is to broad and does not fit the common notion of paranormal. If I was to find some unknown beetle in the Amazon I would not associate the event with the phrase "paranormal experience". So again, in my opinion this definition is too broad..

      Delete
    4. There is one other paranormal event that I would rate as #1 on the list. That is the 10% of us guys who get 99.99999% of all the hot babes taterholes. To the rest of you who never even get a date these claims must seem to be paranormal

      Delete
    5. I love Bigfoot and I get more ass than a toilet seat.

Putting aside the debate over semantics, does anyone want to answer my original question? I thought it would be interesting discussion. Guess not.

      Delete
    6. Well, I would say cryptozoology is the most obvious choice. Its possible the orang pendak is an undiscovered primate-maybe something in the same genus as orangs. In that case a pendak witness had a genuine paranormal experience, according to this definition....

      Delete
    7. 1. Parapsychology...In y mind already proven by science. There are questions about it but it is seen by many as a very real phenomenon.

      2. Extra-terrestrials...This should probably be number 1. There is no question life exists elsewhere in the universe. The question is are we at the top of the heap or are we nothing but ants? This will be answered in the next 10 to 20 years, well within my lifetime.

      3. Supernatural...I tend to not believe in much of this mess. But I will admit at times strange and bizarre events have occurred that have no ready explanation. Again in 10-20 years I think science will have answers to much of what we call paranormal/supernatural.

      4. Cryptozoology...The least likely to have anything to it. More people than ever, many using top notch equipment and supposed "experts" can not find anything. Now you may bitch all you like about how science won't do its job. All that shows is one's total ignorance when it comes to that field of work. It is not the job of any scientist to stop everything to work on a pet theory some people with questionable mental facilities have come up with. No they gather and study various evidence, materials and whatever else they need and then come to a conclusion. If that conclusion can be tested and repeated.....well now we are getting somewhere.

Do you see how this now?!?!?!?!

    8. Anon 12:01: Good responses. A few thoughts:

-Skeptics would dispute your claim that parapsychology has been "proven" by science. Got a link? The James Randi Foundation offers a $1 million prize to anyone who can prove this ability. So far nobody has done it..according to the foundation, anyway.

-Extra-terrestrials: The claim that life or intelligent life exists elsewhere is not paranormal. The controversy is whether aliens have actually visited the planet Earth. Most scientists say, "No." Do you say "yes"?

-I think you underestimate the probability of at least ONE large, legendary cryptid being a real animal unknown to science. It is certainly possible, however unlikely, that a relic popution of large animals thought to be extinct could survive in remote areas—especially if such a species evolved special abilities and habits to avoid human detection (intelligence, for example). In fact, one-third of species thought to have gone extinct in the last century have turned up alive and well. Although scientists has learned much about the natural world over the last 300 years, they continue to discover exotic new animals at a surprising rate (giant squid, etc.) Nearly half the world is still wilderness, 95 percent of the ocean is unexplored, and large swaths of forests and jungle remain unchartered and virtually impenetrable. It’s hubris to assume that nature has no big surprises left.

  5. On the river-fishing bigfoot supposedly wearing shoes, Phil et al didn't really address that the individual caught a live, squirming fish using bare hands. Is it likely someone could do that while wearing a costume with full headgear which probably inhibited vision? This would make something which is very hard to do, that mucher tougher to accomplish.

    3. I once saw David Copperfield leviate inside a lexan box. When the lid was opened, he "flew" to the top of the stage and out over the audiance. This was LIVE. Do I think he really flew thru the air, nope.

It doesn't take much on a grainy video to hoax "catching a fish with bare hands"

The video cleary showed footware on the figure. to have a "fish" prop that you wiggle like a puppet would be very easy to fabricate.

You would think that if the hoaxers went to such detail to hoax catching a fish, they would have done a better job with the foot gear.
