Watch: Man Who Recorded Bigfoot Speech, Ron Morehead Discusses Voices in the Wilderness
During the early 1970s, Ron Morehead and his long time friend Al Berry went into the woods of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in eastern California and collected a series of alleged Bigfoot vocalizations called the "Sierra Sounds." Contained within the Sierra Sounds collection are interaction vocalizations popularly known as "Samurai Chatter." Experts like R. Scott Nelson, a crypto-linguist, have declared the mysterious to be Sasquatch language.
Morehead published book entitled "Voices in the Wilderness". It's "about the experiences of a man who witnessed, recorded, and had vocal interactions between himself and a family of giants, commonly referred to as Bigfoot or Sasquatch."
Ron Morehead recently sat down with Brien Foerster of Hidden Inca Tours to do this rare interview:
What does Sasquatch speech sound like?
First!

DeleteTerrible audio......Just about worthless interview. You would think an interview would be more professional.
ReplyDeletefreakin noise that's it what did they interview, a fuzz buster?
DeleteLets go out in traffic and do an interview
ReplyDeleteso tired so tired, what, that was the real story, oookaaa
ReplyDeleteHold the phone:
ReplyDeleteWeren't these two guys professional audio engeneers with access to a recording studio? Also I am 99% sure that when this case broke in the 70's Berry and Moorehead also had **tracks** that they claimed where taken at the scene and presented the tracks as supporting evidence.
After exanining the tracks Dr. Grover Krantz stated that he was 100% sure that the tracks were faked, and said that accordingly he didn't trust the validity of the recordings, because as he put it: "if someone had made genuine recordings why would they then fake footprints as supporting evidence?"
citation please...
DeleteHold the crap.
DeleteThe sounds were tested by the University of Wyoming. The results showed that our human vocal cords are not long enough to reproduce some of the sounds and were out of our range. They also determined no dubbing or messing with the recording had been done. It was recorded exactly as heard.
ReplyDeleteThat pretty much proves these sounds were real and not made by a human.
Can somebody provide a link to this test from a site that does not have Bigfoot in it's name?
DeleteForgive the skepticism, but some of us remember.
Boy do we remember. You remember?
It use to be linked directly to the university from these guys web site. If it is not there, you could probably search the u's website for it. I will try later if no one finds it.
DeleteYou can take a long cardboard tube and put it over your mouth and you have created a longer vocal track. I know people who have made these same sounds through a round tube and sound exactly like whats on those recordings.
DeleteThese could have easiley been faked.
How is using a tube making your vocal cords longer? The cords vibrate to make sound. A tube is only going to amplify the sound. A sine wave meter or other measuring device that measures wave length and such is not going to be fooled like the human ear.
DeleteSorry, this is BS. I've done a lot of recording and these sound like they were done in a booth. Meaning these things were...holding the mike - ie so freaking close you could have handed them the mike.
DeleteI know, I can hear the tape hiss so I know it this was enhanced, but still would have been extremely close.
That was part of the study released by the U. They showed how it was recorded outside and not in a studio etc. The original study was very detailed. I was hoping someone found the link to it.
DeleteThat's right Big Jim! They are the best recording that I have heard of them and they are still around because they are without a doubt some really good evidence. I have heard the wood knocking on 3 different occasions. One one of the occasions there were three of them. I wander if anyone has let local natives to other people from foreign countries listen to the recordings.
ReplyDeleteI would be interested in knowing that if they have figured out what the language is they are speaking if any. It sound's like and intelligent speech!
I have the tapes and awesome can not come close to describing them. I think they were analysed by another sound lab in the east also with same conclusions as the University of Wyoming. Every once in a great while someone comes along like Moorehead/Berry, or Patterson?Gimlin and has the right equipment at the right time in the right conditions and gets fabulous results that can not be discredited and future scientific analysis only enhances the quality and authenticity of the events.
ReplyDeleteChuck
Chuck do you ever ask why are these the only recordings? If bigfoots are all across the U.S. then where are all the other recordings of sas language? from 70's till now we should have thousands of other recordings. They would have been studied by professionals and they could confirm or deny the Sierra sounds. Dont stake bigfoots existance on one recording, one set of tracks or one film!
DeleteI like the sounds better than bob squatches. The sounds of bigfoot are better proof and harder to fake. This sort of thing needs to be done more instead of going out in the woods and howling for a response (like you would if bird watching) because these creatures are more human than ape.
ReplyDeleteMichael Winslow could make those sounds.
ReplyDeleteHe was a kid back then and no he couldn't.
DeleteTune in for Part 2 where Ron goes on to discuss voices in his head.
ReplyDeleteOnly one self procalimed expert (if thats what he calls himself) said it was sasquatch language. Not more than one expert!
ReplyDeleteThe 70's were a good time, samurai chatter, beer busts, getting your ass kicked b/c you didn't smoke weed
