As the Squatch Turns S01E10 - Season Finale [All Out of Popcorn This Season]

The Silence of the Source
It has been 2 days and no news of "Daisy". Has it all gone away or is it still going on and the leaks just plugged up? With the MABRC's decision to suspend the posting abilities of Ed Smith and the outing of the real identity of Ed Smith does this mean it was all a big troll? Is it possible that in fact the secret team known as "Quantra" is still in the process of studying the bigfoot as reported? Truth is unless someone contacts Ed Smith and gets an admission of Hoaxing, we may never know.
If I were the director of a hush hush study that was leaked to the open community I too may have trolled that leak along to discredit him enough that the community believes it to be untrue and allows the subject to drop. The bridging group had grown to a stupidly high number of persons trying to horn in on the capture and release of proof of the elusive animal. I would never have allowed nearly 20 new people to become involved in such a thing. It isn't a wonder that the meeting was canceled and all contact cut off. Whatever the claim for the reason the meeting was canceled the truth may never be known. Had the group been 4-5 people there was a possibility that it may have happened.
This entire story played out just like a TV movie as I predicted in S01E01. I watched as the events unfolded. First the cryptic message, then the posting on facebook as it wouldn't get any attention on the MABRC forum, then the pickup by the bloggers. Interest grew and the buzz began. It generated a loud buzz. Could it be real? Please be real! Yes finally someone has captured a bigfoot and transported it for study. Amazing claims are being thrown around by a lot of people. It seems that is not the case. The ONLY person to make any claims was Ed Smith. The community never heard from "Quantra" directly. We were only given privy to information related to Ed Smiths interaction with the elusive Mr. Alexander.
As the story played on it was revealed that the animal’s health was now a concern. Another ploy used to cause sympathy and urgency to the situation. Now the community has to rally around the cause of a bridging group meeting. Please let us help you help yourself. Ed claimed to have met with "Quantra" in TX to try and plead with them to let the experts in on the study or at least see the evidence. It seemed they agreed and the bridging group team was set. Once again it wasn’t true. The independent researchers were ready to go but Dr. Meldrum had stated publicly that he had indeed been contacted but had asked for more information and "We'll see". So it wasn't really set. Yet the story continued now that the team was set the date and time are agreed upon and to be announced shortly. Once again we heard nothing.
The Next day the story declines. Dr. Meldrum announces that the bridging group meeting has been canceled. The news quickly spread. I even messaged some insiders to see if it was true. Yes it was confirmed the meeting was canceled and will not happen in the future. There is no further information. It seems everyone involved has gone silent. Not much has been heard from anyone involved with the story at all. Ed Smith of course was suspended from the MABRC forum which was the only contact we had with him. Is that really the end?
It all feels unfinished. Something isn't right. Someone has to pay for this! Many people are enraged. They scream, "I'm Mad as Hell and I'm Not Going to Take It Anymore". Does the blame fall on the MABRC? It was their director that brought the post to the Facebook community. If had stayed on the MABRC forums it may not have gotten as big as it did. Who benefitted from the story? Pretty much everyone did. Anyone with a successful blog or youtube channel made a few bucks during all of this. Was there any real money to be made? I can't seem to find any. Was this a stunt? Where is the payoff? I can't see the reason other than to brag of outdoing freezer boy for the worst troll ever.
Where does it leave us? It leaves me feeling let down. I was really looking forward to the climax of the saga. Either they have it in a box or they don't. There is still the smallest chance this story doesn't end here. It is possible that the event happened and this is all just disinformation in an attempt to buy more time to resolve the health issue with daisy, or allow it to perish without being on display. Possibly the animal recovered and they could go back to the original plan of releasing the bigfoot back into the wilds. Only time will tell.

So call me what ever you think will make you feel better, but what remains is thousands of people over centuries have had encounters with Sasquatch, and even if 99% percent are misidentifications or simply lies, there is still that 1% that are real, and that would make Sasquatch 100% real.
