What It Feels Like To Be Hoaxed By Someone

Ladies and gentlemen, we now know what it feels like to be outright hoaxed by someone. When we checked the person's profile, they seemed to be legit-- with lots of friends on Facebook and etc. They sent us a photo, claiming it belonged to them and that they took the photo yesterday by their house. As it turns out, the photo was considered a hoax by FB/FB last month. We pulled the article as soon as we figured this out and this was how it went down between us and the "witness":

"Russell": this is from yesterday

Shawn Evidence: yes. but the picture on that blog is from june.

Shawn Evidence: last month.

"Russell": let me check my files

"Russell": good bye

Shawn Evidence: what's wrong?

"Russell": my brother messed up my files

Shawn Evidence: that's not the photo?

Shawn Evidence: the one you sent me?

"Russell": no i thought it was i have two of the same files

Shawn Evidence: do you have the photo?

"Russell": yes

Shawn Evidence: can you send it?

"Russell": my 13 year old brother lives with me and yes

Shawn Evidence: can you send me the photo?

"Russell": plese change it

Shawn Evidence: please send me the photo and i'll update it

"Russell": ok

Shawn Evidence: why did you send me a photo that was called a hoax?

"Russell": i have two of the sme files i knew mine was on one but it was the other file

Shawn Evidence: well.. you saw the photo

Shawn Evidence: how come you didn't say anything?

Shawn Evidence: you insisted that it was yours

"Russell": well i did not look til now i just said cool and good

Shawn Evidence: i feel like i've just been hoaxed.

Shawn Evidence: i can't believe this.

"Russell": its true

Shawn Evidence: well. this is bad. very bad.

Shawn Evidence: not cool.

Shawn Evidence: wow

"Russell": wow what

Shawn Evidence: i feel like i've been hoaxed by you.

"Russell": well you wernt

Shawn Evidence: you said it was your photo

Shawn Evidence: turns out it belonged to someone else

"Russell": ok

"Russell": whateever


[Update: Here's the article that we pulled regarding the photo.]

"Russell" took this photo of a possible Sasquatch by the woods near her house in Waynsboro, PA on July 10th 2012. According to "Russell", she was riding her scooter and while watching the tree line, she saw something dark by the trees. She managed to pull her cellphone out from her pocket in time to take one photo. The creature ran into the woods before she could take anymore pictures.

When asked about what she thought she had seen, she said it looked like a Bigfoot. "It just stared for a minute and it ran off. It had dark eyes, brown, with black hair. It looked like it was hit by a car and it looked as if it was missing a big chunk of skin and hair," Russell tells us.

Russell said the creature appeared to be eating raspberries when she encountered it and was about 7 to 8' tall. She added that it was definitely bipedal. The creature stared at her for about 5 minutes.

She mentioned that the creature was making some weird sounds while running off into the woods. "It sounded like a holler and a screech mixed," she said. "I sometimes hear it when me and my cousin camp in those woods but we ignored it. We thought it was a screech owl."

Russell also mentioned that they found some kind hut by the area. "It was made out of sticks and mud and quite a bit of leaves," Russel described. "I know there were bones in there and it smelled like garbage and dead animal in there. It was rank."

Even after staring at the creature for 5 minutes, Russell is still unsure about what's lurking in the woods by her house.

"Do you think it could be Bigfoots?" she asked us.

    You say "they're all hoaxes" - Isn't that just as unbalanced and unreasonable as those who think every photo and every video is a legitimate Bigfoot sighting? Intelligence, critical thinking, and credibility all require honest examination and evaluation on a case-by-case basis.

      I'll be completely honest with you. The ONLY one (video or pic) that I DO NOT think is a hoax is the Georgia Bigfoot video where the girl yells "hey Bigfoot".

      What I really meant to say in that post was: the Georgia Bigfoot video is the only one (pic or video) of which I'm not 100% convinced is a hoax. All of the others have thoroughly convinced me that they're bullshit.

      It's the combination of things for me. The pretty convincing conversation we hear during the filming. It didn't seem to be orchestrated at all and the footage itself is very interseting. The very long arms, height and the quickness in which it moved. I just can't find anything in the video that convinces me it was a farce.
