The 12 Commandments For The Passionate "Amateur" Sasquatch Researcher
Editor’s Note: This is a guest post by CA-BFRO Researcher, Bart Cutino. Cutino, 38, is an unabashed, unapologetic member of The Bigfoot Research Organization, a diverse group of about 200 researchers and adventurers. He's also a member of the AIBR, the Olympic Project and the Bigfoot Discovery Museum. He was a participant at the Sierra Kills body recovery effort in July 2011.The 12 Commandments For The Passionate "Amateur" Sasquatch Researcher
1) Lie And Or Compromise Your Integrity Once, And Your Credibility Deserves To Be Challenged And Questioned Forever.
2) Documentation, Detail & Due Diligence, "Always"....Prior To Delivery.
3) Understand Your Job Is To Objectively Assess & Collect, Then Defer; The Credentialed Expert's Job Carries The Burden & Responsibility Of "Determining."
4) Before Bothering To Argue Why Sasquatches "Can And Do" Exist, You Must Fully Understand, Learn And Explore The Reasons Why So Many Others Believe And Accept That They "Can't" Exist.
5) Instead Of Denying Or Merely Accepting Your Ignorance And Weaknesses, Seek Out And Learn From Those (Hunters, Trackers, Biologists Etc...) That Possess Them As Strengths.
6) If You Call It A "Research" Or "Study" Area, Then You Should've Already Begun "Researching" And Or "Studying" The Immediate Biosphere And All Local Fauna That Frequent, Represent And Distinguish It.
7) In Your Search, Prioritize And Consider Viable Habitat (Food, Water & Cover) Topography And season Before Prioritizing Chasing Unsubstantiated Claims And "History."
8) With Respect To Your Experience(s), Before Considering An "Unrecognized Species," Consider Every Possibility & Scenario Within Every "Recognized" Species.
9) Don't Ever Make "Definitive" Statements While Lacking The Personal Knowledge, Experience Or Evidence To Validate Those Statements As "Definitive."
10) Don't Expect Others To Just Accept Or "Believe" What You Present, If You Couldn't Accept Or "Believe," Had The Same Been Presented To You By Others.
11) With Respect To The Subject Matter, Understand That Your Evidence Can Only Be "Great" If It Doesn't Require The Legs Of You Or Anybody Else To Stand.
12) Remember.... "Perspective," You Participate In This Field Because You Enjoy The Pursuit, Not Because Of Any Promise Or Payoff. Stay Guided By Your Principles, Patience & "Passion," Or You'll Quickly Find Yourself Void Of All Three.

Excellent stuff Bart!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sad not one person in the history of Bigfooting has followed all those rules. Is their a Bigfoot God to pray to to forgive us our sins?
ReplyDelete+!
DeleteHe's got it right and what a great guide for researchers. I especially like 3 through 8 + 11,12. Well written and expressed!
ReplyDeleteKeep up good work B, you give me hope for this field.
Praise the Lord, and pass the therm.
ReplyDelete13 don't let the facts get in the way of a good myth
ReplyDeleteHe forgot the one that says you must be paranoid that all other researchers are out to get you and that you must stab them in the back at every opportunity.
ReplyDeleteSadly Shawn doesn't know what each of the letters of the BFRO stand for.
ReplyDeleteAll that and he's hot! Great post!
ReplyDelete13) Take Yourself VSeriously And Be Certain To Ridicule And Make Personal Attacks Against Anyone Who Doesn't Agree With You
ReplyDelete"...is an unabashed, unapologetic member of The Bigfoot Research Organization,"
ReplyDeleteBigfoot Field Researchers Organization
You can't even get that right?! Really?

Bart, please investigate, to your own reasonable satisfaction, MM's claimed sighting.

ReplyDelete#13 For the g a y s and girls... bring a really looooong extension cord for your hair dryer. You gotta look fabulous when you find evidence and take pictures!
ReplyDeletePlease, please, please, somebody send this to Mitch waide and Alex Hearn!
ReplyDelete13. To all self promoting BF researchers/hunters : Always bring along a strong torch because it is dark living up your own backside.
ReplyDeleteAlso carry a knife to back stab others.
Special thanks to my dear friend Rictor Riolo! The 12 Commandments are his brainchild and would've never been written without him.
ReplyDeleteBart Cutino
So let it be written,so let it be done!
DeleteNailed it Cutino!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell done Bart, this is a good set of commandments.
ReplyDeleteNumber One Most Important, Bart.
ReplyDeleteWill you see it through Bart?
Bart, it matters.
Bart, what if Matt is willing to lie?
Does that matter Bart?

Quite a few others here , apparently, Bart,
ReplyDeleteseem to think that truthfulness and integrity should not apply to MM.
What do you think Bart?
Truthfulness and integrity should apply to everyone, at least that's the way I see it.
DeleteI don't know of anyone who thinks MM is exempt from that "commandment".
Do you think MM fabricated his sighting story? That much seems obvious but I'm curious why you feel this way.
Do you believe that MM had a sighting but did not mention it for years for some reason even while starting his group and speaking constantly about bigfoot? Do you believe MM, during all his involvement, kept a sighting secret for several years? Yes or no?
DeleteOr,
ReplyDeleteBart,
are you willing to not hold MM accountable
to your standards of accountability?
Please answer, Bart Cutino.
The guy wrote some great guidelines for the field that he tries to live by- he's done a good job since Ive been in field far as I can see- yet he's supposed to be responsible for behavior of all his friends?
ReplyDeleteNot that it matters much, but why does Matt M sighting matter to you anon? unless your maybe a FB fan stalker- and didnt moneymaker say he saw a silouhette for christs sake? Who cares
Damn bart, you're involved in everything, 4 groups, the boots, guest posts, videos, fieldwork on and on....
ReplyDeleteNice job and cheers!
