Our friend Michael Merchant, after a week of catching snakes in South Carolina, he managed to squeeze in a "Bigfoot field trip" into his busy schedule.
While he's working on getting the South Carolina snake video uploaded to YouTube, you can watch Michael's latest Bigfoot field trip video below.
Here's the list of things in he found during the trip:
- Partridge feathers
- Raccoon scat?
- Beetles
- Dog tracks
- Jack-in-the-Pulpit
- Fisher Trap
- Evidence of animal chewing on tree bark (inner layer of bark)
- Horribly smelly garter snake
Who's garter was the snake wrapped around in order come away smelling so bad? Hovey's perhaps?

I hate snakes and would just as soon as kill one to see one. Don't care what kind it is, they are all horrile nasty things

ReplyDeleteSWP, because I'm an all-around-geek... do you have many documented cases of coyote/wolf hybrids in your part of Maine?
I'm really interested in this phenomenon as a type of hyper-speed-evolution. How many generations before a geographical breeding population of a third identifiable species of canine emerges? ...and will backward compatability eventually eradicate the gene pool for current wolves and coyotes, over the course of millennia? (yes, I'm making a canine/human comparison... but we're 3-for-3 with relic Homo DNA!) The coyote/wolf hybrids could be a very important study to follow from the ground up.
...just don't tell the foxes! They might get jealous. LOL

In some areas ferral dogs also breed with coyotes so lump that into the equation too.

DeleteI shot a 'coydog'(coyote dog mix) this morning that had been coming around my house during the day, which is unusual behavior for a coyote. People around where I live are very irresponsible with their animals and when there is a litter of dogs or cats they generally just let them loose into the wild. Coyotes and dogs most definitely interbreed in the wild. The one I shot looked like a Coyote but the coat was colored splotchy red black and brown, like a lot of the wild dogs around the area, not the uniform color of a wild coyote. Don't think I am a cold blooded killer, when you have pets outdoors and a wild looking coyote/dog looking thing running around your yard in broad daylight, it usually is a sign something in that animal is wrong.

David to answer your question. It is estimated that 1/5 of the Coyotes up here have over 50% wolf DNA. A mix of Red Wolf, and Grey wolf. This Camera trap was baited, and we took about three weeks to get this footage. The camera is both motion and heat sensitive, and the Coyotes can see the infra-red flash. So it took them a while to get use to it. I plan on doing a full review of this camera very soon. It can take over 30,000 photos per set of batteries, and costs under $100.00, which puts it in the price range of most researchers. SWP

I don't agree with everything he says, for example: "he made a comment referring to RL as a racist simply because RL "relayed" a first impression (from someone else) regarding the Smeja Bigfoot picture that was released a few weeks ago. The guy/girl thought the pic reminded him/her of Morgan Freeman. Again, that wasn't RL's comment, he was relaying it. However, even if it was RL's first impression, what's wrong with saying it? If something looks like someone you know, well, something looks like someone you know. I just don't get the racism in it.

ReplyDeleteThank you SasquaiNation, and all of the other posters here who enjoyed this video. It is viewers like you guys/girls, that encourage me to continue to produce videos. We have a bunch of interesting stuff coming up. More field trips, a bunch of them, in the far northern areas of the State of Maine, more eye witness reports then I can keep track off (had Kv put together a data base), and some trips to a few exotic locals, that I am not going to say, because I don't wish to spoil the fun. Needless to say, there is some very exciting stuff on the horizon. :)) And I can't thank all of you enough, for the positive encouragement, and generous support. We have people directing witnesses to us, people like GuidedByPandas sharing their many talents to our projects, and just too much to mention. It is humbling to be part of something so grand, and to continuous meet people with such generous natures, and high morals. The haters be damned, we are going no where.
